El pueblo permanece de rodillas mientras el interior de la Iglesia se oscurece y se prepara para el Viernes Santo. El Sacramento se lleva a la Capilla para la Vigilia de la Noche. Se desviste el Altar y la Cruz se viste de negro: hemos comenzado la observación del Viernes Santo. Por favor, salgan en silencio una vez que hayamos terminado de desvestir el Altar. Sung kneeling, fourth stanza a cappella.

The people remain kneeling as the Church is darkened and made ready for Good Friday. The Sacrament is carried away to the Chapel for the Night Watch there. The Altar is stripped of its furnishings, and the Cross is veiled in black: the observance of Good Friday has begun. Please leave in silence when the Stripping of the Altar is completed. The Golding Chapel remains open for those who wish to remain for part of the Night Watch.
