Helpful Information Located in the emerald foothills of Helvetia, Oregon, an historic Swiss farming community, Pacific Crest Alpacas combines the magic of the green hills of Switzerland with the enchantment of alpacas and the Peruvian Andes. As you approach the ranch from the valley below and gaze upon the herds of many colored alpacas grazing and frolicking on the hillsides, it is as if you have entered a timeless world, free from the tensions and worries of the fast-paced world behind you.

Pacific Crest Accoyo America The Mark of Quality

The most important decision you will make upon entering the alpaca industry—one that will affect your success in the alpaca industry for years to come—is where you purchase your foundation stock of alpacas. This is important for three reasons--Quality, Support, and Selection. Quality At Accoyo America, we have the highest quality breeding stock available to maximize the return on your investment. The seed doesn’t fall far from the tree! In any breeding stock industry, a relatively small percentage of the male offspring are retained for stud service. The alpaca breeder with top breeding stock is able to sell his/her male crias for the same (or higher) price than the female crias, thereby nearly doubling the investment return. When shopping for your first alpacas, it’s important to look at the breeder’s sale prices for their male offspring. This will give you a good idea of the marketability of their alpacas in general. At Pacific Crest, the sale price of our males during the past two years has averaged slightly above that of our female offspring. Many visitors to the ranch marvel at the uniform quality of Pacific Crest stock. Many existing breeders come to upgrade their own stock by purchasing males from us. Much of the reason for this uniformity is due to the fact that most of our breeding stock is from Estancia Accoyo in Macusani, Peru. The late Don Julio Barreda, practiced the most rigid selective breeding of alpacas in all of South America. This selective family line breeding produced a herd famous for its uniform density and fineness. Our Accoyo-bred offspring reflect Senor Barreda’s fine breeding program, and we’re extremely proud of them. Support Our customers’ success is our own. Nothing gives us more pleasure in this business than seeing our customers succeed in their financial and lifestyle investment in alpacas. We strive to build a close relationship with our buyers for two reasons. First, we want to ensure that our alpacas end up in good homes. Second, we want to ensure that our customers’ transition to their new lifestyle is as smooth as possible, and that they feel secure in their new lifestyle and investment decision. We are always available to answer questions regarding nutrition, veterinary care and breeding. We’re prepared to assist with marketing, including sales advice and brokering services. Selection With more than 200 alpacas on the farm in a full spectrum of colors, you are guaranteed to find one you love! With both huacayas and suris at Pacific Crest, one-stop shopping is readily available. Accoyo America has the largest selection of full blood Accoyo offspring for sale in North America. We look forward to seeing you at the Parade of Champions Auction Saturday, June 30, 2012! Greg, Diana, Karl & Staff

Welcome to Crescent Moon Ranch and the Parade of Champions Sale! We recognize our annual participation in this significant event as an Honor and Privilege. To stand side by side with our partners, three programs which represent such Excellence, leaves us humbled! Crescent Moon Ranch is a family-run business. Following countless years in the hospitality industry, we have come to embrace the alpaca lifestyle and its many virtues. To state it succinctly, “We Love What We Do.” Our focus is three-fold: 1. The continual improvement of our herd 2. The well-being of each individual alpaca 3. And last, but not least, the success and satisfaction of our customers. Many thanks to all who have been our customers, and to those of you who are considering it, we hope that you “Land on The Moon!” The Crescent Moon Family

Alpacas de la Patagonia

Breeding alpacas is a family business for Alpacas de la Patagonia. With alpaca ranches in both North and South America, we take pride in merging the distinct animal husbandry techniques and breeding strategies of the two hemispheres. We are located at Port Susan on Camano Island – an hour’s drive north of Seattle. On occasion, we are treated to the sight of whales from our alpaca fields! A visit to our 200 acres farm reveals several hundred huacayas and suris in a wide spectrum of colors, grazing the lush, green pastures. We are well-known for putting some of our best alpacas up for auction. This year is no exception. All alpacas sell with our legendary customer support; our job is not over after the sale is made. We are committed to supporting our clients in all aspects of their alpaca endeavors – whether it is needed the day of purchase or five years later! In addition to fleece quality, our bloodlines are well known for their high fertility and live birth rates, as well as for their excellent mothering instinct and milk supply. All open females sell with a free breeding to the Patagonia herdsire of Buyer’s choice. A purchase of an alpaca from Patagonia makes the Buyer eligible to use any of the Patagonia herdsires (including those herdsires which are restricted) to breed any of their females to. We look forward to spending the weekend with you. Hugo, Karen, Isabella, Sofia and Joaquin. Accoyo America Herdsires

