Cupcake 3

For a candy buffet bag, sizes of 3”x4” or 4”x6” are great for guests. Offer a twist tie, ribbon, twine, a clothespin to tie it up and take it home. Glassine bags are another fine option and you can provide a label or sticker to seal them closed.

Getting your Goodies

That little word “Presentation”

You can pre-order cupcakes at almost any bakery or make them yourself. Both Allrecipes.com and Tasteofhome.com have cupcake categories. Make a few flavors a week before your event. Freeze them and then bring them out to room temperature the morning of your event. Try to have at least 5 different flavors available to your guests.

Provide a bowl to place by your bags at your candy buffet that holds the item to seal the bag or close it off. A strand of twine is easy to use by making a simple knot. You can even prepare a few dozen to-go bags and display them on a platter for the guest who couldn’t attend or just to have on hand.

You can purchase candy just about anywhere. Consider a variety of 10 different types. Here are just a few ideas...vanilla tootsie rolls, Dum Dum suckers, chocolate kisses, coffee candy, taffy, and licorice sticks in a long narrow container. If you are going to buy candy early before your event, put it in an airtight container or a freezer bag to keep it nice and fresh.
