SHASHA LIAO I am a 3rd year Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Mathematics. My research area is Numerical PDEs. Before this course, I had little experience on drawing. Through this course, I learned the fundamentals of drawing, got a lot of practices, and is excited to have the opportunity to exhibit my favorite art works. “SPOOKY STILL LIFE” CHARCOAL ON PAPER, 18"x24" This work was done in the middle of the semester. It took me two studios to finish it. The technical challenges for me were dealing with the shinning spots on the bottle and the flow of the cloth lying under the objects.