Accoyo America Road Warrior

Road Warrior is another spectacular cross of Nautilus bred to an El Nino daughter--in this case Accoyo America Zinnia. His fleece is characterized by extreme density and a high frequency crimp on a moderately long staple. Road Warrior is a powerful, conformationally correct male. In 2011, he won his first Get of Sire competition at Alpacapalooza with his first three offspring. Fleece analysis at age 1: AFD 18.8 microns, SD 3.1 microns, CV 16.5%, % over 30 0.4%. 2008 CABA White Color Champion Huacaya 2008 AWE 1st Place Huacaya White Color 2008 Futurity 1st Place Huacaya White Color 2009 CABA 1st Place Huacaya White Color 2010 AWE 1st Place Huacaya White Color 2010 CABA1st Place Huacaya White Color 2010 AOBA1st Place Huacaya White Color

Accoyo America Shogun

Accoyo America Shogun is a combination of the genetics of Legacy, Hemingway and Sicuani. He’s a result of a breeding cross of Legacy and Sequin, full sister to Nautilus. In 2007, he won the Supreme Huacaya Male Championship at the International Alpaca Odyssey and the AOBA National White Color Championship. He’s moderately dense, very fine and uniform with heavy coverage down his legs. We plan to use him extensively to upgrade fineness. Accoyo America Mahatma

Mahatma has one of the highest character fleeces in our stud row. With a moderately long staple that separates into distinct bundles of well-defined crimp, soft-handle fiber, he has been our most dominant male in the show ring over the past two years. He’s an El Nino son with Accoyo Pucara genetics on the maternal side (Nirvana). Accoyo America Navigator

A son of Hemingway-Accoyo Nautilus and AOBA Brown Color Champion Mulberry, Navigator has transferred the fineness, fine-crimp and long-staple length of Nautilus to a dark fawn fleece. He is a strong breeder, with perfect conformation and true-to-type head. Fleece values at age 2: AFD 22.2 microns/SD 4.0 microns/CV 18.0%/%over 30 3.7%. Accoyo America Polaris

Polaris is perhaps our densest, most uniform herdsire. A full-Accoyo son of El Nino and AAA Futurity Color Champion Pussywillow, he is a fusion of Caligula, Auzengate, and an Accoyo dam we believe to be of the same lineage as Legacy (Pucara) with a striking head and profile and a fleece described by a judge as “the best he’s ever seen”, he’s in heavy use on our stud row. Fleece analysis at age 1: AFD 17.6 microns SD 3.6 microns CV 20.5% % over 30 0.6%. 2007 Shear weight was 12.4 pounds total, 6.8 blanket. Accoyo America Denali

Denali is a product of the most reliable cross in our breeding program—El Nino over Stefani. Stefani is the daughter of the renowned Sicuani and an unknown (to us) herdsire in the Accoyo Estancia breeding program—but thought to be Rasputin. He’s similar in phenotype to his older full brother Endeavor, with a powerful frame, heavy shear weight (12+ pounds), long staple and fine crimp style. Histogram: AFD 18.3 microns, SD 3.5 microns, CV 19.1%, % over 30 0.8% Show record: 2007 AOBA National 2nd Place Full Fleece Juvenile White Male Huacaya 2008 Alpaca Western Extravaganza 1st Place Yearling White Huacaya Male 2008 Alpaca Western Extravaganza Reserve Champion White Color Huacaya Male 2008 The Futurity1st Place Yearling White Huacaya Male

Accoyo America Ulysses

Ulysses is a full-Accoyo El Nino son notable for his brilliant fine-crimped independently bundled and uniform fleece. It was clear from his early days that he had a unique combination of density and fineness on a structurally sound, harmonically-balanced frame. Fleece analysis is as follows: Age 1 AFD 15.3 microns SD 3.2 microns CV 21.1% %over 30 0.4%; Age 4 AFD 21.8 microns SD 4.1 microns CV 18.9% %over 30 2.5% 2007 Shear Weight was 11.4 pounds total, 6.0 pounds blanket. Accoyo America Kashmir

