Dear Camp Greenheart Supporters, As we move into the second year of our annual Camp Greenheart, we also reach a special milestone at Greenheart International – celebrating our 30th year of connecting people and planet to create global leaders. With our unique focus on personal development, cultural exchange, and environmental stewardship, the Camp Greenheart experience truly demonstrates global leadership. At Camp Greenheart, your child will learn and grow all while creating a unique connection to themselves, others, and the world. I encourage you to give your child an experience that will provide life-long lessons and memories. Sincerely,
Emanuel Kuntzelman Founder and President, Greenheart International
About Camp Greenheart Camp Greenheart is an initiative of Greenheart International, a global non-profit headquartered in Chicago. Since 1985, Greenheart International has served the global community by connecting people and planet to create global leaders through personal development, volunteer service, environmentalism, fair trade, and cultural exchange. Greenheart achieves this through its branches—Greenheart Travel, CCI Greenheart, Greenheart Shop, Greenheart Transforms—and the Greenheart Club. Camp Greenheart is an extension of these areas of expertise and also provides us with the opportunity to connect with youth in our community. We have demonstrated success in fostering leadership skills, teamwork, and creativity among camp participants.
Mission and Philosophy Camp Greenheart’s mission is to: Engage youth to explore their natural surroundings Work creatively, collaboratively, and independently Foster a holistic sense of well-being for self, others, and the world Challenge campers through increased responsibility and independence Celebrate youth and togetherness with music and nature We strive to make camp a fun, active, life-learning experience for all of our campers. The camp mission is achieved by providing challenging, nature-based activities such as swimming, climbing, boating, environmental education, sports, arts and crafts, archery, hiking, camping and much more. As with all recreational programs, there is an element of risk at camp, both physical and emotional. This is what makes camp a successful tool for the overall development of a child. We encourage parents to remind campers that the counselors and staff are available to help guide them through the camp experience and that anytime they need assistance they should seek out a staff member.
