We are going to outsource the production of these flyers to m13graphics, a printing supply and distribution company out of Schaumburg, Illinois. Our goal is to purchase and distribute 7,500 flyers over the course of a 12 week period throughout the SIUe campus. We will parallel this mode of advertising with running a similar spot in the Alestle. This ad will be a full page, 11 x 17 black and white flyer advertising the restaurant and will also feature and promotional coupon at the bottom of the page. This we hope will inspire students to display interest and interact with the business by bringing foot traffic into The Boulevard to use the promotional coupons. CLIENT: Hennessy PRODUCT: Hennessy Cognac Background/Overview and Problems Hennessy V.S Cognac was labeled in 1865 by Maurice Hennessy as the “Three Star Cognac” or as it is known today as “V.S” (Very Special). Maurice was motivated by a decorative handle, on his office window, which led to the design of the ax-in-hand logo. Hennessy V.S is blended from the first four growing areas in the Cognac region and combines the sweetness of red fruits with a hint of vanilla that lingers on the palate.” V.S is aged in oak barrels giving it a slight taste of hazelnuts along with the flavors of the 40 eaux-de-vie. Target Audience African American males, ages 21-35, with an income of $40,000-59,999 Objectives The market objective is to raise awareness to Hennessy V.S as not only an elegant cognac meant for sipping but also as sophisticated liquor which can be used in cocktails and mixed drinks. By increasing the awareness of Hennessy V.S as a more versatile beverage we hope to increase our total market share tapping into new demographics (for Hennessy) and stealing the consumers from its new competition, other liquors, such as whiskey. Whisky has the same versatility as Hennessy V.S as a mixing liquor and is much more similar in flavor than vodka or rum, yet whiskey holds a much higher percent of the market compared to cognac. If Hennessy was able to capture a part of that market, it could easily increase the market share very quickly. Message To effectively target the right audience the efficiently, Hennessy V.S needs to place their ads in places that will receive traffic of drinkers: near bars, liquor stores, and music stores. Another important aspect is that Hennessy V.S is not just trying to hold on to its current customers but create a new niche in the market by marketing Hennessy V.S as a mixable liquor much like whiskey currently is. One-way to effectively do this is through the use of posters with tear away recipe cards, kiosks, and other promotions. . Tone Tone should be one of sophistication and interpersonal. However, we still want to keep our stance on excitement and enthusiasm about our product. Allowing customers to participate in contests creates a fun and interpersonal tone. Competition Jack Daniels Jim Beam Wild Turkey Early Times The Media Each poster will have several drink recipes using Hennessy V.S and other juices and liquors that can be torn off and taken home or to the bar. Each poster exposes the potential consumer to Hennessy V.S as well as allows them to take part of the advertisement with them. This in turn will stir up word-ofmouth as well as leading to the purchase of either Hennessy V.S drinks at the bar or a bottle of Hennessy V.S at the store. Along with all of the posters and other promotions, Hennessy’s web site will have a contest for submitting a drink using Hennessy’s V.S. The contest can be promoted on all current advertisements and will also create word-of-mouth advertising. The winners can receive a bottle of Hennessy V.S, a Hennessy whiskey snifter, and a Hennessy T-shirt. Mandatories and Other Relative slogan “I am…” Legal – dependent upon state-to-state regulations

The following is an individual advertisement for Fossil Watches. I provided the photography and post production of the image to simulate what would typically be displayed in a fashion magazine or an in-store display. The objective was to create a sophisticated look for the timepiece and draw the potential buyer’s gaze to the ad in a subtle yet intriguing way.
CLIENT: FOSSIL PRODUCT: FOSSIL WATCH Background/Overview and Problems The fashion market is as stable as ever despite the recession. We want the Fossil watch to be one of those pieces of equipment. Additionally, our sales are a consequence of the ongoing console war with our competitors and their ability to expand and grow. We are optimistic that with our new campaign, we will meet and exceed our goals for the fiscal year. Target Audience Fossil’s typical demographic for a consumer is a male from a middle-class background within the age range of 18-30 years old. This audience we are hoping for is made up of the "style-conscious" gentlemen with disposable income. They desire our timepiece as the accessory they think of first and seldom deviate from if ever. Objectives What we are hoping to accomplish is to expand our market and increase sales. We want to increase are our unit sales and increase our profit margin with hopes of attaining that number one ranking in the U.S., the birthplace of the Fossil brand.
Become #1 in sales in the U.S. Increase Profit Margin Double Unit Sales
Message Not only is the Fossil Watch a timepiece, it is a lifestyle changer. Our current slogan is, “Vintage Inspired Since 1984,” We want our audience to truly buy into this this mantra and see the Fossil Watch as an irreplaceable piece for their lifestyle. Tone