PCA Hemingway-Accoyo Nautilus X Accoyo America Sha Na Na Kashmir is a Nautilus son crossed with an El Nino daughter and carries a very fine high crimp that lasts into his old age. He was AOBA National White Color Champion and Judges Choice. PCA Hemingway-Accoyo Nautilus

Nautilus is an offspring of Hemingway and our top B-line Accoyo female, Sicuani. Both he and his full-sister Sequin have won the coveted AOBA White Color Championship. He has had the finest-crimped fleece we have seen, with microbundling and long staple length. 2007 Shear Weight was 9.2 pounds. Age 1 fleece values were AFD 17.8 microns/ SD 3.7 microns/CV 20.5%/% over 30 0.8%. Nautilus has become well-known for the fine-crimp, low micron fleece of his offspring. He gained national prominence this year when his donated breeding sold for $19,000, eclipsing the previous record set by El Nino. Accoyo America North Star

North Star is an El Nino cross with Sequoia, Nautilus’ full sister. He’s very typey and straight with a pure elite fleece that combines a moderately fine crimp and long staple length and independent bundling with a high degree of uniformity. Show record: 2007 AWE 1st Place White Yearling Male 2007 AOBA 1st Place and Reserve White Color Champion Male 2008 IAO 1st Place White Huacaya Senior Male

Accoyo America Jason

A son of Accoyo Endurance and Black Female AOBA Color Champion Phoenicia, Jason has won the Brown AOBA National Color Championship in both 2006 and 2007. It is rare to combine his exquisite crimp and character, and density with a deep red brown fleece. His presence and conformation are striking, and his first crias are due in early 2008. Fleece values at age 2 were AFD 22.7 microns, SD 3.8 microns, CV 16.7%, %over 30 2.9%. Giving Back - Casa Chapi In 1975, working with members of the Hispanic community of Washington County, Oregon, I helped found a fledgling community health center in a 600 sq ft converted garage. Our clinic, Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Clinic was named for a migrant farmworker’s daughter who had died of a preventable illness. Our staff worked on a shoestring budget and consisted of myself, a nurse, a receptionist and dedicated community outreach workers. Today, that clinic has grown into an effective “poster-child” health care system of four primary care clinics, three dental offices, and two school-based health centers, staffing over 40 physicians and currently constructing an $11 million wellness center. I experienced first-hand that the smallest seed can grow into a very large tree. We owe a great deal to the highland alpaca shepherds of Peru for refining the alpacas to their stature at the time of their import to North America. We are in particular debt to the man from Accoyo, Don Julio Barreda, who, in my mind, was bigger than life. Julio Barreda had special stature because he understood the importance of giving back—that we’re all in a boat on a very big, stormy sea, and that we must take care of the less fortunate and less firm. He understood that it is the most defining characteristic of civilized humanity. For years, Julio Barreda would give his refined, excess breeding stock to Indian communities to upgrade and improve their herds. He was an integral part of the fledgling Quechua program that provided clothing and dental care to communities in the altiplano. That program is now developing Casa Chapi, a center in the

Colca Canyon of Peru dedicated to housing and training young Peruvian highlanders in health care professions. Last July, we decided to donate up to 20 breedings per year for a 3 year period, to the construction of Casa Chapi, largely because of the example set by Julio Barreda. We arranged for the construction of a bronze statue of Don Julio and his famed herdsire Shere Khan for the garden at Casa Chapi. It’s our hope that many of you will visit Casa Chapi and consider your own donation to the center. We hope to see the seed grow into an effective health care training and delivery program. I know it can happen – I experienced it first hand at Virginia Garcia. Greg Mecklem Pacific Crest Accoyo America

Lot 1 - Accoyo America Ballerina Sire: PCA Hemingway-Accoyo Nautilus Dam: Accoyo America Bali ARI#: 32274127 Sex: Huacaya Female DOB: 5/26/11 Color: White Ballerina is a rare commodity—a combination of the two herdsires earning the highest single breeding fees at public auction—sire Hemingway-Accoyo Nautilus sold at $17,000, 2007 AOBA National, and maternal grandsire PCA Accoyo El Nino at $16,000, 2006 Futurity. She’s the only Nautilus daughter in the sale this year. Ballerina’s fleece reflects her championship pedigree—a bright fine-crimping dense fleece with a spinning fineness of 14.8 microns, comfort factor of 99.6%, and mean crimp curvature of 55.1. She’s a robust female that will be ready for her complimentary breeding in late August. I would recommend a breeding to two-time IAO Supreme Champion Accoyo America Ulysses. 2012 Histogram: AFD: 15.5, SD: 2.7, CV: 17.2%, %>30: 0.3%

