Come with your questions and be met with a smile! Lynn Edens is the owner of Little Creek Farm/Accoyo America and current host of the annual Parade of Champions alpaca auction. She also operates the premium alpaca yarn company Our Back 40. A relative newcomer to the business herself, Lynn currently has a herd of approximately 300 alpacas and focuses her breeding operation on producing highly prepotent white alpaca seedstock to support the development of a commercial fiber industry. Lynn is a co-founder and current President of the Alpaca Coalition of America, and serves on the board of her local AOA affiliate, the Empire Alpaca Association.

WHO’S DRIVING THE BUS? PRESENTER— NANCY OGAN (12:30 -2 PM) Often too much time is focused on the competition while losing sight of our customer. Which should drive our business, Customer or Competition? Nancy Ogan is the owner of Look At Me Now Alpacas, and general manager for Double “O” Good Alpacas and the Breeders Edge Auction event manager. She was introduced to alpacas in January of 2005 and by the end of March 2005 had begun her herd with 6 pregnant females, 3 maidens and 2 males. Nancy has developed an introductory course “Immerse Yourself in Alpacas” that strives to teach prospective breeders “the good, the bad and the ugly” while providing a framework to make the appropriate business decision for them. This course has been delivered to more than 50 prospective breeder(s) and instrumental in more than half of those entering into our industry. She also served as President for the Virginia Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association (VAOBA). Nancy is passionate about alpacas, the wonderful network of breeders, mentoring new breeders and the industry as a whole! THE HISTORY ON THE ALPACA INDUSTRY IN THE U.S.; A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE: PRESENTER— MIKE SAFLEY (2:30 - 4PM) Beginning in 1984 Mike Safley has gained a unique perspective on the significant events that have shaped the alpaca industry over the intervening 30 plus years. Join Mike in a walk through these events, the characters behind the stories and the impact they had on today’s alpaca industry. Michael Safley was born and raised in Oregon, attended the U of O and served in the Seabees, doing two tours of duty in Vietnam. Today he and his wife Julie operate Northwest Alpacas and Oakwood Gardens. In 2013, Mike was the first recipient of AOBA’s “Distinguished Judges Award” and is co-author of The Alpaca Chronicles and he co-authored The Art and Science of Alpaca Judging. Over the last 30 years, Mike has conducted seminars and lectures worldwide. Mike founded Quechua Benefit in 1996 and today he spends a significant amount of time supporting Quechua Benefit. In 2010 Mike supervised the development and construction of Casa Chapi Children’s Village on behalf of Quechua Benefit. Mike has traveled with missionary volunteers on more than 30 mission trips to the alpaca growing regions of Peru.

Micro-chips Required All alpacas in AOA certified shows must be micro-chipped, and must be identified by their micro-chip number on all forms and health documents. Please check that all alpacas are properly micro-chipped prior to coming to the show as any alpaca with a missing or unreadable micro-chip may be denied entry into the show facility. BVD Testing Required All alpacas entered in or present at the Futurity Show & Sale, and all AOA Certified shows must be tested negative for BVDV. For any BVDV testing done in or after 2010, PCR is the only accepted method of testing for shows. For testing conducted previous to 2010 both PCR and VI will be accepted. Negative results shall be indicated on the Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) (Health Papers). Remember to bring a copy of your CVI for your Show Superintendent as we are required to keep a copy of your Certificate of Veterinary Inspection. Notice We remind people the requirement of a negative BVDV test will not eliminate the possible presence of BVDV at the show, but will greatly reduce risk of exposure. It is strongly recommended all exhibitors institute on-farm bio-security protocols for returning from any show or other alpaca event to minimize the risk posed by BVDV and other contagion.

