PACIFIC CREST ACCOYO AMERICA THE MARK OF QUALITY The most important decision you will make upon entering the alpaca industry – one that will affect your success in the alpaca industry for years to come – is where you purchase your foundation stock of alpacas. This is important for three reasons – Quality, Support, and Selection.

Quality

At Accoyo America, we have the highest quality breeding stock available to maximize the return on your investment. The seed doesn’t fall far from the tree! In any breeding stock industry, a relatively small percentage of the male offspring are retained for stud service. The alpaca breeder with top breeding stock is often able to sell his/her male crias for the same (or higher) price than the female crias, thereby nearly doubling the investment return. When shopping for your first alpacas, it’s important to look at the breeder’s sale prices for their male offspring. This will give you a good idea of the marketability of their alpacas in general. At Pacific Crest, the sale price of our males frequently exceeds that of our female offspring. Many visitors to the ranch marvel at the uniform quality of Pacific Crest stock. Many existing breeders come to upgrade their own stock by purchasing males from us. Much of the reason for this uniformity is due to the fact that most of our breeding stock is from Estancia Accoyo in Macusani, Peru. The late Don Julio Barreda practiced the most rigid selective breeding of alpacas in all of South America. This selective family line breeding produced a herd famous for its uniform density and fineness. Our Accoyo-bred offspring reflect Senor Barreda’s fine breeding program, and we’re extremely proud of them.

Support

Our customers’ success is our own. Nothing gives us more pleasure in this business than seeing our customers succeed in their financial and lifestyle investment in alpacas. We strive to build a close relationship with our buyers for two reasons. First, we want to ensure that our alpacas end up in good homes. Second, we want to ensure that our customers’ transition to their new lifestyle is as smooth as possible, and that they feel secure in their new lifestyle and investment decision. We are always available to answer questions regarding nutrition, veterinary care and breeding. We’re prepared to assist with marketing, including sales advice and brokering services.

Selection

With more than 200 alpacas on the farm in a full spectrum of colors, you are guaranteed to find one you love! With both huacayas and suri’s at Pacific Crest, one-stop shopping is readily available. Accoyo America has the largest selection of full blood Accoyo offspring for sale in North America. We look forward to seeing you at the Parade of Champions Auction Saturday, July 2, 2011!

Our 2011 Parade of Champions Sale is a must attend for serious alpaca breeders for no other reason than to see and inspect a full range of styles of elite fleeces. The seminars should be very interesting, the food and music great, and the company beyond compare.

2011 Seminar Speakers Ahmed Tibary, DVM, PhD, Diplomate ACT Ahmed Tibary received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Morocco (1980), Master (1984) and PhD (1989) from the University of Minnesota. He is Board certified by the American College of Theriogenologists as a specialist in reproductive diseases and artificial breeding (1991). Breeding alpacas is a family business for Alpacas de la Patagonia. With alpaca ranches in both North and South America, we take pride in merging the distinct animal husbandry techniques and breeding strategies of the two hemispheres. We are located at Port Susan on Camano Island – an hour’s drive north of Seattle. On occasion, we are treated to the sight of whales from our alpaca fields! A visit to our 200 acre farm reveals several hundred huacayas and suris, in a wide spectrum of colors, grazing the lush, green pastures. We are well-known for putting some of our best alpacas up for auction. This year is no exception. All alpacas sell with our legendary customer support; our job is not over after the sale is made. We are committed to supporting our clients in all aspects of their alpaca endeavors - whether it is needed the day of purchase or 5 years later! In addition to fleece quality, our bloodlines are well known for their high fertility and live-birth rates, as well as for their excellent mothering instinct and milk supply. All open females sell with a free breeding to the Patagonia herdsire of Buyer’s choice. A purchase of an alpaca from Patagonia, makes Buyer eligible to use any of the Patagonia herdsires (including those herdsires which are restricted) to breed any of their females to. We look forward to spending the July 4th weekend with you. Hugo, Karen, Isabella, Sofia and Joaquin

In 2011, he won his first Get of Sire competition at Alpacapalooza with his first three offspring. Fleece analysis at age 1: AFD 18.8 microns, SD 3.1 microns, CV 16.5%, % over 30 0.4%. Accoyo America Shogun

Accoyo America Shogun is a combination of the genetics of Legacy, Hemingway and Sicuani. He’s a result of a breeding cross of Legacy and Sequin, full sister to Nautilus. In 2007, he won the Supreme Huacaya Male Championship at the International Alpaca Odyssey and the AOBA National White Color Championship. He’s moderately dense, very fine and uniform with heavy coverage down his legs. We plan to use him extensively to upgrade fineness. Show Record: • 2006 Futurity White Color Reserve Champion Male • 2007 Futurity White Color Champion Huacaya Male • 2006 MAPACA 1st Place Huacaya White Juvenile Male • 2007 MAPACA White Color Reserve Champion Huacaya Male • 2007 IAO Supreme Huacaya Male Champion • 2007 AWE 1st Place Huacaya White Yearling Male • 2007 AOBA National White Color Champion Huacaya Male

