The chart shows that both output and capacity of sucralose in China had been increasing from 2006 to 2010. And in 2010, the output of sucralose reaches more than 600 tonnes, increasing by about 50% over 2009 thanks to the recovered demand from overseas market.

Generally, it is estimated that China's sucralose industry will develop gradually in the future. Specifically speaking, the total capacity of sucralose will increase tremendously when processing construction project of sucralose is accomplished and capacity utilization raised. Even though the government has already taken action to stabilize it, the price of sugar in China still stays at a high level. Therefore, more and more food producers prefer high intensity sweeteners (HIS) to sugar, which can significantly slash production cost. Hence, this situation is favorable to the consumption of HIS. With the development of sugar-free foods and extensive application of HIS, the demand for sucralose home and abroad will continue growing in the following years.