Media Plans

The following is a media plan constructed as part of the MC-389 Media Planning coursework. The purpose of this media plan was to introduce the public to Kashi Pizza and create a new market for sales. I was responsible for demographic research and took the lead in presenting the plan to our client (classmates). I attribute the other shares of the assignment to Sarah Kafka, Cierra Wourman, and Caitlin Corey. This assignment was the final product of what were learned over the duration of the semester.
Meet the Pizza Buyer The buyer-The Target Audience
Women dominate the whole wheat foods market. Women are more likely to buy whole wheat food for themselves and/or their family, because they have a more nurturing nature. Found by research, women are more likely to care about their health over men and pay more attention to it. Whole wheat pizza is a new trend for families. Women get their families to eat a family favorite that is still healthy for them. The most common whole wheat pizza buy is women aged 18 to 44. These women tend to be married with children that care about the health of others. Whole wheat foods tend to be a little more expensive at times and that is why families with household incomes of $75,000 to $100,000 are more likely to buy this product. By targeting women for whole wheat pizza, it will reach not only them but their families too. Target Audience Profile

Kashi Pizza Media Plan, 2011
Giving a Reason to Choose Kashi Pizza Media Objectives
Kashi Pizza is a signature blend of Kashi Seven Whole Grains & Sesame® with flax seed and is stone fired to bring out the natural flavors. Kashi Pizza is distributed nationally in retail stores including both natural food stores as well as conventional grocery outlets. The prices of Kashi Pizza range from $5.99 to $7.99. Given a media budget of $6.75 million for the 2011-2012 campaign years, Kashi will increase Kashi Pizza sales by creating brand loyalty and brand awareness by already getting the Kashi buyers to buy the pizza. Kashi will carefully select diverse media channels, and manage the budget accurately. In the past Kashi has used only internet to promote the Kashi Pizza. The campaign will increase brand awareness and brand loyalty by not only using internet but including different mediums. Brand history Kashi Pizza is made by the Kashi Company, a division of Kellogg’s. Kashi brand is best known for its line of natural cereals, natural snacks, crackers, and frozen waffles with total sales for all Kashi brands estimated at $560 million. Kashi pizza is positioned as all natural, using the signature Kashi‘s blend of Seven Whole Grains & Sesame® for the pizza. Competition Kashi Pizza’s top competitors include DiGiorno, Tombstone, Red Baron, and CPK frozen pizzas. The competitors are spending between $4 million and $35 million annually, but normally on the higher end of the scale. DiGiorno spreads their budget between Internet, Outdoor, Net and Spot TV, Cable and Magazine. Tombstone, CPK, and Red Baron use most of their budget on the Internet, Magazine, and TV to advertise. Most of the competition uses more than one market to advertise their products, where as Kashi only used Internet. However, Kashi Pizza is going to spread their budget out more to different mediums creating a better chance to create greater brand awareness. Problem Kashi's Pizza has recently just been added to the Kashi products in the past year. Although this product is new, its biggest problem is that they have only used the Internet market to spread the word of the new product. Kashi's goal is to create brand loyalty and awareness to the already
Kashi buyer, but also other pizza buyers. Because they have only put their budget into one market, they are not getting awareness about the product out, which is not helping to create a stronger buyer and brand loyalty and awareness. Solution Kashi's Pizza problem is that they do not spread their budget into various markets giving them a better chance to create a larger and stronger brand loyalty and awareness. To fix this problem, Kashi is increasing their advertisement budget to 20% of sales and spreading out that budget to different markets. Kashi now advertises the pizza product in five different markets; Spot TV, Net TV, Outdoor, Internet and Magazine. Kashi is targeting the already buyers of Kashi but giving a product that is more family friendly. Kashi's target audience is women with families. The pizza is more appealing to families because it is healthy and still is a food favorite. Kashi is also hoping to target more pizza buyers that are looking to eat healthier. Diverse Groups
Kashi Pizza will become more diverse to reach all types of people.
 Pizza Eaters: Kashi Pizza is a way for pizza eaters to have their favorite food and still eat healthy.  Healthy Eaters: Kashi is made with whole wheat, which is a healthier substitution than other foods. Many people have high health risks, and whole wheat is one way to help reduce these risks.  Family: Kashi has now created a family friendly product by adding pizza to their company, which is more appealing to families. Timing
Launch: August 1, 2011 Time frame: August 1, 2011 - July 31, 2012 Kashi is going to use different medias to advertise their newly product pizza in a 12 month time period. The whole 12 months will be used in pulsing advertisement. Pulsing is used because we feel that the pizza should be advertised year round, just more in certain months. The things we took into consideration when deciding when to have higher advertisements were weather, location and lifestyle. We chose to use Outdoors in the hotter seasons because more people are outside and travel. We used Internet and Magazines randomly throughout the year, but definitely took into consideration colder weather when people want to stay inside, and also right before the school year begins. We used Net TV frequently and Spot TV a little. We chose to use this because Television

is an important way of communication, and directly focusing on women who watch the news or their daily TV shows. By using this 12 month period, we feel that the pulsing strategy will constantly show our audience the advertisement; some more than others; and create more of brand loyalty and awareness.

Media Mix Kashi is choosing to use four methods of media vehicles to spread the word of product; T.V.; Net and Spot, Internet, Magazines and Outdoor. We are using this strategy to try and improve the reach of the Kashi Pizza products. By spreading the budget between different markets, there is a better chance of improving the sales rate by reaching to a larger and more diverse audience. From the budget that we have come up with, $6.75 million, are splitting it up into four media vehicles. We are giving $3,375,000 toward T.V.; $2,362,500 to Net TV and $1,012,500 to Spot TV, $1,350,000 for Internet, $1,350,000 toward Magazines, and $675,000 for Outdoor.