Accoyo America Mahatma

Mahatma has one of the highest character fleeces in our stud row. With a moderately long staple that separates into distinct bundles of well-defined crimp, soft-handle fiber, he has been our most dominant male in the show ring over the past two years. He’s an El Nino so Accoyo America North Star We’re just beginning to use North Star in 2008. He’s an El Nino cross with Sequoia, Nautilus’ full sister. He’s very typey and straight with a pure elite fleece that combines a moderately fine crimp and long staple length and independent bundling with a high degree of uniformity. Show Record: • 2006 IAO 1st Place Huacaya White Junior Male • 2006 MAPACA 1st Place Huacaya White Juvenile Male • 2006 AWE 1st Place Huacaya White Juvenile Male • 2007 AWE White Color Champion Huacaya Male • 2006 Futurity Light Color Champion Huacaya Male • 2007 Futurity 1st Place Huacaya Beige Yearling Male • 2007 MAPACA Light Color Reserve Champion Huacaya Male • 2006 AOBA National White Color Champion Huacaya Male • 2007 AOBA Light Color Champion Huacaya Male

Accoyo America Navigator

A son of Hemingway-Accoyo Nautilus and AOBA Brown Color Champion Mulberry, Navigator has transferred the fineness, fine crimp and long staple length of Nautilus to a dark fawn fleece. He is a strong breeder, with perfect conformation and true-to-type head. Fleece values at age 2: AFD 22.2 microns, SD 4.0 microns, CV 18.0%, % over 30 3.7%. Accoyo America Polaris

Polaris is perhaps our densest, most uniform herdsire. A full-Accoyo son of El Nino and AAA Futurity Color Champion Pussywillow, he is a fusion of Caligula, Auzengate, and an Accoyo dam we believe to be of the same lineage as Legacy (Pucara) with a striking head and profile and a fleece described by a judge as “the best he’s ever seen.” He’s in heavy use on our stud row. Fleece analysis at age 1: AFD 17.6 microns, SD 3.6 microns, CV 20.5%, % over 30 0.6%. 2007 Shear weight was 12.4 pounds total, 6.8 blanket. Herdsires

Accoyo America Denali

Denali is a product of the most reliable cross in our breeding program—El Nino over Stefani. Stefani is the daughter of the renowned Sicuani and an unknown (to us) herdsire in the Accoyo Estancia breeding program— but thought to be Rasputin. He’s similar in phenotype to his older full brother Endeavor, with a powerful frame, heavy shear weight (12+ pounds), long staple and fine crimp style. Histogram: AFD 18.3 microns, SD 3.5 microns, CV 19.1%, % over 30 0.8% Show Record: • 2007 AOBA National 2nd Place Full Fleece Juvenile White Male Huacaya • 2008 Alpaca Western Extravaganza 1st Place Yearling White Huacaya Male • 2008 Alpaca Western Extravaganza Reserve Champion White Color Huacaya Male • 2008 The Futurity1st Place Yearling White Huacaya Male

Accoyo America Ulysses

Ulysses is a full-Accoyo El Nino son notable for his brilliant, fine-crimped, independently bundled and uniform fleece. It was clear from his early days that he had a unique combination of density and fineness on a structurally sound, harmonically-balanced frame. Fleece analysis is as follows: Age 1 AFD 15.3 microns, SD 3.2 microns, CV 21.1%, % over 30 0.4%; Age 4 AFD 21.8 microns, SD 4.1 microns, CV 18.9%, % over 30 2.5% 2007 Shear Weight was 11.4 pounds total, 6.0 pounds blanket. Show Record: • 2006 IAO Supreme Champion Male & Best Head Male Huacaya • 2006 Alpaca Western Extravaganza Reserve Champion White Huacaya Male • 2004 MAPACA Jubilee Reserve Champion White Huacaya Male

Camilio’s Accoyo Endurance

This fawn full-Accoyo son is co-owned with Mary’s Alpaca in Virginia. He is characterized by extreme density, a strong head, and loose rolling skin. His offspring are high density and exhibit dramatic character with highamplitude crimp and independent bundling. In AOBA National 2005 show he placed second in the Get of Sire with only 5 crias on the ground. He has continued to excel in Get of Sire competitions, and placed First in the MAPACA 2007 Get of Sire with three full-Accoyo sons. Fleece analysis at age 1: AFD 21.2 microns, SD 4.6 microns, CV 21.7%, % over 30 3.3%. Show Record: • 2002 Western Alpaca Extravaganza Reserve Champion Light Huacaya Male • 2001 AAA Futurity 1st Place Huacaya Light Male