Oh it hurts! And I guess that is the way it should always be when we enter an alpaca in an auction. Crescent Moon’s Liberty Belle is a fantastic silver gray, Aussie .38 Special daughter. At this writing the Futurity has just been completed and while we don’t know the complete results, we do know who did exceptionally well. Carol and Ken Collins of Never Summer Alpacas own the great .38 Special and WOW, did .38 have a great Futurity Show. Take a look at Liberty Belle and you will understand why. Like most .38 Special cria she demonstrates exceptional density, a long staple growth, advanced staple development, exemplary fineness, and intense brightness. Her dam is a Kryptonite daughter named Beldora and Beldora’s dam is Adonnis’ mom, Bell Adonna. I bet you are getting the feeling that this is a very special lot indeed! Liberty Belle sells with a breeding and full ranch guarantees. Sire: Aussie .38 Special

Her dam, Marmelade is an Oliver Twist daughter with a bright fleece, that exhibits a consistent, high frequency crimp throughout her blanket. Her sire, is black colorchampion, Patagonia’s Admiral. This is the first Admiral offspring that we have offered for sale. Includes a breeding to the Patagonia herdsire of Buyer’s choice.

This elite fawn has already won a Reserve Color Championship at Alpacapalooza 2012. Her dam, Eternity, is a fawn daughter of Ferrari, a full-Accoyo fawn Caligula son. Avani has a fine, well-defined crimp on a dense, uniform 18.2 micron fleece. She’s robust, conformationally correct and has dramatic curbside appeal. I’d recommend a breeding to AOBA Brown Color Champion Accoyo America Navigator. 2012 Histogram: AFD: 18.2, SD: 3.3, CV: 17.9%, % > 30: 0.8%

Names found there include Bueno, Casanova, Incan Magic, Drambuie, Mr. Know It All, Caligula, El Nino, Camilio, Nova, Nova’s Nuance, Danko, Valentino, Copenhagen, Chocolate Decadence and of course, Legacy. In her first show out she was a blue ribbon winner and looking at that list above, that’s not a surprise. Amity has lovely fleece which demonstrates very good lock structure for a black alpaca, along with advance density. We are chomping at the bit for this breeding. Of course that will be your choice but we would choose Futurity Champion Donato or his amazing sire, Adonnis. This renowned herdsire is the superlative expression of his sire, Accoyo El Nino, and his dam, Accoyo Pussywillow. I have often said that Polaris is the closest in phenotype and personality to his sire of all of El Nino’s sons. With his dense, high-character fleece and sturdy frame, he personifies the Accoyo “A” line. After winning the White Color Championship at the 2005 AAA Futurity, Polaris proceeded to win the International Odyssey Fleece Championship and AOBA Judges Choice Fleece Championship while beginning work as one of our herdsires. His heritage is unique in that it combines lineage from Accoyo Caligula, the renowned Accoyo Auzengate that we sold to Australia, and Accoyo Sunipani, who we consider to be one of the two top females we purchased as imports from Accoyo. Most importantly, Accoyo America Polaris is a nationally known producer of the highest quality offspring. At the 2012 MAPACA Jubilee Auction, Polaris daughters were the two highest priced female lots in the auction at $38,000 for Accoyo America Pineapple Princess and $35,500 for NPA Polaris’ Accoyo Bonniebelle.

