Water supply covers 1 million hectares arid farmland China's central and local governments have helped bring more than 1.06 million hectares water to farmland in winter wheat regions as part of the battle against the drought since Oct. 2010. The government had dispatched about 77,000 people for drought-fighting in China's eight major winter wheat regions. 980,000 people and 310,000 livestock got relief from drinking water shortage.
