Dr. Roman Macaya, Director, Latin America Agrochemicals Industry Association (ALINA)
Roman Macaya is a scientist and businessman who has served as President of Costa Rica's National Chamber of Generic Products, and as President of ALINA, the Latin American Association of National Agrochemical Industries. Dr. Macaya currently serves as President of AgroCare, the global Association of manufacturers of generic crop protection products based in Brussels, Belgium. All these organizations create awareness of the social and economic benefits generated by the competition of generic crop protection products, and are reference organizations on technical, regulatory and legal matters. Dr. Macaya holds an MBA in Health Care Management from Wharton Business School (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), a doctorate in Biochemistry from UCLA (Los Angeles, California) and a B.A. in Chemistry from Middlebury College (Middlebury, Vermont).