She is also the dam of Crescent Moon’s Lullaby featured here. We know how potent this maternal line is and suffice it to say that it is special. Lullaby is her mother’s daughter. She has a brilliant fleece by way of its brightness. It is fine and it is dense and it is even. Her beauty is true to her lineage and so is her disposition. Offspring of Goldie Locks are quiet, gentle and sweet. We love Lullaby simply because she is the daughter of Goldie Locks. I guess it doesn’t hurt that Adonnis is involved as well! The seed doesn’t fall far from the tree—Sun Star has an AFD of 14.0, SD of 3.1 and % over 30 of only 0.3%. Her fleece is breathtaking, stunningly brilliant, with a well-defined crimp on dense high character bundles. This elite female should be bred to one of our best—I’d vote for 2011 AOBA Judges Choice Kashmir or Road Warrior. So this is a rare opportunity indeed! Copenhagen won his first championship (a reserve championship) at AWE when he was just 7 ½ months old and didn’t stop winning them until his last show, the AOBA National Show when he was 33 months old. His obvious and notable stature and marvelous fleece qualities always moved him toward the top of the black male classes and now the same can be said for his offspring. Copenhagen is the son of Crescent Moon’s Valentino and Crescent Moon’s Chocolate Decadence. Valentino’s acclaim is widely known, but Decadence has earned her greatness more discreetly. Her offspring include not only Copenhagen, but also champions Chocolate Thunder, Artemis, Dorothy, and blue ribbon winner at the National Show, Elegance. We offer Copenhagen with confidence and pride. He is a champion, his siblings are champions and his cria are achieving championship status. There is no mystery here! As a side note, Copenhagen has never been formally utilized for outside breeding services with the exception of use for our customers. Nor has he been overexposed within the herd here at Crescent Moon Ranch. We believe that fact makes for significant business opportunity for the new ownership. The new owners may feel confident that they will be able to conduct business around Copenhagen free of competition from us in the future. Ajax was born late in the season in 2010, so he wasn’t on our spring show team, but his fleece rivals that of any of our working herdsires. With two-time IAO Supreme Champion and AOBA Fleece Show Judges Choice Accoyo America Ulysses as his sire, this junior herdsire should retain his fineness into adulthood. His dam, Accoyo Stefani, has consistently produced the “cream” of our breeding program (Endeavor, Joseph, Denali, Icelandia, Epiphany). Stefani, born in quarantine to Accoyo Sicuani, was said to be produced by a male named Rasputin who was retained at Accoyo.

The fleece of Ajax is absolutely brilliant with well-defined high-frequency crimp and bundling. His first year histogram of AFD 14.0 microns, 2.9 SD, CV 20.8% and % over 30 of 0.4%, gives him a spinning fineness of 13.6 microns. As he approaches 2 years old, his spinning fineness is holding well at 15.2 microns. Ajax carries this elite fleece on a solid upright frame. He has the handsome true-to-type head of his sire Ulysses. 2011 Histogram: AFD: 14.0, SD: 2.9, CV: 20.8%, %> 30: 0.4% 2012 Histogram: AFD: 15.3, SD: 3.0, CV: 19.8%, %> 30: 0.5%

Lot 18 - Crescent Moon’s Gracie Female Huacaya DOB: 3/14/2011 Color: Bay Black ARI#: 32376210 Sire: Aussie .38 Special Dam: Snowmass Halo Will we ever get to keep one of Snowmass Halo’s female offspring? Halo is just one of those females who always produces exceptionally and usually sponsors females and they are always sold. I guess that is a good problem to have. Take a look at Halo’s newest daughter, Crescent Moon’s Gracie. She is also a daughter of the amazing Aussie .38 Special. As you can see, Gracie is a beauty. Her outstanding coverage hides her sizeable bone substance and her lovely head just makes you want to stare. Her fleece is well defined with outstanding fineness and staple length along with exceptional reflective qualities common in .38 Special progeny. Gracie sells with full Crescent Moon Ranch guarantees and a breeding. Oh, this will take some thought but we like your options! 2012 Histogram: AFD: 17.3 microns SD: 3.1 microns CV: 18.2 microns Fibers > 30 Microns: 0.4

Lot 19 - Accoyo America Krakatoa Sire: Accoyo America Jason Dam: Accoyo America Kenai ARI#: 32274196 Sex: Huacaya Male DOB: 8/3/11 Color: Dark Brown Like his sire Accoyo America Jason, we knew Krakatoa was special the day he was born with his tight bundles of coiled, sharply crimped dark brown fiber. We would not be surprised if Krakatoa’s show record rivals that of his sire, who won the AOBA National Show Brown Color Championship three years in a row, (2005, 2006, 2007) and has shown a consistent ability to produce elite fleeces like Krakatoa’s that are competitive with our top white’s. Krakatoa has already won the IAO Brown Commercial Color Championship and placed first at Alpacapalooza, CABA Classic and MAPACA 2012. His glossy brown fleece is fine, extremely uniform with a CV of 16.8%, SD of 3.2 and % over 30 microns of 0.7%, and exhibits a high frequency crimp style. Krakatoa, like the volcano he’s named after, is destined to leave his mark on the world. 2012 Histogram: AFD: 19.1, SD: 3.2, CV: 16.8%, %> 30: 0.7%

