Prices of pesticide raw material fluctuates in China In early 2011, prices of pesticide raw materials in China fluctuate. Pushed by surging oil prices, prices of methanol and benzene related raw material rise modestly, while the prices of inorganic materials are sliding.
In Feb. 2011, methanol is about USD430/t, up by 7.1% year-on-year. Due to tight supplies of natural gas and oil, the demand for methanol is expected to remain strong. Prices of pure benzene, toluene and xylene are about USD1160/t, USD1145/t and USD1192/t, up by 7.3%, 3.3% and 4.0% respectively compared with that in January.
