Epoxiconazole Price Decreases Sharp in 2010 The price of epoxiconazole technical declined a lot in 2010, and it is estimated to continue in the future. The decreasing price enhances its competitiveness in domestic formulation market. The price of epoxiconazole technical was $97,744/t at the beginning of 2009. Since then, the price kept falling and dipped to $67,669/t at the beginning of 2010, down 30.77%.
Before 2009, the capacity of epoxiconazole technical was small and its price was high in China. However, the capacity has witnessed great increase since then, which expanded from about 300t/a in 2008 to 650t/a at the end of 2009.
The price of epoxiconazole is estimated to further decrease in the future. An epoxiconazole technical production line of Lier Chemical Co., Ltd. with capacity of 150t/a will probably be launched in 2011. Jiangsu Huifeng Agrochemical Co., Ltd. is expanding its epoxiconazole technical capacity from 200t/a to 1,200t/a.
At present, most epoxiconazole technical produced in China is for export and the consumption in domestic market is small due to its high price. However, the application in China is estimated to increase with the continuously declining price and its high efficacy in controlling banana leaf spot and wheat rust. Besides, the product has huge potential in the rice pesticide market. It is ideal to control rice false smut and rice sheath blight. It also has good effect on prevention and treatment of diseases in cereal crops, fruit trees, etc.
