Welcome Letter Welcome to the 2010 National Conference! This year marks the 15th anniversary of the National Auction. Over these years, the alpaca industry has grown tremendously in size and popularity. The value and visibility of the breed has appreciated steadily and consistently in each of those years. Alpacas are now not only the most profitable, but also one of the most recognizable livestock investments in the world! This type of success is a testimony to these wonderful creatures, and the membership and leadership of our breed organization. We tip our hats to the AOBA Board of Directors, present and past for all of the time and effort you have given over the years. To every member who has ever volunteered to be on a committee, produce or help with a show, or has just been there to help when asked, we salute you. One only needs to look at sales averages and volume, both private and public, and the record attendance at AOBA shows, to see the positive results of your efforts! The annual AOBA auction draws many of the very best consignments from top breeders across the country. This group is certainly no exception! We are pleased to again have the opportunity to provide sale management service for the AOBA auction, and invite all of you to join us for a great event! Sincerely, Tim & Teresa Vincent Tom & Nancy Simmons Celebrity Alpaca Sales

Coverage is from head to toe showing off her classic Suri style. Her fleece is illustrious and shining. She displays no conformational flaws and carries herself with an inquisitive prestigious presence. Her superior qualities are not by chance when you study her genetics. Aria’s Sire is Moon River’s Peruvian Durango. The Grand-Sire is DDF Peruvian Macgyver and Great Grand Sire is Bruxo. Durango’s sale outside the US makes Aria’s impressive characteristic irreplacable. Aria’s Dam is GLR Casi, a daughter of the legendary 4Peruvian Condor. Aria took First Place at her first show the Mapaca Jubilee in 2009. She went on to AOBA taking third place in an impressive full class. The two largest shows. A difficult decision to offer Aria for sale but, what better place to show off this high quality female.

At her first show at just over 6 months of age, Melony beat 4 champion and multi-champion yearling females to earn her first banner. Not only is Melony undefeated in her class, as 1/3 of our Breeder’s Best of Three team and Get of Sire team this spring she also helped bring home 10 blue ribbons for our farm and two championships all before 9 months of age. Just imagine what she will do next year... When we learned we would need a substitute for the AOBA auction, we knew only Melony would do. Tuscan’s Amber Wave di Bella Vita

Consigned by: Debra & Charles Powers / Nancy Johanson Bella Vita Ranch / Brookhollow Farm Castle Rock, CO phone: (720)-733-3618

This beautiful Sunny Mesa’s Tuscan Gold daughter carries genetic excellence on both sides of her pedigree. The Accoyo Express line is known to produce dense, champion fleeces of color with total body coverage. Tuscan adds to these characteristics and contributes fineness, his trademark extreme brightness, and uniformity in an elite fleece. This girl is no exception with her medium to high frequency crimp style. Her medium fawn dam had a 17.2 micron cria fleece and was 19.9 as a yearling with good density. Tuscan maintained a 19.9 micron fleece at age 4. Full Peruvian, 3/4 Accoyo Amber Wave exhibits good bone and is good size for her age, has Daddy’s upright stature and presence, balanced frame, level topline and nice head. Her dam is an easy keeper and an attentive mother with good milk production as evidenced by Amber’s rapid growth and good size. Amber would be a great addition to any program breeding for elite colored fleece. And she is beautiful!

