As we start a brand new-year CBS is happy to highlight Tabitha Lloyd. Tabitha's journey to become an Artist and Business Woman wasn't born out of the dreams of a child; it was a well thought out plan to navigate the obstacles that life had placed in her path. As a single mother Tabitha needed a stable career path to support her son however, she also recognized the importance of honoring herself with a path that would provide joy and enable her to be the best version of herself. Looking back Tabitha is sure that this is what she was destined to do

After graduating hair school Tabitha was grateful to launch her career in a positive, supportive environment with the Commisso family (@ Salon Commisso in Woodstock) where she felt as if she was "one of their own". Tabitha was able to express herself creatively, continuously grow, and shape a business that worked for her and provided for her family. "I get to go to work with a smile on my face and bring joy to people's lives". This career has also allowed her to collaborate with other industry professionals, and build relationships with clientele that transcend the salon as she shared their special occasions. "Many of my clients have become dear friends".

The last few years have been a very unsure time for many; and it was a scary time for Tabitha as working required her to be in such close contact with people. But, like so many times before when she felt backed into a corner, something beautiful materialized. Tabitha used her down time to figure out where the market was lacking in the hair industry, and created a side business in hair extensions. "The process of pulling together all of my ideas for this business during such an uncertain time, has been one of the most therapeutic periods of my life. It helped me regain focus and remember why I love this industry, and how with just a little bit of creativity I can create another new path of my dreams".

Tabitha feels privileged to have had the honor of sharing her gifts with those less fortunate on the streets of Kelowna, British Columbia. "It meant a lot to me to be able to connect with that community and the amazing individuals who are a part of it, have them trust me to cut their hair and share their life stories with me. I am incredibly grateful that I have a skill that can be shared in so many different ways. I love that a career in hair doesn't put you in a box. You can be as creative as you want to find ways to share this gift with others". Tabitha's Aunt once told her... if you do what you love you will never work a day in your life; and she can say with 100% certainty that her Aunt was absolutely right!
