IT’S ALL ABOUT THE STORY. The heart of film is story. While the tenants of technology may change, the timeless truths and methods behind storytelling remain the same. Learning how to take these concepts and apply them in our visual culture can be the secret weapon needed for success in Hollywood. LAFSC believes in balancing current technology with the tried and true methods of storytelling to mold visual content creators. We explore cinema as a visual together to create a story with meaning and impact.

trains students to serve in various aspects of the film industry with professional skill and Christian integrity. The curriculum consists of two required seminars: Hollywood Production Workshop (HPW) and Faith & Artistic Development in Film. HPW encourages the crucial skill of collaborative filmmaking by students’ creation of festival-ready films that culminate in a Hollywood screening. Faith & Artistic Development in Film explores the connection between the eye, the heart and the hand, focusing on the integration of faith and learning as well as developing the necessary skills for analysis of the culture of Hollywood. Internships in various segments of the film industry provide students with hands-on experience. The combination of these courses allows students to explore the film industry within a Christian context and from a liberal arts perspective. The program recommends that students be granted the equivalent of 16 hours of credit by their home institution.

Internship: Inside Hollywood Students participate in an internship experience in some aspect of the Hollywood entertainment industry. Students work 20 to 24 hours a week, spread over a three-day schedule, and accumulate 200-250 hours for the semester.
