is an adventure
FROM PASTOR
it’s that God’s plans are far bigger and greater than our plans. Life is an adventure! This past year has been full of twists, turns, and unforeseen events and circumstances that formed us into the people God chose to move his mission forward at CedarCreek of introducing people to Jesus and the life-changing adventure with him! No matter what is going on in our world, people still need to be introduced to Jesus and grow in their relationship with him, and he has placed us here in the communities we serve for such a time as this.

OUR MISSION NEEDS
Over this past year, we’ve been challenged with COVID disrupting our society, our lives, and many of our ministries as a church. However, it did not stop us! I’m so proud of our church! As you look through this annual report, please take some time to celebrate what we have accomplished together. Our mission needs your calling! God has so much in store for us both individually and together as a church, and I believe he’s gifted and equipped each of us to move this mission forward together.

OUR COMMUNITY NEEDS
As we move into this next year with the confidence that the best is yet to come and God is by our side, we have opportunities for amazing impact. However, the only way to do this is if we each leverage our voices and influence in the spaces where we live and work, with the relationships God has put in our paths — each of us realizing God is calling us to more, each of us having the spiritual vision to see how God is working and moving the pieces around us on a daily basis, and each of us believing “You Matter” about every person God places around us. Every invite — every conversation — matters!
r u o y Role
OUR CHURCH NEEDS
5
You have a role! Each of us has an important role to play, and I believe that is evident now more than ever! Let us come alongside of you to help you see how God has gifted and equipped you. If you’ve been through GrowthTrack, great — it may be good to revisit your purpose in this new season; and if you haven’t been through GrowthTrack, now is the time. There’s Kingdom work to do, and we are all called to join in the adventure. Now is the time! Together, the adventure continues!

Markers on the journey
Know God
GO
Mile marker one is not only where the life-changing adventure with God starts — it’s also where the adventure is sustained and completed. It doesn’t get left in the rearview mirror. It’s actually the marker for everything else on the adventure. Think of the weekend gatherings with practical teaching as base camp. We each take steps here to know God more — something about his heart, his character, who he is, and his constant invitation for us to be part of the bigger story he is writing, for today and for all eternity.

Through our weekend messages this past year, we’ve helped people to both know God better and to live out that authentic faith in bold ways. We offered spiritual principles to help people make the most of their summer and to find peace no matter what the world throws at us; we celebrated 25 years of relentlessly pursuing the lost and helping people take bold next steps on the spiritual journey; we talked about the division in our country and how to respond as the church; we learned what it looks like to live a blessed life and to speak only what is helpful for building others up; we talked about Jesus’ most powerful statements and what they mean for us today; we invited people to step out of the shadows at Easter, and to step into the bold, satisfying life God calls us to during The Adventure of You; and so much more! We can’t wait to see where the adventure God has us on, and the mission he has for our church, lead us next.

12
Last summer, 2020, our CedarCreek Family Ministry Camps were cancelled due to the pandemic, but this year we are back on track. Camps make a life-changing investment and impact in the Next Generation:
“Olivia was struggling at school and home. She was not plugged in at church, but about a month and a half before Fusion Camp, her mom reached out to see if there was anything we could do to help her. Because of the generosity of donors, Olivia received a scholarship allowing her to go to camp. That made such an impact on her family that they started occasionally attending on the weekends. At Fusion Camp, Olivia made really great friends. She now attends every weekend, and her family attends as well! Thanks to Fusion Camp, and the donations that allowed her to go, Olivia has a great circle of friends and is personally in a better place than she was before camp.”

Preparation and intentionality through routine habits are essential to the adventure. Reading God’s Word, praying, fasting, and even journaling our experiences along the way all add depth to our lives with God and help us see the meaning in the challenges we encounter.

We are a community of everyday people meeting together in Groups across NW Ohio and SE Michigan. We get honest about our lives in a smaller gathering where we talk, laugh, learn, serve, and grow together. Sometimes we’re driving motorcycles or playing disc golf, other times we're discussing a book of the Bible or Financial Peace University. No matter the type of Group, we share our lives and stories with each other, share Scripture, and pray together. This is often what God uses to accelerate life change on the adventure with Jesus.

Each month, Second Saturday Serves provide simple, meaningful projects that meet a tangible need to make a difference in someone’s life. From partnering with local organizations who are making an impact in under resourced neighborhoods, to landscaping for a widow, to delivering care packages to first responders, we offer help and hope as we show the world the love of Jesus.
Let’s Build Beds believes that every child deserves a bed of their own to sleep in at night, and they help children by providing a bed and empowering them to assemble it and be successful. At our April 2021 Second Saturday Serve, CedarCreek partnered with this organization and with The Tabernacle to assemble 50 beds! Two recipients were 10-year-old twin boys who were brought to the experience by their foster mom. They had a blast using power tools and spending time with supportive and fun adults… and they had a hand in building their own beds!

This longer stop was specifically for men on the life-changing adventure through the Men’s Event. Brian Tome was our special guest and he renewed our perspective of some of the bold, sometimes risky ways it’s necessary to move to keep following Jesus.

DISCOVER Moment to moment it might sound like this is an adventure for the sake of adventure, but this journey we’re on – we consider it to be THE adventure with God. We know God put us here on purpose for a purpose. Our personality, passions and place all point to our God-given purpose and how we are a part of his story. Our commitment is to provide GrowthTrack every weekend where we help others see it too. We don’t settle for safe and comfortable when we know the invitation is to go further and believe for more.

