Montverde Academy

Montverde Academy is delighted to present the Educational Technology and Innovation Center (ETIC), where students can discover their excitement for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), with the help of advanced resources at their fingertips. This is a space for students to explore and collaborate as they investigate and seek to solve real-life problems related to their studies across the curriculum. From brainstorming potential solutions with classmates and teachers to creating and testing those solutions, students will engage directly in this work, not only learning the material directly related to their projects but also developing life-long skills that will serve them well in future coursework and beyond.

The Academy seeks daily to inspire students to innovate in different platforms. We believe that today’s learner’s, need to be thinkers, and that is where the ETIC sets a place where each student can try out new and fresh ideas. These problem-solving situations will help develop the necessary thinking skills they need for their future careers.

Montverde Academy understands that education has changed over the last 20 years, with technology being integrated in our daily lives and academia. With extensive research and collaboration with teachers and field experts in Central Florida and across the world, our students will interact in fields brand new to their knowledge. They will be able to step into the shoes of forensic scientists, for example, and learn how to analyze a crime scene by examining blood types, reviewing evidence, and collecting samples from the scene, in a Forensic Science course. The Academy will be offering courses, such as the one described before, that will challenge the students’ minds in a way that they can learn beyond what they could ever imagine.

Other aspects of the ETIC will include creating 3-D models to study surface area, volume, and velocity. Print 3-D models can be used for Kinesiology, Anatomy, and Physiology coursework to understand how joints, muscles, and ligaments work together. Design and creation for original costumes for the Fine Arts productions can also be made through these 3-D print models.

Virtual Reality technology will be a part of the experience in the ETIC, as they can travel to Ancient Greece and Rome, board the Mayflower and step into Anne Frank’s home during World War II. However, they can also submerge themselves deep into the ocean to study marine life and explore deserts or jungles around the world, or even launch up to space to explore the galaxies! For our athletic students, they will be able to analyze, track and evaluate movement to increase overall performance and reduce the risk of injury.

From robotics to a production studio, to designing a new video game, the possibilities are endless. This new center creates opportunities for interdisciplinary and crossdivisional work, helping students see the ways that the skills and content they are learning in one area of the curriculum, connects to other areas. Christ-Centered Education

Foundation Academy has been in private Christian education since 1958. Christ has always been at the center of the Foundation Academy educational experience. After 60 plus years, it remains the same.

Each year at Foundation, the administration and the students select a theme based on the truth of God's word. This year the theme is "Steadfast, Galatians 6:9: " Let us not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don't give up." It has never been more critical to remain faithful and steadfast in light of the adversity surrounding education and in-person learning. Foundation Academy, Winter Garden's First Baptist Church, our families, and students have remained steadfast. Foundation Academy delivers an exceptional educational experience that fosters growth in both mind and spirit.

Accomplished

The graduating class of 2021 had 100% college placement and earned an astounding $6.17 million in college scholarships. They earned eight thousand five hundred community service hours over the past year. Out of a graduating class of 63, it had 35 AP scholars. They earned 930 college credits through dual enrollment. The entire student body of over 1,000 students represents over 120 churches in the Central Florida area.

Foundation Academy is comprised of three campuses Plant St., Tilden, and Lakeside. All three campuses offer a unique setting and atmosphere optimal for learning. Plant St. is located in the heart of the city's historic charm of Winter Garden and serves Pre-K through 6th grade. The Tilden Campus sits on 63 plus acres in a beautiful rural setting of Winter Garden and houses grades 7 through 12. Finally, Lakeside offers Kindergarten through 4th grade and is located in Orlando between Winter Garden and prestigious Windermere. This past year Foundation was proud to expand its offering to online learning with Foundation Academy Virtual Learning (FAVL) for those who prefer to learn from home and work at their own pace.
