Purposeful and Strategic Assessment/Instruction Design

TASK
The fields next to each standard could be used to indicate the progression of learning experiences for students for these standards. The area across the top indicates a timeline of instruction, informal formative assessment, formal formative assessment, and final assessment. Each experience could occur one day after the other, or with small breaks in between. The purpose of this approach is to ensure that students have had multiple opportunities to build their mastery of a standard, while teachers use formative thinking to make instructional decisions. It is only after this process that students would be expected to meet or exceed standards and complete performance tasks.
