The Art of Lightening Up
Spring has sprung on our beautiful isle! The almond blossoms in full bloom, swimming season in near sight…and you have likely broken the New Year’s resolution that you were so hyped about at the start of the new decade. Am I right?! I’m right.
If that sounds like you, do not fret because you are for sure not alone. Most people really do crave to become better versions of themselves, but, let’s be honest, rarely do we ever transcend bad habits because of a New Year’s resolution. Why? Because New Year’s resolutions are in fact designed to break! The thing about personal transformation is that it only comes—and stays—when we really want it. The odds of that happening precisely on January 1st are 1/365 (read: not good)! So, I’m thinking we simply need a new approach. Let’s start by taking the word “should” all the way out of our vocabulary. Instead of asking yourself what you should start or stop doing (New-Year’s-resolutions style), ask yourself what you really want to start or stop doing. What can’t you stop thinking about? What is stirring inspiration inside of you? What would you do if time and money weren’t an issue? These are the things that matter of joy, we align with our highest selves and our innate spiritual gifts—and that’s when the magic really starts happening! There is no room for making half-hearted, “should”-based decisions when trying to live a rich and meaningful life. Instead, let’s be fully honest with what we really crave in our souls, and say no to anything that isn’t that. Let us follow what lights us up because when we do what lights us up, we’ll lighten up the whole world—and I can’t think of a better resolution than that! Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for our upcoming Conscious Living Mallorca expo (follow us on Instagram @ consciouslivingmallorca) in September 2020 to mingle with like-minded, lit-up people on the island.
Poet Charles Bukowski put it this way:
The more we start focusing on what brings us authentic joy, the quicker our ascent to the best versions of ourselves can occur, because joy is the true language of the universe. When we align with the vibration