PCA Hemingway-Accoyo Nautilus

Nautilus is an offspring of Hemingway and our top B-line Accoyo female, Sicuani. Both he and his full-sister, Sequin, have won the coveted AOBA White Color Championship. He has had the finest-crimped fleece we have seen, with microbundling and long staple length. 2007 Shear Weight was 9.2 pounds. Cassia 2011 MAE

Sire: Patagonia’s Montero Dam: Fiona This girl has the fleece of a champion and the proven genetics to back up a promising future as a top producer. Mi Vida’s dam Fiona, is the ½ sister to Patagonia’s Juneau and Black Ice. Year after year, their dam, Preciosa, produces offspring that are judged to be some of the best in the country. In her first show at the age of 9 months, Mi Vida was the brown champion. Comments from the judge, Wade Gease, included the words “scrumptious fleece.” She has a fleece that has both extreme density and fineness, along with pleasing brightness and a very high frequency crimp that is uniform from her belly to her topline and up her neck. Mi Vida is sired by Montero, a true black, solid-colored Nishio son. Montero’s dam is the matriarch of our most successful best black line which includes such well-known alpacas as Queen, Black Rose, Capoira, Simone and Sombra -- all AOBA Nationals black color champions. Mi Vida sells with a breeding to the Patagonia herdsire of Buyer’s choice. If it were our decision to make, we would breed her to one of our black studs.

Blending the genetics of Kirwin and Crescent Moon’s Kryptonite, Cassia has it all. Beauty, extraordinary density, fineness, staple development and uniformity complete her all around excellence. Cassia’s dam is Crescent Moon’s Chellina, a black Kryptonite daughter who still has maintained a sub 20.5 micron fleece into her fifth year. Not too shabby for an alpaca of any color and exceptional for a black. Black alpacas of Cassia’s quality are not common place. Now select her first breeding and make her first cria even better. That is the goal! So, who would you go to for that? We would probably select mega champion Crescent Moon’s Thelonius or his dad, Crescent Moon’s Valentino.

Crescent Moon’s Isidora is a daughter of one of our female all time greats here at Crescent Moon Ranch. Izzy is the first daughter produced from our incredible Poseidon daughter, Crescent Moon’s Accoyo Posie. Posie pretty much won everything she could during the spring show season back in 2005, and her offspring thus far are emulating her success. Crescent Moon’s Accoyo Nobility (a Legacy son) and Crescent Moon’s Accoyo Elizario (an Elite son) are each breeding studs here and they also had very distinguished show careers. Now Isidora is carrying the torch and carrying it high we might add. Already experiencing great show ring success, the judges have been swept away with her combination of density and fineness. One tidbit we haven’t yet mentioned..She didn’t get all of this greatness from Posie alone. We feel pretty comfortable saying that it doesn’t hurt that she is also a daughter of Crescent Moon’s Shiftin Gears!

Full Accoyo Huacaya Male  DOB: 7/19/10 Color: White  ARI#: 32085532 Sire: Accoyo Ulysses Dam: Accoyo Aspen

Sire: Ulysses IAO Supreme Champion

Atlas is a full Accoyo offspring of Accoyo Ulysses and Aspen, and full brother of Omega (Reserve White Champion at AWE, CABA and AOBA National). He is truly a regal male of the same caliber as Ulysses, two-time IAO Supreme Champion. His fleece style is very similar to sister Omega’s, with a sharply defined crimp, individual bundling, and brilliance, although Atlas has a slightly longer staple. His alert presence and upright conformation make him a standout. The fleece he carries on his impressive frame really sets him apart, however. While he’s very fine at 15.2 microns, he’s also very uniform with an SD of 3.3 and CV of 21.8%. Atlas only carries 0.1% of fibers over 30 microns, giving him a comfort factor of 99.9%. Sire: El Nino’s Accoyo Vulcan Dam: Crescent Moon’s Legacy’s Princess Gorgeous, one simple word that comes to mind when assessing Crescent Moon’s Arianna. Her stunning good looks in combination with her beautiful and very advanced fleece lend credence to her excellence. We consider Arianna to be great “show stock” but even better than that, “high end breeding stock”. We have built a white breeding program around her heritage. Her dam is an incredible Legacy daughter, Crescent Moon’s Legacy’s Princess. We showed L.P. very successfully when she was a cria. Today, she still retains a sub 20 micron fleece at 5 years of age. Arianna’s grand dam, Peruvian Blanca, a Sollocota import female carried the same sub 20 micron fleece at age 8 and now at the advanced age of 15 is still only 22 micron. By the fact that Arianna is a Vulcan daughter, you know that we have added some great attributes to her collective self, inclusive of pedigree, fiber, and phenotype. Arianna sells with a breeding to any Crescent Moon stud. We would go with Elite or Shiftin Gears.

