Q. What are some of your goals for the next couple of years?

A. My goal for the next couple years is just to continue to grow as an artist, brand and business and to make the XXL Freshmen list

Q. Can you tell us some of the challenges you’ve had being in the music industry?

A. The challenge of just understanding that if I don’t do something or learn something, then when will I ever? So just holding myself more accountable!

Q. Are you working on any new events or projects?

A. I’m Akbartheg8 from Columbus,

OH: Rapper, songwriter, screenwriter and actor. I just recently signed to the iconic

Superwoman Karyn White’s new label Supernova Unlimited.

Q. Who inspired you to make music?

A. I’ve always been in love with making music so it’s hard to say.

Even as a kid, I used to make songs cracking jokes on my cousins and these songs all had verses and choruses. But, I can most definitely attribute my love for music to my mom!

Q. How would you describe the music that you typically write?

A. Two words: Truthful and vulnerable!

Q. Tell us about your single YRBG (Young Righteous Black Girl) and the motivation behind the song?

A. YRBG is an anthem for black women worldwide; a track that praises their mental and spiritual aspects. Black women were my first love and they’ve always poured into me, so it’s only right to reciprocate that same energy.

Q. Who are your top Five singers of all time?

A. My top five singers in no particular order, have to be Musiq Soulchild,

Avant, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, and of course, Ms. Karyn White! A. I have an EP entitled “Born King”, that I’m planning on releasing at the beginning of the summer.

Q. What is the best advice you’ve been given?

A. Do what they won’t, so you can do what they can’t!”
