Algorhithmic Sketchbook Cedric Chua
Week 1 These models comprise of random tinkering. Commands like loft, piping, octree and luncbox panels were used. Will aim to research and attempt modelling more complex forms in the coming weeks, and with more direction too.
Week 2
Week 2’s task was to project a gradient onto a mesh surface. The surface was lofted from 5 curve expressions whose domain, range and amplitude can be adjusted to control the lofted surface.
A loft surface was created from 2 circles and a square. The curves are divided and geodetic curves are formed through the divided points.
Week 3 Kangaroo generated forms based on catenary shells, gridshells, tensile membranes and inflation.
Week 4
Above: Box Morph on a lofted surface. Right: Lofting two curves that were defined by expressions (Pi and the Golden Ratio)
Generation of curves from culling list patterns, curves are revolved.
Lofted field lines (controlled by graph mapper).
Week 5
Rhinovault forms
Week 6
Generation of voussoir geometry and application of gradient to surfaces using a point attractor.