JUDGES FOR THE FUTURITY SHOW 2015 PETER KENNEDY Peter and his partner established Canchones Alpacas in 1998. Starting on ten acres with 2 females, the herd has grown to some 350 black alpacas (huacaya and suri). In 2003, the alpaca stud relocated to a 400 acre property in Taggerty, North East Victoria, Australia. Peter, a full time alpaca breeder, manages the Canchones herd breeding program on a daily basis, using the latest techniques including ET (Embryo Transfer) and the SRS system. Peter attended the International Alpaca Judging School (IAJS) in the Peru in 2004. He is a certified judge in the USA for AOA (Alpaca Owners Association)also as a AAA (Australian Alpaca Association) Senior judge. Since qualifying as a judge, Peter has judged shows throughout Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the USA. JILL MACLEOD (AOA Senior Judge) Jill MacLeod lives in High River, Alberta, Canada where she has been involved in the Alpaca industry since 1991, with the start of her breeding operation, Aztec Alpacas. Jill has served as a past director of the Canadian Alpaca Association, numerous association committees and is currently an active member of the Canadian show committee. She is also an advisor to the Quechua Benefit – a charitable organization focused on assisting the people of the Peruvian highlands. She spends much of her time traveling as an alpaca halter and fleece Judge and holds international training credentials and is also a Senior Judge and judge trainer for AOA. Jill has been fortunate to judge across North America as well as Europe, the UK, Australia and New Zealand. Jill has had a lifelong interest in textiles and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Textiles in 1987 from the University of Alberta. As a certified Camelid Fibre Classer, she spent a number of years assisting the Canadian fibre cooperative in developing it’s quality control systems and product development.

AMANDA VANDENBOSCH (AOA Senior Judge) Amanda is a Senior AOA Halter and Fleece Judge and an Alpaca Judge Trainer and Instructor in the USA. She qualified as an International Alpaca Judge trained in Peru at the International Alpaca Judging School (IAJS) in 2000. She has judged alpaca shows in the USA, Canada, United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia. She travels worldwide judging alpacas and giving presentations and workshops. She has spent many hours volunteering at AOA National Conferences and participated on numerous committees over the years. She is a past President of Calpaca, and currently serves as the Chair of the AOA Judges Advisory Committee (JAC). 2015 CHAMPION TROPHIES & BANNERS Each year’s Futurity trophies are custom designed by artist Rick Rowley. Per our tradition since 2005, we will be awarding our signature trophies for Color and Reserve Champions, with special editions for Judge’s Choice winners. Color and Reserve Color Champions will also receive an ‘over-the-back’ banner, a Futurity tradition since its inception. Custom Herd Sire trophies will be awarded to Herd Sire of the Year and Reserve Herd Sire of the Year in white/light and Herd Sire and Colored offspring divisions, and to Get of Sire winners in the White/Light and Colored divisions. Accoyo America Zurbriggen appears to be the best result yet of a pairing that has always impressed, that of the Nautilus daughter Accoyo America Heidi with the El Nino son Accoyo America Denali. Princess Cut was only shown this fall and will be shown 2 more times before the Futurity Auction. She has earned 2 1st place ribbons so far, with great comments from the judges. Majestic Meadows Allure is a beautiful brown female sired by 2010 Futurity Champion Crystal Spartan (co-owned with Crystal Lake Alpacas) and her dam is Majestic Peruvian Addison (daughter of multiple Herdsire of the Year Winning Majestic Peruvian Jeremiah.) Addison's full sister is Majestic Peruvian Amelia, the dam of multiple Color Champion and Judges' Choice winning Majestic Meadows Awethum (now owned by Happy Hounds Alpaca Ranch), who was also the highest selling female at the 2014 Futurity. This is a line we love and admire and one that has produced numerous award-winning cria for us here. Allure has a beautiful head and face and her fleece is a deep, rich brown colored fleece that is uniform in color. Her fleece is also soft to the touch and is bright, crimpy and dense and she is conformationally correct with beautiful phenotype. Allure is ready to start her show career in the Spring of 2015 and would be a great addition to any colored breeding program.

Snowmass Midnight Inca: The Incan's had very few black alpacas. They were rare as the whites. The first known mutations from the selective breeding of vicuna were red and solid brown. Breeding these together soon produced a myriad of colors. The black were treasured and rare as they are today. It is very hard to breed black alpacas to have the same characteristics of the fawns and whites. We LOVE black alpacas and it has been a select project of ours to improve them. When this young female was born I felt what maybe the Incan did when they had one born like her, thus her name Snowmass Midnight Inca. She is a true beauty and the first offspring from our True Black Dam, Incan Empress, crossed with our lead Black Matrix son, Snowmass Shadow Fax. Her lineage behind this is spectacular in every respect for future production of amazing royal color fleece progeny sure to bring greatness to any color breeding program.

