Elements of CLC

Coursework

CLC participants attend a class called Colloquium (Latin for “conversation”) every Thursday evening.

Fall Retreat

Held the first weekend after the first week of school, the retreat includes a twoday seminar on the annual topic of study, community building, and worship.

Temenos Small Groups

Students engage in discussions about the class reading materials and share personal experiences and questions.

Credo Exploration

Credo, or “I believe,” is an assignment that enables students to integrate academics and field experience into self-identity and to formulate theological perspective.

PATHWAYS

CLC students have the opportunity to serve in internship roles while earning service hours for Trek Community or Career requirements. By participating in PATHWAYS, students are able to discern their future through one-on-one internships and service hours with local community partners.

CLC

“CLC has blessed me with lifelong Christian friends. We have forged a determined community of young adults who seek to praise the Lord. CLC has helped me become a man who possesses vulnerability, respect, and integrity. My goal is to embody the love of Christ, and share it with the world.”

CLC

“CLC has provided us with such an empowering and nurturing environment where we can develop and act as bold Christian leaders. While we do have fun and make friends along the way, the lessons we learn and the activities we do together are invaluable. I love the community we foster here.”

CLC Honors Endorsement

Honors Endorsement is recognized by many regional faith communities and faith-based non-profits as proof of one’s readiness for lay ministry, seminary training, interfaith outreach, non-profit leadership, and/or religious affiliated educational institutions. Through CLC’s PATHWAYS, students who successfully complete six or more semesters of CLC and who also earn academic credit or field experience in the courses outlined in PATHWAYS will receive Honors Endorsement from Centenary’s Christian Leadership Center. For more information, see the Pathways guidelines.

CLC Social Representative

“ Being a part of CLC is fun! It’s easy to develop a sense of community through CLC. I love learning about how I can serve Christ and others through this organization. It’s a very engaging course!”

CLC Pathways

Students looking to enhance their CLC experience may choose among several PATHWAY specializations. PATHWAYS guide students through experiential paths and more intensive study for vocation and service such as Interfaith Outreach, Theological Studies, Religious Education, and Non-Profit Leadership. Students completing the CLC PATHWAYS are eligible to receive Honors Endorsement by the Christian Leadership Center.