Lot 20 - Accoyo America Fuji San ARI#: 32322491 • Sex: Huacaya Female • DOB: 8/28/11 • Color: White Sire: Accoyo America Shogun • Dam: Accoyo America Sahalie

To understand Fuji San’s spectacular phenotype, you need to look no further than the grandparents—Accoyo Legacy and Accoyo El Nino, and dams Accoyo America Sequin and Accoyo America Sequoia. Both granddams are AOBA National White Color Champions and full-sisters of AOBA National White Color Champion Nautilus. With this “bedrock” pedigree, it’s easy to see where Fuji San got her 14.0 micron, 2.9 SD fleece — her spinning fineness is 13.6 and comfort factor is 99.7% with a CPI of 10 crimps per inch and % over 30 of only 0.3%. This robust daughter of Accoyo America Sahalie (El Nino X Sequoia) and IAO Supreme Champion Shogun should be bred to Mahatma or Ulysses. 2012 Histogram: AFD: 14.0, SD: 2.9, CV: 20.7%, %>30: 0.3%

Service Sire: Eclipse Alyst

Lot 21 - Amber Autumn Kaliope DOB: May 28, 2010 • Color: Medium Fawn • Service Sire: Eclipse Alyst ARI#: 31739887 • Sex: Huacaya Female • Sire: MMR Laredo • Dam: Amber Autumn’s Karissa

“Kaliope” is a fusion of some of our most consistent genetics. Grandsires “Accoyo America Carinoso” and “Legacy’s Golden Boy” on the bottom side and sired by “MMR Laredo” on the top side. Add in some very prepotent dams top and bottom along with a group of top herd sires that have all shown their ability to bring through colour. “Kaliope” is bred to our dark fawn macho “Eclipse Alyst”. Eclipse progeny are very consistent exhibiting incredible soft hand, lingering fineness, density, along with great conformation and type. Kaliope’s 2010 histogram is as follows: 17.5, 4.0, 22.8, 1.0>30. We expect that to change very little with age and she is due with cria in April 2013.

Lot 22 - Accoyo America Road Warrior’s Delphi ARI#: 32322507 • Sex: Huacaya Female • DOB: 8/23/11 Color: White • Sire: Accoyo America Road Warrior • Dam: El Nino’s Accoyo Olympia

Delphi is a dramatic combination of an El Nino daughter, (Olympia, full sister to Michelangelo), with the renowned Road Warrior, a Nautilus son and multiple Get-of-Sire winner. This stunning female is the only Road Warrior daughter available for sale this year. Delphi has a dense, finely-crimped fleece with a spinning fineness of 16.9, a mean crimp curvature of 43.4, and excellent bundle separation. I’d suggest a breeding to Accoyo America Ulysses or Mahatma this fall. 2012 Histogram: AFD: 17.2, SD: 3.8, CV: 21.9%, %>30: 0.7%

Lot 23 - Accoyo America Star Warrior ARI#: 32322699 Sex: Huacaya Male DOB: 8/3/11 Color: White Sire: Accoyo America Road Warrior Dam: Accoyo America Starfish Star Warrior has the same dense, highfrequency crimp fleece of his sire Road Warrior, and is an integral part of the winning Getof-Sire team for his sire (IAO, Alpacapalooza, MAPACA, CABA Classic). His dam is an El Nino daughter, Accoyo America Starfish, so he’s a genetic combination of both Nautilus and El Nino lines, who hold the record for the two top stud fees bid at public auction. It’s not surprising that Star Warrior has a truly elite fleece with the density and uniformity of El Nino and the fineness, fine-crimp and long staple of Nautilus. With an AFD of 14.0 microns, SD of 3.1, % over 30 of 0.5%, spinning fineness of 13.8, the soft handle of his fleece is breathtaking. Star Warrior’s mean crimp curvature is 56.3, which, along with a CPI of 11 crimps per inch give his fleece exciting visual appeal. He’s a robust, upright junior herdsire with a handsome, true-to-type head that will give his sire a “run for his money”. 2012 Histogram: AFD: 14.0, SD: 3.1, CV: 22.4%, %> 30: 0.5%