Mulberry is an offspring of Accoyo Camilio and Peruvian Destiny, a black female that was our top pick in the 1997 import. I’ve had many people ask me to call them first if I ever wanted to sell her. Mulberry has been successful in the show ring, winning the following championships: 2002 MAPACA Brown Color Champion 2002 CABA Brown Color Champion

2002 AOBA Brown Color Champion

2002 AAA Futurity Reserve Brown Color Champion 2003 AWE Reserve Brown Color Champion

More importantly, she’s bred true in the paddock. Her offspring have included Navigator, AOBA, MAPACA, Futurity and AWE Brown Color Champion and IAO Reserve Grand Champion; and Chianti, AOBA Reserve Brown Color Champion and AWE Brown Color Champion.

Mulberry has a pleasing true-to-type head and frame, with an elite mahogany fleece that is characterized by a fine crimp style, very soft handle, excellent brightness and independent bundling. She’s bred to IAO Supreme Champion Legacy son, Accoyo America Shogun for a September 2011 birth.

Full Peruvian, true black, beautiful and silky are all terms relevant to describing Manzanita. She is just lovely to look at with her very typey appearance and a fleece that just drapes and glistens. Her Peruvian background involves the blending of two genetic titans, Accoyo Victor and 5Peruvian Royal Inca Legend. Manzanita’s dam, Eternity, is a Vaccoyo daughter. Her sire, Francisco, hails from the Incan Legend line made famous by the good people at Knoblock Prairie Ranch. Manzanita is very fine and boldly crimped with outstanding uniformity. Many would say that hers is a “silky” fleece and we would agree. For her first breeding, you will have a difficult decision to make. Difficult only because of the wide selection of options. Her lovely beige fleece does not reveal what Crescent Moon’s Sillueta is all about. But a look at her pedigree will and with that information, it will also become apparent why we have bred her the way that we did. We thought about her first pairing all autumn and winter and we could never stop thinking about Sillueta and Nitro. So there you go, Sillueta is bred to Crescent Moon’s Nitro and we like it a lot! Here is why! Striking conformation and regal style grace the presence of the lovely Crescent Moon’s Sillueta. The same is true for Nitro. Sillueta’s silky fleece combines good density and fineness with an extended staple and a well formed lock style. The same is true for Nitro’s. Sillueta is a very quality female. Nitro is a very quality stud. Sillueta’s very colorful pedigree incorporates the great names of Mr. Know it All, Incan Magic, Andrajo and Mr. Roosevelt. Nitro’s pedigree is equally as colorful, equally as excellent but completely different. Once you see Sillueta you will like her. If we had Nitro at the sale to look at, you would like him too!

She’s a true combination of density, fineness and uniformity with an AFD of 16.5 microns and SD of 3.7. Her sire, Accoyo America Sai-Hoji is a beige son of Legacy and Zinnia, an El Nino daughter. Sai-Hoji was an AWE Light Color Champion with a fine-crimp fleece. Aymara’s a granddaughter of Futurity Champion Accoyo Pussywillow. I would recommend a breeding of this elite female to Accoyo Mahatma or Endurance.

Sylvan is a full-Accoyo offspring of two-time IAO Supreme Champion Ulysses and the renowned Pussywillow, dam of Endurance, Polaris, and Prometheus. She has the dramatic head and coverage of Pussywillow and her older sister Williwaw, and is also exquisitely fine with a first clip of 13.5 microns, SD of 3.2 and only 0.3% over 30 microns. Lorelei is the daughter of the incomparable Peruvian Selasia. We have owned Selasia for about 5 years and what a producer she has been. Her son Crescent Moon’s Sixtus now breeds in western Pennsylvania and participates in the very young but accomplished breeding program owned by Alma and Michael Gelorme, at Heaven’s Hill Alpacas. Her daughter Black Diamonds, had an illustrious show career and is now a cornerstone of our black program here at Crescent Moon Ranch. So now you understand why Lorelei is so beautiful. You can see by her picture she is very well put together and her fleece does not disappoint. Dense and crimpy she is growing a significantly long staple while retaining good fineness and strong reflective properties to her fleece. She sells with a breeding and your choices for her are world class. We like Thelonius, Kane or Cisco Kid, but an old standby like Adonnis, Kirwin or Valentino would certainly make us think twice.

