Hi, my name is Cecilia. I started on my career path following my passion for artistic drawing, that later developed into studying architecture in Turin where I could learn how the traditional architecture helps to develop a better modern design. I got my Master in Architecture and design in Denmark in order to experience Scandinavian design and grow professionally in a sustainable-oriented environment.

about
architecture
My interest for your company takes roots in the particular way the firm integrates the complexity of design with an innovative use of materials. These elements have been the lymph of all my projects, where there is no clear separation between identities; one flows continuously into the other. I would like to contribute with my passion for architecture and urban design to imagine places where people can relate to each other and the environment and feel at home. I believe I will am a good asset for your firm because I am: -creative at concept development, focusing on the integration of design and users’ needs. -clear at representing ideas to the team by taking advantage of my sketching skills. -Precise in 3d and physical models production, tools I have been using myself in all my projects. I am an energetic person who likes team-working, I am curious and eager to challenge my skills by experiencing new challenges in design. I am striving to increase my architectural skills every day. I hope you enjoy my portfolio!

The project concerns the design of the extension of the National Museum of Finland, in Helsinki. The idea is to create the new volume by excavating the bedrocks under the ancient park, in order to preserve the famous garden. The idea of the pods recalls the shape of the many towers of the heritage building and it gives the opportunity to create a a spectacular play of light inside the exposition room. The concrete shells are made from recycled concrete to preserve the appearance of the bedrocks.

The project is the design of three different buildings, indskoling, udskoling and a multihall.. The concept is to open the building up to the surrounding context and work to soften the physical boundaries both between the school and the context, as well as between the outside/inside of the different rooms. The focal point for the development of the new Valhøj School is therefore to create a school that both in the design and the landscape around it create a modern and welcoming environment for kids.

The project concept is based on the idea of designing a photography museum on Sukkerbiten in Oslo. The building shape surrounds the public square that is divided into different areas. The reflecting facade of the museum creates the illusion of an infinite ocean captured in a doubled curved facade, as a big dynamic picture of the harbor, the boats, and the museum visitors. Inside the museum, the exhibition space can be divided by means of movable curtains according to the exposition design.

The marble quarries of Carrara, Italy, are ancient places, where centuries of quarrying have left a unique and remarkable landscape. This project explores visual, tactile and thermal sensations through an atmospheric journey devoted to sensual pleasure. The concept of the project is to create an experience of contrasts. Utilising different kinds of contrast, the differences of identities of the building and the surrounding marble are underscored.

In the design of the Pavillion for the seventh edition of Chart 2019 in Copenhagen, the main concept is to create a sensorial experience through the creative use of materials like elastic latex sheets, and inflated balloons inside the skin.