Lot 24 - Amber Autumn Kapri Service Sire: Eclipse Alyst

DOB: 5/29/2010 • Color: Medium Fawn Service Sire: Eclipse Alyst

We selected Kapri because not only is she very cute, she also has a very nice pedigree and a fleece to go with it. Her sire “Accoyo America Carinoso”, our medium fawn Caligula son, passes on very nice brightness and crimp character. Her dam “Kiara” is cute as a button and retains nice fineness like her sire “MMR Laredo” and her blue black dam “Saltspring Parfait”. Listen to this! Parfait’s histogram in 2011 at 16 years of age was: 20.7, 3.8, 18.2, 2.4%>30. How many blue black dams do you know of with that kind of fineness? Kapri’s 2011 histogram is not too shabby either at: 16.8, 4.3, 25.4, 1.2>30. She is bred to Eclipse Alyst, sire of our current 4 time fawn male colour champion “Amber Autumn Marqui” for a April 2012 cir.

Lot 25 - Crescent Moon’s Mustang Sally DOB: 3/30/2011 Color: Dark Fawn ARI#: 32376227 Sire: Crescent Moon’s Gear Jammer Dam: Crescent Moon’s Patchwork Patty When we think of females which we would like to produce sons from, Mustang Sally presents the phenotype and substance that we prefer. Her beauty, obviously stated is complimented by her lovely fawn fleece which reveals very good brightness, length and fineness. Traits which her sire, Crescent Moon’s Gear Jammer produces over and over again. Sally sells with a breeding and all Crescent Moon Ranch guarantees. We would choose either Cisco or Venedictos but you may think differently. In 2004 the production class at Crescent Moon Ranch was 70% male. Little did we know at the time that those male cria would represent such a large part of our future. On that list are the names Shiftin Gears, Lunar Breeze, Adonnis, Copenhagen, Semper Fidelis, Prince Charming and of course Kirwin to name a few. With just the names provided here they amassed a total of 60 championships and reserve championships all across the country at Level 4 and Level 5 shows. Kirwin was a cornerstone in the group winning 13 of these championships/reserves on his own, the first at 8 months of age and the last at almost three years of age. He is among the most decorated ever shown and may be the most decorated brown male in the country. As a sire he has lived up to the hype. His cria have demonstrated beautiful phenotype, beautiful fleeces, an array of colors, champions and ribbon winners. Like his name sake, Kirwin has executed excellence. Jim Kirwin was one of the greatest men I have ever known and were he still with us today, my friend Jim would be proud. The same can be said for us here at Crescent Moon Ranch. As a side note, Kirwin has never been formally utilized for sold outside breeding services with the exception of use for our customers. Nor has he been overexposed within the herd here at Crescent Moon Ranch. We believe that fact makes for significant business opportunity for the new ownership. The new owners may feel confident that they will be able to conduct business around Kirwin free of competition from us in the future. Shogun is an offspring of Legacy and Futurity White Color Champion Sequin. Buntaro’s simply the whole package, with great presence, perfect conformation on a solid frame, and the long-staple elite fleece of his parents. In spite of his extreme density, he’s fine at 15.9 microns with an SD of 3.8 and only 0.9% of fibers >30. 2012 Histogram: AFD: 19.7 microns SD: 3.7 microns CV: 19.0 microns Fibers > 30 Microns: 1.6

Like Crescent Moon’s Emmy (available in this sale) Cecilia’s fleece has changed color a couple of times through this first year. At this writing we believe she has finally settled on what will be her fleece for the future and it is stunning. Cecilia’s fleece is very bright and very dense and its high frequency and high amplitude style of crimp is very visible. Cecilia herself is very well grown with a powerful and square frame, complimented by abundant coverage and substance of bone. Said succinctly she looks like a fullback. Each of her parents are champions at Level 5 Shows so there is a history of excellence to consider. Cecilia sells with her first breeding and full ranch guarantees. We like our newest addition LMFI Peruvian Ceasar for this one, but of course you may choose differently.