Oh Gweneth, how art thou fair maiden? Ok, so my “middle ages” English is in need of a tune up! But I got your attention. Maybe? This past year marks the first of Gear Jammer’s production and we are pleased! Witness Gweneth! Producing a fleece which is dense, bright, long, fine and very uniformed in micron, length and color; Gweneth is revealing traits which are very true to her DNA. These traits are among the attributes, which made both Shiftin Gears and Gear Jammer (father and son) so successful in the show ring. As we write this, Gweneth is recently weaned but she is already very well grown and she retains the wonderful disposition which this line is also becoming known for. These guys are laid back!

Sire: Accoyo America Endeavor Dam: Accoyo America Nea Neo is another spectacular full-Accoyo offspring of Accoyo America Endeavor—dense, fine and uniform. We plan to use him in the Get-ofSire competitions for Endeavor this spring. His first clip histogram is as follows: AFD 15.6 microns, SD 3.7, CV 23.6%, % over 30 0.7%. Genetically, Neo is a combination of the Caligula-El Nino lines with the Accoyo Sicuani-Stefani lines that have produced Nautilus, Sequin, Joseph, Denali, and Endeavor himself. Emmanuelle is a full Accoyo daughter of Elite and Chachita. Elite’s praises have been sung for many years and deservedly so. Chachita however is new to the reproductive scene and based on the excellence found in Emmanuelle, we eagerly look forward to a long history with her. So that you know, Chachita is a full sister to Senor Accoyo Vulcan, the 2008 AOBA National Show White Reserve Male Champion Fleece. That makes Emmanuelle not only an Elite daughter, but an El Nino granddaughter and a Vengador great granddaughter. Emmanuelle maintains runway model good looks and ideal conformation, while her fleece reveals excellent density and fineness along with extended staple length and superior brightness. Full Accoyo females are not created like this every day. Emmanuelle sells with a breeding. We have some great options for you to consider. Nobility would probably top the list but we would also consider Crescent Moon’s Legacy’s Adieu. He is the last cria born to us from Legacy and what a gift he is.

A fusion of the genetics of the Caligula, Hemingway & Sicuani lines, Tronador is a veritable factory of cashmere like fleece—dense, long staples of high frequency crimp fleece with superb fiber-to-fiber uniformity. With an average fiber diameter of 16.2 microns, Tronador has a standard deviation of only 2.4 microns, CV of 14.9%, and 0.2% of fibers over 30 microns. His Comfort factor is 99.8% and spinning fineness is 15.0 microns. In addition to his striking fleece qualities, he has a true-to-type masculine head and robust frame. Full Accoyo Female Huacaya  DOB: 7/27/10 Color: White  ARI#: 32085549

Male Huacaya  DOB: 8/25/10 Color: Modern Silver Grey  ARI# 31690522

Sire: Accoyo Endeavor Dam: Accoyo Talara

Sire: Patagonia’s Kaspa Dam: Patagonia’s Aleksandra

Tallahassee is an ultrafine but dense full-Accoyo daughter of Accoyo America Endeavor. She is a pleasing combination with the density of the Accoyo “A” line and the fineness and uniformity of the Accoyo “B” line. She is a solid true-to-type female in appearance and it’s hard to beat her histogram, with an AFD of 15.9 microns, SD of 3.1, CV of 19.7%, and % over 30 of 0.4%. Her spinning fineness is 15.3 microns and comfort factor is 99.6%. She should have a very heavy shear weight with exquisite character. I would recommend a breeding to El Nino son Accoyo Manchu.

Icaro is a quality grey boy descending from black and grey genetics. Icaro’s sire, Kaspa, is a 6-time grey champion and the top grey herdsire at Patagonia with over 100 offspring on the ground. Icaro’s dam, Aleksandra, is a fine-fleeced, true-black Neruda daughter. Icaro is the ¾ brother to Love Sonnet, a Neruda look-alike that was on our showstring in 2010. This junior herdsire has a beautiful grey fleece that is soft, bright and dense.

Sire: Accoyo America Centurion Dam: Accoyo America Callista

Sire: Camilio’s Accoyo Endurance Dam: Pacific Crest Accoyo Arcadia

Kallisto is a full Accoyo fawn male produced by two AOBA National Show Fawn Color Champions, Centurion and Callista. He’s dense with high character and excellent bundle separation. His uniformity is reflected by an SD of 3.8 and CV of 19.7%. He’s a proud upright male that reminds me of the stem of his maternal line, Accoyo Camilio.