MSA Valpolicella is a 3X champion dark fawn, proven female sired by 8X color champion, Patagonia’s El Trauco, whom we co-own with Patagonia. Valpolicella’s dam, Take Me To The Hop is a 4Peruvian Altiplano Gold daughter and has been a top producer. Valpolicella is very fine, has championship crimp, fleece character, density and comformation as proven by her ribbons. Owning both her sire and dam allows us the opportunity to sell Valpolicella. We kept a full sister to her that is showing signs of being a champion as well, in fact all of El Trauco’s offspring are destined to do very well in the show ring. Valpolicella has been bred to MSA Peruvian Tequila Sunrise (due Sept. 2010) who had a 12.9 micron on his first histogram and just sheared 13.2 lbs. of fleece in 2009. Tequila Sunrise has one of the deepest pedigrees I have ever seen. Included are Hemingway, El Nino, Caligula, Vengador and Allin Capac. Imagine the cria from this pairing! Her character of fleece soars: bundles breaking into clean smaller sticks, crimp that has both the higher frequency AND the curvature, brilliant shine and exaggerated staple length. She carries square conformation and maturity of frame that says SOMEBODY has an amazing Mom! And she does! Roxie (Mom), is the obscenely dense daughter of Accoyo McGwire, a rosegrey-fawn Victor son. Roxie is an impact female, producing our best year after year. Layla’s Dad, PHA Accoyo Stratosphere (med fawn), is son of industry giant LEGACY, whose characteristic density+fineness show true in Layla. Her character barely changes down her legs, tummy, across her chest, yielding more prime fleece & less 2nd’s. Sells with a breed to our Elite son PCA Accoyo Avalance. We consider Patagonia’s Aurora to be among the top alpacas that we have produced. She descends from a combination of Nishio and Lennox lines, our most successful formula for producing a fleece with extreme density without compromising fineness. Aurora ‘s dam, Patagonia’s Juneau is a Lennox daughter. Lennox is an 8-time champion Danko son and it is his offspring that now comprise the majority of our showstring. Juneau was the 2007 AOBA National Champion and has gone on to be one of our top producing females. Juneau’s crias always make the cut to be on our showstring. Aurora’s sire, Nishio, was the All-American herdsire of the year in 2004 and the reserve herdsire in 2007. Nishio has sired numerous champions in all colors from white to black. Aurora’s bloodlines are attractive as is her nicely balanced conformation, dense bone and beautiful head. Full Peruvian and beautiful, Angelica’s fleece is luscious. Her fiber retains extraordinary handle and once you open her fleece then you will understand why. Stunning brightness pops at your visual senses, which are also well pleased by the architecture captured within her blanket. Her sire, Peruvian Francisco retained a 13.7 CV this year and so we are not surprised by the uniformity that is involved here. Angelica is also beautiful. Well, grown for her age she has great substance of bone and a very pleasing head type. Now presently, she would probably be called a brown alpaca, but her DNA is all gray and we suspect that as the years go along she will become more and more of a gray alpaca visually. We would certainly breed her that way. So what about breedings? Well, we offer with this sale a chance to breed to one of the best gray males in the country and that would be ATV Adonnis. Kentucky Champion’s Trinity

Consigned by: Richard Mattingly Kentucky Champion Alpacas, LLC Brandenburg, KY phone: (502)-639-0889

Kentucky Champion’s Trinity is a light brown wonder. She resembles her father, 5 Time Champion Accoyo Maverick’s, compact frame. Trinity’s fleece consists of unsurpassed, light brown fleece with heaps of long tight crimp. The fineness of her fleece is extraordinary and will not disappoint any viewing eyes. For being so young she did great in her first two showings this past fall. Trinity has already in her young career, taken third at the Indiana Heartland Classic at 6 1/2 mos. and took second at the OABA in Ohio at 8 1/2 mos. Trinity’s lineage runs deep and dates back to PPPeruvian Royal Fawn, 6Peruvian Accoyo Gisela, 6Peruvian Dom Timbo and P. Tomasita. Her dam, Pandora, is a beautiful Peruvian Medium Silver Gray who has won two 1st place ribbons, one 2nd place and one 3rd place in her show career. Her sire, Maverick, is a multi-champion Peruvian Accoyo white male that has exquisite fleece. With Trinity’s deep genetics her offspring’s fleece color is endless.

For the second time in a row we are offering a simply stunning fawn female out of NGG Secret Weapon (Uribe) who has earned himself a special spot in our signature herdsire line-up. Last year we sold Victory’s paternal sister, Secret Spice- a 2009 Futurity Color Champion, to Kathy and Steve Albert. Her dam Liya, a brown Mr. Cool daughter, whom we have kept for our own program continues to produce show quality offspring as a good foundation female should. Victory’s fleece has vivid luster, silky long staple length, and wonderful independence of lock. We love her overall presence and attention grabbing appearance with her thick wooly legs and perfectly wedge-shaped and fully “lockedup” face....many traits of her sire, Secret Weapon. Victory comes with a free breeding to any Oregon Alpaca Farm signature herdsire making her the complete package.

Prada has excellent conformation, a perfect bite, and a healthy medium build. We micron tested Prada at 7 months and her report showed at 17.4 with a CV of 19.7. We believe that along with her brightness and high frequency crimp, Prada shows all of the signs of carrying her sire, Rico Suave’s, extraordinarily fine fleece. Take advantage of this terrific opportunity to own a direct daughter of one of the finest males in the country. Rico Suave sports a 17.6-micron fleece at age 9. From our records back to 2005, he has held these 17 microns without any significant change. According to Norm Evans’s skin biopsy report, Rico has a follicular density of 68.75 and shows no fibers over 30 microns. We recommend breeding to our champion male, Mountain West Elderon.