The Auctioneer reserves the right to reject any or all bids. 7. T elephone Bids. Telephone bids are accepted subject to the Terms and Conditions of the Sale. Neither the Seller, Celebrity Sales, the Auctioneer, or any Agents will be responsible for any errors in or a failure to execute telephone bids. 8. P ayment. Terms of the sale are cash and payment in full, or terms as offered by the Seller. Settlement must be made with Celebrity Sales immediately following the auction, checks to be payable to Celebrity Sales. Sellers may reserve the right to require a certified check as settlement before releasing any animals. All payments due at the time of sale should be made payable to Celebrity Sales. In no case should any payment made at the time of sale be made to anyone other than Celebrity Sales. For sales providing payments due after the sale, such as financed sales, all future payments are to be made to the Seller. 9 Post Bid Procedures. Immediately after the close of the auction sale, each successful bidder at such sale shall be required to: a. C omplete and execute the “Acknowledgement of Purchase” handed to each Buyer for signature. Be sure to write clearly, giving full name and address. Upon receiving payment, the clerk will mark the

Acknowledgement of Purchase “PAID,” whereupon it becomes Buyer’s responsibility to obtain delivery. b. I f the transaction is to be financed, meet with the seller to verify payment terms and place of payment along with any other documentation required by the Seller. c. M eet with seller to arrange transfer of the animal. Buyer assumes all risk and expenses of the animal from the time of the successful bid. Any arrangement for disposition of the animal after purchase other than immediate removal must be made directly between Buyer and Seller and Celebrity Sales assumes no responsibility regarding the disposition of the animal following the sale. 10. Failure to Purchase at Time of Sale. If any buyer purchases a lot and does not pay for it at the time of the auction, Celebrity Sales and/ or Seller shall have the right to resell the lot or, at their option, bring action against Buyer for specific performance, in which event Buyer agrees to pay all costs of such suit and reasonable attorney fees. In the event of resale, the defaulting Buyer agrees to pay all costs of resale plus price deficiency. Buyer acknowledges that Celebrity Sales and/or Sellers decision for immediate resale is at their sole discretion and that the resale is a reasonable method in which to obtain the best price on the lot. 11. R egistration Papers. Celebrity Sales will hold all ARI registration papers until payment is received and the check clears the bank. At that time Buyer will be mailed the registration papers. Buyer pays transfers. For financed sales, Celebrity Sales will return the registration papers to the Seller and the Seller shall be responsible for transferring the papers to the Buyer at such time as the financed sale is completed or as otherwise agreed to between Buyer and Seller. 12. C ELEBRITY SALES. As used in this agreement, “Celebrity Sales” includes Tom and Nancy Simmons, Tim and Teresa Vincent, and any agents, representatives, employees and/or affiliates. 13. CELEBRITY SALES ASSUMES NO LIABILITY. 14 N ot an Agent or Representative of Buyer and Seller. Celebrity Sales is not an agent or representative of either the Seller or Buyer. All sales constitute a contract between the buyer and seller only of each animal sold. Celebrity Sales assumes no responsibility, legal or otherwise, in regard to the sale contract. Buyer and Seller further agree to hold CELEBRITY SALES HARMLESS AND FREE FROM ANY LIABILITY for any and all claims regarding the failure on the part of either Buyer or Seller to perform the terms of any sale including but not limited to any claim for rescission, fraud, negligent misrepresentation, breach of warranty, breach of contract, failure to deliver animal, and breach of any implied covenant. 15. C elebrity Sales makes no warranties or representations concerning the animals. Celebrity Sales makes no warranty whatsoever regarding the animals including any express warranties or implied warranties for fitness for a particular purpose or of merchantability. Neither Celebrity sales or the Auctioneer may give any warranty, express or implied as to the quality or description of the animal listed for sale. Celebrity Sales does not guarantee the soundness of any animal or the birthing of any female. Any information or representation in a Catalog or announced by Celebrity Sales or the Auctioneer regarding the animal is information provided solely by Seller. Information in the Catalog or reported by Celebrity Sales in any advertising or announcement or other medium employed does not constitute a guarantee, warranty, or representation, from Celebrity Sales whatsoever. Seller and Buyer both acknowledge that they have not relied on any representation from Celebrity Sales regarding the animal in determining whether to enter into any sale. Terms & Conditions 16. I nspection of Animals. The animals listed for sale have been available for inspection prior to the sale, during which time prospective buyers have the opportunity to examine such animals and examine any documentation pertaining to the animals. Failure to inspect any animal will not constitute a ground for any claim, adjustment, or rescission by any buyer. 