God’s dream is for more and more people to step into the life-changing adventure with him. One practical step after the next, God calls us to be a part of his dream, his team — the DreamTeam — and to live a full, wild, bold life so that his family will grow. Our goal isn’t to fill our seats with more of the already convinced. When we look into the pages of Scripture (and the truth of our own lives), we see a God who leaves the ninety-nine, who pursues at all costs, who rejoices each and every time a son or daughter comes back to the family. Our DreamTeam is committed to participating with God in this eternally significant work!

OUTREACH
Have you ever thought about trying to find a job, get to work, buy groceries or take the kids to the doctor without a car? It’s difficult, almost impossible, without a vehicle. CedarCreek Cars, led by members of our DreamTeam, is dedicated to helping provide and maintain safe and reliable transportation for families in need. “When we received the good news about the van my kids and I were so ecstatic that the kids did a happy dance and I of course cried tears of joy and praised God for such a wonderful blessing.” — L.E.

COVID RELIEF
In the spring of 2020, as our region began to reel from the impact of COVID, we recognized the opportunity to rise together and be light in the midst of so much darkness. As part of our Easter 2020 experience, we committed to giving away $1 for each person who experienced the service. Almost 25,000 people tuned in, allowing us to resource three community organizations who were providing food support to people in need. Those organizations were The United Way of Hancock County, The United Way of Greater Toledo, and The Tabernacle. We also purchased $5,000 of bottled water for individuals served by Cherry Street Mission.

The Workforce Partnership
PARTNERSHIPS The Tabernacle
We love the work The Tabernacle is doing in Toledo, and we relish opportunities to partner in making a practical impact in the name of Jesus!
Learning Centers were launched by
The Tabernacle as spaces where children received an abundance of resources to help them succeed. They were able to engage with online classes throughout the school year. Into the summer, they continued to receive tutoring and participate in enrichment from community organizations, all while knowing they were safe and cared for by an incredible staff.
Food Distribution The Tabernacle hosts two food pantries each week, providing bags of groceries to hundreds of families each month.
equips high school students to be successful as they transition into adulthood. This year, three CedarCreek locations were identified as Workforce Partnership sites. Each student who participated found summer employment, and many of those job opportunities were projects funded by CedarCreek donations (for example, the Green Team — landscapers who mow vacant lots).
Christmas Shoeboxes Christmas of 2020, CedarCreek teamed up with The Tabernacle to provide 465 shoeboxes full of toys, candy, and hygiene items to children from families who could use extra support. We were also able to donate $11,000, which provided a joy-filled Christmas to twenty families!
l a n o i t a N
PARTNERSHIPS Association of Related Churches 488 The local church is the hope of the world, so we get excited about more people being reached as new churches are planted! To help with church growth, we invest in the ARC, an association of relational churches working with church planters and church leaders to provide support, guidance and resources to launch and grow life-giving churches. ARC’s model has been proven through the launch of more than 900 churches across the U.S. and around the world, with large launch day attendance and long-term success that exceeds national averages.
Convoy of Hope
In 2020, we identified Convoy of Hope as a partner to help us make a difference in the face of disasters near and far. Convoy of Hope is a faith-based nonprofit organization with a driving passion to feed the world through children’s feeding initiatives, community outreaches, and disaster response. Financial support from CedarCreek played a role in the following impact:

MISSIONS
Working in International Missions for the global Kingdom, during a global pandemic, came with unexpected challenges, but God never stopped working through CedarCreek’s partnerships and your ongoing support. CDI After-school Programs While the CDI After-school Programs we partner with had to temporarily shut down their normal physical gatherings, they never stopped their day-to-day efforts to assist the children and their families. Instead, they used video calls to continue assisting children with school assignments and assessing family needs and shifted funds normally used for the daily lunches, school supplies, and school uniforms toward things like providing and delivering food for entire families who were unable to earn money due to pandemic restrictions. Plans are being made to relaunch the CDI's physical gatherings, and the CDI staff are so thankful to sponsors and other donors who make their work possible. They were also able to open two new CDI after-school programs in Olanchito and Valle De Angeles, Honduras, thanks to CedarCreek’s Legacy DreamTeam.

Total Health Medical Clinics continued to see patients in the early part of the pandemic and transitioned to seeing patients digitally when possible. As protective medical equipment become available, Total Health staff have started to see more patients in person. Thanks to CedarCreek’s Legacy Team, we were able to send a medical mission team to Central America and open a new Total Health Medical Clinic in Valle De Angeles, Honduras.
During the pandemic, the region around San Pedro Sula, Honduras, was also hit by two devastating hurricanes, only two weeks apart from each other. The region's local GCLA church was at the forefront of rescuing people from the heavy flooding and providing food and temporary shelter for those affected. Thanks to the ongoing generosity of our local church attenders, CedarCreek was able to assist our GCLA partners in Central America this year with $30,000 in hurricane relief funds and over $6,000 in basic video and audio equipment for digital services and local CDI outreach programs. A new multisite location for the church in La Ceiba, Honduras, will be ready to open when the pandemic allows, thanks in part to funds provided by CedarCreek.
