Activity How Can You Follow?

First, watch this week’s video! youtu.be/xCbT8mL1UVs

What You Need No supplies needed. What You Do Ask your child to follow you around the room and mimic you as you walk like different animals: duck (waddle and quack), dog (walk on all fours and bark), bunny (hop and make bunny ears with your hands), frog (hop on all fours and say “ribbit”), and a fish (stand and pretend to swim while making a fish face). Repeat as desired. Say, “Let’s see how many fun ways you can follow me! I will go all around the room, and you can follow me. Be sure to watch me and follow the way I go! First, follow me like a DUCK! (Do activity.) Nice! Now, follow me like a DOG!” (Continue and finish the activity.) Play until your child loses interest.

Bible Story Andrew & Peter; James & John (Matthew 4:18-22; Luke 5:1-11)

Then say, “That was so much fun! In our Bible story, we heard about some men named Peter, Andrew, James, and John. They were fishermen. One day, Jesus walked by them and said, ‘Come follow me!’ Jesus, God’s Son, wanted them to follow Him! Jesus wants us to follow Him too. He wants to be our friend FOREVER! Who can be friends with Jesus? Everyone can be friends with Jesus!”

Remember This “‘Come and follow me,’ Jesus said.” Matthew 4:19, NIrV

Say This Who can be friends with Jesus? Everyone can be friends with Jesus.

Prayer “God, thank you for Jesus and sending him to be our friend forever! Thank you for loving us all so much. Thank you that everyone can be friends with Jesus. In Jesus name, amen.”