17. Risk of loss. The successful bidder for any animal shall assume responsibility, from the time the bid is successful, for the care and handling and all risks of loss or damage and shall have all obligations and liabilities otherwise associated with an ownership interest in such animal. 18. C hanges in the Event. Seller and Buyer agree to hold CELEBRITY SALES HARMLESS AND FREE FROM ANY LIABILITY harmless from damages in the event that unusual or unforeseen circumstances result in the change of location, change of time or date, or cancellation or similar modification of this sale. 19. Dispute Resolution. a. Arbitration. Any dispute in which Celebrity Sales is named as a party, including any claim that arises out of any agreement between Seller and Celebrity Sales and Buyer and Celebrity Sales or any agreement between Seller and Buyer whereupon Celebrity Sales is included as a party either by cross claim or third party claim including any suit or claim to the interpretation or breach of any agreement or tort concerning Celebrity Sales, or to the existence, scope, or validity of any agreement or the arbitration agreement, such dispute shall be resolved by arbitration in accordance with the then effective arbitration rules of (“ASP”), and judgment upon the award rendered pursuant to such arbitration may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof. The arbitration shall be in Corvallis, Oregon or as otherwise may be mutually agreed to by all the parties. A sole arbitrator shall be utilized. In lieu of the arbitrators available through ASP, the parties may instead elect to mutually select an arbitrator not available through ASP, including but not limited to an arbitrator who is not an attorney and is instead a recognized professional in the industry. Regardless of which arbitrator is chosen, ASP arbitration rules shall otherwise apply. The arbitrator’s decision will be final and all matters shall be settled by Arbitration. hoice of Law. The laws of the State of Oregon shall apply to all b. C arbitrations or any suit filed in court. c. A ttorney Fees. If any arbitration, mediation, or other proceeding is brought in lieu of litigation, or if suit or action is instituted against Celebrity Sales the party not prevailing shall pay the prevailing party’s costs, disbursements, and attorney fees and expenses of expert witnesses. In determining reasonable attorney fees, ORCP 68 shall apply. Additionally, the Court or arbitrator shall award the prevailing party attorney fees of $2,500, which the parties agree is a reasonable attorney fee for collecting any resulting judgment. d. Miscellaneous. This agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties, and any prior understanding or representation of any kind preceding the date of this agreement shall not be binding on either party except to the extent incorporated in this agreement. Any modification of this agreement or additional obligation assumed shall be binding only if in writing signed by each party. The invalidity of any portion of this agreement will not and shall not be deemed to affect the validity of any other provision and the parties agree that the remaining provisions shall be deemed to be in full force and effect as if they had been executed by both parties subsequent to the expungement of the invalid provision.

GENERAL NOTICES 1. Micro-Chips. Micro-chips are required for all alpacas. Each alpaca must be identified by their micro-chip number on all forms and health documents. Please check that all alpacas are properly micro-chipped prior to coming to the show, as any alpaca with a missing or unreadable microchip will be denied entry into the show facility. 2. B VD Testing Required. All alpacas must be negative for BVDV by a PCR or VI lab test and said negative results shall be indicated on the certificate of health (Health Papers). Sellers must bring a copy of the Health Papers as Celebrity Sales may be required to keep a copy by state law. 3. BVDV. We remind people that the requirement of a negative BVDV test will not eliminate the possible presence of BVDV at the show, but will greatly reduce the risk of exposure. It is strongly recommended that all exhibitors institute on-farm bio-security protocols for returning from any show or other alpaca event to minimize the risk posed by BVDV and other contagion. 4. A uction Entries. Alpacas in the auction may have been shorn, trimmed, or cleaned for health and/or presentation reasons. A. For a maiden female – Consignor will guarantee that this female is reproductively sound and able to get pregnant before her second birthday.