Our most dramatic full-Accoyo fawns have been produced by crossing Accoyo Endurance with fawn females of the Accoyo Caligula lines. Kailua is a full sister of the great Accoyo America Marathon, the highest selling lot ever sold at the Parade of Champions (277k). She is a fusion of the genetics of Accoyo sires Camilio, Auzengate, and Caligula. Kailua’s fleece is a very soft, honey-colored, elite fleece with an AFD of 18.7 microns. She has a very pleasing Camilio-style head. A breeding to Accoyo America Polaris, Futurity Champion and AOBA Fleece Show Judges Choice winner, should produce champion-quality full Accoyo fawn offspring.

Lot 39  Crescent Moon’s Giggles

Lot 37  Accoyo America Ebony

Female Huacaya  DOB: 7/26/10 Color: White  ARI# 32156782

Female Huacaya  DOB: 10/21/10 Color: Black  ARI#: 32085860

Sire: 5Peruvian Chaccu 9063 Dam: Crescent Moon’s Happy

Sire: Accoyo America Jason Dam: 5Peruvian Destiny

Crescent Moon’s Happy is one of our top Legacy daughters and so the decision to breed her to the great Chaccu was an easy one. In an attempt to have more of Chaccu’s blood running through our herd, we are breeding him to some of our best females each year just hoping to be able to keep a few of them as foundation females. We have produced a couple of sons who can help carry that load, but it has occurred to us recently that we should collect some of his greatness in the female version as he is now getting on in years.

Ebony is a striking black female daughter of 5Peruvian Destiny, a black Peruvian import and our top pick in the 1997 import. Destiny has produced many fine offspring including Mulberry, the Brown AOBA National Color Champion, Phoenicia, the Black AOBA National Color Champion, and Butternut, the Fawn AOBA National Reserve Champion. Ebony’s sire is Jason, the two-time AOBA National Brown Champion. With her perfect stunning head, upright conformation and dense high-character fleece, she exudes championship qualities. My only hesitation in recommending a breeding to Dark Fawn AOBA Champion Navigator is that I know we’ll have to compete with the offspring in the show ring.

Giggles is striking, and crossing her full Peruvian heritage through Chaccu and Legacy is a very good thing indeed. Her fleece reveals outstanding brightness and advanced fineness. A fleece to be worn around the neck! For her first breeding, we know exactly who we would choose. Either Accoyo Elizario or Uriah would shine with this pairing. Come to think of it, so would that cria’s fleece!

Lot 38  Accoyo America Kahalui Female Huacaya  DOB: 6/28/10 Color: Light Brown  ARI#: 31889575 Sire: Accoyo America Mahatma Dam: Accoyo America Ruby Accoyo America Mahatma is unique in his ability to produce high character, dense and fine fleeces with exquisite color and brightness. Kahalui is a great example with her dense, iridescent light brown fleece, true-to-type head and upright conformation. I’d recommend an early fall breeding to Accoyo America Navigator, 2006 AOBA National Show, Futurity MAPACA and AWE Fawn Color Champion.

Lot 40  Crescent Moon’s Helois Bred Female Huacaya  DOB: 8/7/08 Color: Beige  ARI# 31357388

Sire: Crescent Moon’s Shiftin Gears Dam: Skyline Alpacas Previa’s Girl Service Sire: Kirwin  Due Date: 2/5/2012

Shiftin Gears does it again! Or, should we say that Previa does it again! Either way two great producers come through once more for us. Skyline Previa is actually a product of Mary Jaffe’s program at Skyline Alpacas. We wrestled Previa away from Mary a few years back, and let’s just say we did well on that deal. Along with being the dam of Helois, Previa is also the mother of the incredible Crescent Moon’s Propel owned by Kenn and Laurie Hugos of Zumbador Alpacas. Helois brings together an outstanding collection of traits which we have found common to her heritage. As one would consider assessing traits, her good relative fineness is exceeded only by her advanced density and streamlined uniformity. Said succinctly, she has a lovely fleece! We have paired her with Kirwin. We will acknowledge that we are chasing a wee bit of color here with this breeding, but we are not compromising on anything. Kirwin is a striking alpaca who is retaining his fineness and still possessing all the traits that made him such a great champion. There are a lot of great things happening here. As Tom Simmons would say (and we paraphrase)…..”We hope you are paying attention here.”

This elegant young female has one of the brightest high-character fleeces we produced in 2010. It parts easily into uniform, well defined bundles and has a very soft handle, with a comfort factor of 99.6%.

