GOD IS ALWAYS WITH HIS PEOPLE | SUNDAY, MARCH 22, 2020 Hello parents! We are excited to share these CCC Kids at Home resources with you to help you be the spiritual leader in your home during this detour we are all on. This resource will go along with the teaching video, so make sure to watch that first. Do as much or as little as you want. These lessons are geared toward both Early Childhood and Elementary. Just look for the section that fits your family best. The CCC Kids team is here to serve you in any way we can, so please let us know how we can help! Have fun with this and get creative!

BIG PICTURE: God is always with his people

BIG IDEA: We do not need to fear BIG POINT: See things from God’s perspective

BIG STORY: Read 2 Kings 6:9–32 BIG WORD: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deut. 31:6 (NIV) LEARNING OUTCOMES

Through this lesson, children will: • Know that God rules and reigns over all, including our fear. • Know that God’s love casts out fear. • God protects all who trust in his name (Psalm 91:14).

THE BIG QUESTION (to discuss with your kids)

1. Parents, share a time when you were blinded by fear and how God protected, provided and cared for you through that situation. Ask children what they are afraid of. 2. Everyone reacts to fear differently. What is something you do when you become afraid? 3. What does God say to do when we feel afraid? We must remember how much God loves us and focus on him. 1 John 4:18 says God’s perfect love casts out fear. Remember that even though fear is always trying to creep in, every time we are fearful, we can receive God’s love to cast it out. This is an ongoing practice. Take a minute to pray and receive more of God’s love in your family.

AT-HOME ACTIVITIES: ELEMENTARY

Card Making Even older people become afraid, so let’s show that we care and share God’s love with them by making cards of encouragement. Create a card to be shared with shut-in seniors or those in care facilities. Use paper, markers, and maybe some stickers. Let’s show the seniors we haven’t forgotten them! The CCC Kids team will mail the cards to the seniors for you. Please send them to us by March 29, 2020, addressed to: Christ Community Church Attn: Darla Bair 404 S. 108th Ave. Omaha, NE 68154 Memory Verse Reminder Look up Deuteronomy 31:6 and write it out on a 3 x 5 card. Keep it in a handy place so every time you feel fearful you can remember to focus on God and that he is with you.

AT-HOME ACTIVITIES: EARLY CHILDHOOD

Wrapped in God’s Love Draw an outline of big heart and have your child color it in. Help them glue Cheerios, Fruit Loops, macaroni, beans, or pieces of colored paper—whatever you may have on hand—on the outline. Glue a picture of your child in the center of the heart and tell them that they are wrapped in God’s love.

PRAYER Dear God, Thank you for your love for us and that you promise to always be with us. Thank you that we can call on you when we feel afraid and be reminded of your great love, care and protection. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
