The Life and Times of Sean Addison Martin A story teller for the masses…Some actual, and perhaps, some not. His laugh was so thunderous that it would shake the skies above, which would resonate with everyone who was blessed enough to have been engaged with any of his conversations. He embraced each and every person with whom he encountered with immense humor, vast amounts of encouragement and an enormous heart of gold…These are just a few words to describe, The man , The legend, And the One and ONLY...Sean
Addison Martin.” The youngest of three sons, born to Rosemary Lee and Herbert Lloyd Martin, graced the city of Detroit on August 22nd,1966. Unbeknown to Herb, Rosemary and brothers; Herb Jr., and Steven, Master Sean would prove to become a handful of energy and ingenuity to the tenth power! Sean was one of the first, of many, to attend The Children‟s Learning Center, (One of his mother‟s entrepreneurial quests) located inside of Central United Methodist Church in downtown Detroit. Between learning and spending an exhorbant amount of time in every corner within the facility due to behavioral time-out‟s, the Martin‟s made a unanimous decision that he would join his brother Steve at Gesu Catholic School for another attempt at taming the Master. Of course, this subsequently resulted with yet another attempt that proved to be successful, on the campus of Hampton Elementary! “A „Husky‟ for life,” Sean attended Redford High School in Detroit, and graduated from Berkley High School. He continued to further his education in Ypsilanti at Washtenaw Community College and Eastern Michigan University. In 1991, Sean‟s entrepreneurial spirit and business savvy led him to San Diego, CA to establish a carpet cleaning business that remained in operation for over five years. Sean returned to Detroit to assist with the family businesses and became a prosperous real estate investor owning several commercial and residential properties located throughout Southeastern Michigan. Sean was a master of “human interaction,” and superior with making things go his way! Undeniably, Sean‟s knowledge of life made him a self proclaimed skilled master of many professions; from a therapist to a psychologist; a teacher to a preacher BUT, most importantly a “BEST FRIEND” to ‘All’ of his family and friends . On February 15, 2011 the “„Disciplinarian‟, the „Diva‟ of all, took the lead in her traditional Rosemary fashion,” and grabbed the hand of this phenomenal individual; her baby, and lead him into her presence. His laughter, love and legacy will be missed immensely. He is survived by his mentor, best friend and father, Dr. Herbert L. Martin; His devoted, dedicated and inseparable brothers; Dr. Herbert (Peggy) Martin Jr. (San Diego, CA), Steven Martin, and Christian Martin; one nephew, Austin Martin; one niece, Paige Martin; an uncle, Addison T. Martin Jr.; cousins; Marty (Virdena) Martin, Diahnn Standfield, Carla Johnson, Coire Nichols (Herman) Houston, Selena (Tom) Hollingshed, Ruth Anne Holmes (Mckeesport, PA), The James Families, Octavia & Quintal Robinson, Bill Lattimer, Carla Cole and a host of additional family members including those whom he often cherished most; his plethora of friends globally!

Sean, My brother, my best friend, I will miss you terribly! The jokes, the times spent together, and our talks. Sean, I loved you so much. Your spirit and our love for one another will always be with me forever...Love, Steve
Sean was always the glue. He connected us; he connected others, and his ability to understand and engage people was masterful. He was always real, no pretense, just straight out. These qualities are hard to find in a person, and I admired these and so many other things about him. I will greatly miss his smile, warmth, and friendship. I love you, your brother, Herb
Seanthan, What am I going to do without you? My confidant, My protector, My advisor, My brother, My cousin, but Most Importantly, My Best Friend! I Loved You Unconditionally, as you with me. I know that you will be with me forever as my personal ‘Angel’ along with my Mommy...Until we meet again, my friend! Coire Denise
