HSM Omaha Mission Trip

One of the greatest opportunities that comes with taking part in a mission trip is the process of trusting God to provide the necessary money for all of the needs. The primary means of raising funds will be through support letters. We will send out a sample letter to help you through the writing process or you can find it the same place you go to apply, These letters will ask for and encourage the giving of both prayer and financial support and can be sent to anyone you know who might want to support you as you step out of your comfort zone! A good place to start are CCC attenders, family members, friends, etc. For a trip with this amount of financial need, each participant should send out 20 or more letters. Parents...there is also a chance to build some ownership of the trip in your student by encouraging them to work and pay for their own trip deposit. Students may be able to get a job or save money through babysitting, yard work around the neighborhood, etc. Students can also be encouraged to use birthday money for the trip. As humans, the more we pay for something, the more we value it, and it is no different when it comes to a mission trip. The work your student is going to do to raise their own money for the trip should be included in the support letter. This helps show those who are considering supporting them that your student is also committed financially to make this trip happen. Please don’t let money be a reason why you don’t go on this trip! The amount may seem impossible, but the process of trusting God to provide can be an awesome faith builder for both of you and your whole family.

We have been watching things closely, have had many discussions with parents and church leadership, and through prayer, sense God calling us to serve both in Omaha and Miami this year. We will be taking the necessary precautions during all our trainings and while on the trip.