Sillueta Fleece

What a beautiful pair this mother and daughter tandem make and what an incredible deal this three in one package offers. Sillueta is a striking Mr. Roosevelt daughter and her stunning female offspring, Crescent Moon’s Evening Myst is a daughter by Crescent Moon’s Nitro. Evening Myst is lovely with ideal conformation and a golden fleece that glistens in the sunlight. At this writing she is very young but her blanket appears to have very little variation between the primary and secondary follicles and the staples are long and revealing good density. This is Sillueta’s first cria and she is off to a fantstic start. So to make this interesting we have bred her to Patagonia’s Admiral. Admiral is a black son of the legendary, Lennox owned bred by Alpacas de la Patagonia. Admiral is owned by both Alpaca’s de la Patagonia and Zumbador Alpacas. We expect a very handsome offspring from this pairing with very good fineness and other championship qualities. Lot 45 - Accoyo America Sashay ARI#: 32274226 • Sex: Full Accoyo Huacaya Female DOB: 8/27/11 • Color: White Sire: Accoyo America Ulysses • Dam: PCA Accoyo Saturna

Sashay is a full-Accoyo offspring of two time IAO Supreme Champion and AOBA Fleece Judges Choice Ulysses and Accoyo Saturna. Saturna is notable for producing very soft, “silky” offspring that hold their fineness into older age. Sashay should follow this pattern—she currently has a laser AFD of 15.8 microns and SD of 2.8, with only 0.3% over 30 microns. Sashay is very true-to-type with a pleasing head and fine-elite fleece. I would concentrate on reproducing her fineness with a complimentary breeding to AOBA Judges Choice Kashmir, or if you want to stick with full-Accoyo lineage, Accoyo America Denali, who has produced offspring with an AFD as low as 12 microns. 2012 Histogram: AFD: 15.8, SD: 2.8, CV: 17.6%, %>30: 0.3%

Especially with a stunning little Crescent Moon’s Accoyo Nobility daughter at her side. This full Peruvian three in one package represents an incredible array of genetics which any herd in America would be fortunate to own. Bueno’s Joy is a very pleasing female with excellent capacity and a beautiful fleece. Her daughter, Crescent Moon’s Feliz is a Nobility daughter that is absolutely striking. Already we can see intense brightness in her fleece and very good density and there is no doubt that this fleece will be fine as well. At this writing, Bueno’s Joy has been exposed to Champion of Champions winner, Crescent Moon’s Accoyo Venedictos. We like it……and we like it a lot!

Lot 48 - Accoyo America Cheyenne ARI#: 32085747 Sex: Huacaya Male DOB: 6/8/10 Color: White Sire: Accoyo America Endeavor Dam: Accoyo America Heidi Cheyenne is a unique Hemingway-Accoyo herdsire, similar in phenotype and closely related to Tronador, who sold at last year’s Parade of Champions. He has a similar long-staple, high-character fleece that’s very uniform. A distinctive attribute of his histogram is his medullation curve that shows a very symmetric bell-shaped curve that’s very close in fineness to his secondary fibers. The result is an absolutely striking fleece that opens easily with distinct, separate bundles. His high-degree of fiber-to-fiber uniformity gave him a CV in his first year of 15.9% (lowest of all of our 2010 production) with only 0.4% over 30 microns and a spinning fineness of 17.7 microns. Cheyenne carries his elite fleece on a solid upright frame and a dense topknot and masculine head. 2011 Histogram: AFD: 19.3, SD: 3.1, CV: 15.9%, %> 30: 0.4%

Parade of Champions Three Top Farms...

48 Great Lots! The Parade of Champions Auction features animals from three of the top breeders in the United States. Pacific Crest Accoyo America is consistently among the top winners at shows across the country. They breed animals from the Accoyo line with full fleece coverage that is extremely uniform and low in micron count. They are frequent winners of Get of Sire competitions. Crescent Moon Ranch has a long history of breeding fine dense fleeces and is always in the top running for the blue ribbons. They had a great Futurity Show including grey color champion. Don’t miss the chance to acquire their exceptional genetics.

Alpacas de la Patagonia specializes in high quality alpacas in an array of colors. One of the most important aspects of their business is to help new alpaca breeders get started and to provide them with continuous support and education.

Guest Speaker Cameron Holt Cameron’s work has laid the foundations by which Alpaca fleece is judged across the world. He wrote the fleece judging rules for Alpaca associations on three continents and continues to work closely with alpaca judges the world over to refine the fleece judging protocols and manuals.