Kahneeta is a cross of the genetics of the Hemingway-Accoyo line (Nautilus grandsire) and the Accoyo “A” line (El Nino grandsire-Mahatma sire). She carries a dense, heavy 18.0 micron fleece on a robust, true-to-type frame. She has excellent bundling with a long bright staple. Kahneeta will be a great production female and should be ready for a breeding to Road Warrior or North Star by late summer.

Hanalei, like her dam Yemaya is very true-to-type. Her sire, Ulysses is an El Nino son and has won the IAO Supreme Championship twice and was the AOBA National Fleece Show Judges Choice winner. I would recommend a breeding of this fine female to Accoyo America Polaris.

Zina is a full sister of one of our top herdsires, Road Warrior. This combination of Nautilus and El Nino daughter Zinnia, like her brother, combines a robust frame with a dense high-character fleece. She will make an excellent production female and I would recommend a breeding to Legacy-Sequin cross, Accoyo America Shogun.

Whitehorse is our finest son of one of our most prepotent young herdsires, North Star. North Star is a son of El Nino and Nautilus’ full sister Sequoia. Whitehorse combines true-to-type physical characteristics with heavy coverage and a pleasing head with an exquisite, uniform fleece. Whitehorse has an AFD of 14.0 microns, SD of 3.1, CV of 22.4% and only 0.4% over 30 microns. Comfort factor is 99.6% and spinning fineness is 13.7 microns. Sambuca’s dam is a fine, true-black female whose fleece is still soft to the touch at 16+ years of age. It is females like Black Velvet, that we brought to this country from Chile, that have helped us achieve dark-colored alpaca fleeces that maintain good fineness as they age into their second decade. Sambuca’s sire, Vittorio, is a solidcolored Nishio son. Sambuca sells with a breeding to the Patagonia herdsire of Buyer’s choice.

There are not many of these guys available anymore. Full Accoyo sons of 4Peruvian Legacy are rare indeed. And this one is difficult for us to let go of. The reality is that competition for breedings is very competitive here. So we make this magnificent alpaca available for you today. Crescent Moon’s Accoyo Turibias is a true macho. With looks that could place him on “Alpaca GQ” (were there such a periodical), he is definitely his father’s son. His extreme coverage and symmetrical lines, in conjunction with his gorgeous head, make him an instant eye catcher. Turibias is a Camilio grandson and the combination of Legacy and Camilio have united to provide him with an expressive fleece of high frequency and moderate amplitude crimp. It is beautiful to part and blinding to look at and incorporates all of the components that made Legacy important to our industry here in the USA. While he grows significant staple length, Turibias also displays very good density and fineness. If you have ever wanted to own a Legacy son, we would encourage you to take hard look at Crescent Moon’s Accoyo Turibias. You will be glad that you did!

One look at Lanita’s fleece and you are going to like it. Actually, looking at her fleece reminds us a lot of Lunar Breeze’s fleece who happens to be her sire and so consequently there is a lot to like. Lanita is a beauty, bred for a high end breeding program which specializes in dark colors. Lunar Breeze’s dam and grand dam readily produce black when breed that way and Ita (Lanita’s dam) is true black. Selecting the breeding which produced Lanita was all about producing a female; which would then go on to produce excellence in color. When you see her fleece you will recognize the potential to achieve that goal. Lanita’s fleece is dense and fine and very expressive. Her extended staple length is a trait true to her heritage. We like Lanita bred to a myriad of our studs. We will help you with that decision when the time is right, but already we like Thelonius, Donato, Adonnis, and the Cisco Kid.

So that it is understood, we take our place in this annual event very seriously and we try to demonstrate that with the quality production that we bring. The fact that Chellina has two offspring here means outwardly to us that she is sponsoring fantastic cria. And so we look at Clarisse. Well grown and lovely, Clarisse is a picture in the field. Her silky fleece shimmers as it reflects the sun’s rays and the softness of that fleece completes the portrait. That soft hand is fully understood when her histogram numbers are revealed. Lot 60  Crescent Moon’s Accoyo Evangelina Bred Female Huacaya  DOB: 8/17/09 Color: White  ARI# 31738361

Sire: 6Peruvian Accoyo Elite 5057 IMPR98 Dam: Senorita Accoyo Chiquita

Sire: 6Peruvian Accoyo Elite 5057 IMPR98

Service Sire: Crescent Moon’s Accoyo Nobility  Due Date: 2/5/12

Sire: 6Peruvian Accoyo Elite 5057 IMPR98 Dam: Pristina’s Accoyo Princessa

Crescent Moon’s Evangelina is a full Accoyo daughter by 6Peruvian Accoyo Elite and Senorita Accoyo Chiquita. Chiquita is the dam of Senor Accoyo Vulcan, the 2008 AOBA National Show White Reserve Male Champion Fleece. So Evangelina has great parentage! Evangelina retains her dad’s patented silky, glossy fleece with good density and fineness. We have always liked crossing our Elite and Legacy lines and have had great success doing so. The practice is repeated here with Evangelina’s pairing to Crescent Moon’s Accoyo Nobility. Nobility is one of our finest Legacy sons. He is not only a son of Legacy but also of mega champion Crescent Moon’s Accoyo Posie a Poseidon daughter. Nobility is absolutely excelling for us as a producer in the early going, so we are very excited about this mating. When you see this cria in another 7 or 8 months we think you will understand why we keep this enthusiasm!

What a stunner! Crescent Moon’s Edistius is beautiful to look at. His thunderous legs with their extreme coverage and his striking head bare up under all scrutiny and so does his fleece. Edistius is producing a monster fleece in his first year. As a full Accoyo son of 6Peruvian Accoyo Elite, we expected some volume, but his is beyond abundant. With an absurd staple length (over 6.5 inches at 10 months of growth) and excellent density, Edistius is a fleece machine of quality fleece. That big fleece also incorporates some very excellent fineness, softness and Elite’s patented “luster”. There is good reason for this volume and the quality as his Accoyo heritage is tried and true. Edistius offers a blend of genetic traits rarely found together when considering the cross between Elite and Pachacuti. It is a fine cross indeed!

Lot 64  Accoyo America Jacob

Sire: Strider of the Shire Dam: Crescent Moon’s Faith

Service Sire: Crescent Moon’s Shiftin Gears  Due Date: TBD

Crescent Moon’s Faith was sent outside for her first pairing and Fay was the product of that union. As you can see, Fay is beautiful. Her huge bones, compact frame and pleasing head provide insights into her excellence. Her fleece is dense with good fineness, high frequency and low amplitude crimp. She has been paired with Shiftin Gears for continued improvements to her already lovely fleece. Breeding is all about pairing the strengths and weaknesses of two alpacas so that they compliment and optimize with one another. We absolutely believe that this breeding supports that previous statement. Fay alone is “golden” but bred to Shiftin Gears she is a “diamond”.

Sire: Crescent Moon’s Kryptonite Dam: Nasahuento’s Poppy

Sire: El Nino’s Accoyo Vulcan Dam: Crescent Moon’s Infinity

Service Sire: Crescent Moon’s Donato  Due Date: 8/22/11

This full Peruvian beauty hails from a special maternal line. Crescent Moon’s Infinity (Ilsa’s dam) is a daughter of Trinity. Trinity (now deceased) was a dear alpaca we gained when we purchased the Tellier herd some years ago now. It is very easy to see where an abundance of Ilsa’s beauty comes from. Infinity is a striking alpaca and Trinity was the same. As revealed by her histogram, Ilsa retains a very fine fleece. Along with those impressive numbers and upon inspection of her fleece, be prepared to witness very soft handle, sensational brightness and advanced architecture. Now consider the breeding which Ilsa sells with. We like several options here and they are in no particular order. Kirwin is enticing to consider. We also very much like Shiftin Gears, Gear Jammer and Nobility, all for different but subtle reasons. Let’s talk and we will make this decision together.

As time moves along, each of us has genetic lines in our breeding programs which become more and more revered. Such is the case with Morning Glory’s maternal line. Crescent Moon’s Morning Glory is the maternal sister to Crescent Moon’s Rayo del Sol. To say that their dam, Poppy, has had a sizeable impact on our breeding program is an understatement. Morning Glory is also a daughter of Kryptonite and her limited production thus far is exemplary. Last year we took twelve alpacas to the National Show in Ft. Wayne. Morning Glory had produced two of them, Crescent Moon’s Carlessa and Crescent Moon’s Rafer. They were each ribbon winners -- Rafer garnering a first in his class and Carlessa a second in hers. This year for the Parade of Champions, we offer Morning Glory, late pregnant and bred to Crescent Moon’s Donato. This will be Donato’s first cria, and we hope that you like the prospects as much as we do.

Mocha is an elegant, medium brown Peruvian female that carries the genetics of a fawn AOBA National Color Champion Navigator and three-time AOBA National Brown Champion Jason. Her brown fleece is very soft handle, with well-defined crimp and character. She has the true-to-type head and frame of her sire and grandsire and will be a good foundation female in any high-quality colored breeding program.

Regio has a uniformly colored, silver-grey fleece that is dense and very fine. Her dam, Artista, is a Danko daughter. Her sire is Patagonia’s El Vasco, an extremely fine Neruda son with 100+ offspring on the ground. Regia sells with a breeding to the Patagonia herdsire of Buyer’s choice.
