Trustco Bank Turns Its Focus to Brick and Mortar Locations
As other banks abandon brick and mortar locations, learn how Trustco Bank bucks the trend.
By Eric Schreck -Executive Vice President & Florida Regional President, Trustco Bank
So many aspects of our lives have gone digital. Everything from grocery shopping, doctor’s appointments, and especially banking is online. This was in motion long before the pandemic. But, as more of our lives are happening online – brick and mortar businesses are struggling to find their place. This has forced the closure of many physical stores, including banks. That’s why Trustco Bank prioritizes the relationships we have with our patrons at our 53 branch locations throughout the state of Florida.
If you’ve noticed that your neighborhood bank has recently cut its hours or closed its branch entirely, you’re not alone. The FDIC reports that banks are closing at an alarming rate. In 2002, there were nearly 8,000 commercial banks doing business in the United States. Now, just over half of them have closed and only 4,194 of them are still standing. Wells Fargo, U.S. Bank and Truist are closing the most locations – and Florida is one of the states hit hardest by these closures. At Trustco, we’re committed to brickand-mortar banking locations in your community and we’re proud of the more than 215 people we employ at our branches across Florida who help serve you, our customers, every day.
Banking is a personal business. It’s personal to you – and it’s personal to us. At Trustco, we live in the communities we serve so we understand your unique needs. While some people have turned to online banking entirely, we understand that it doesn’t command the loyalty or personal trust that you can get by developing relationships with financial experts at your local bank. If a question should arise while you’re getting a mortgage, a personal loan, or getting some cash from the ATM, consider the convenience of stopping by your local branch and speaking with a person you can trust, rather than talking to a chatbot or someone at a call center with your online bank.
While we offer robust online banking services, we value establishing in-person relationships with our clients. If you stop by one of our 43 branch locations throughout central Florida, we can do so much for you in person. It’s never too early – or too late – to start retirement planning. A little financial planning can go a long way when it comes to budgeting and meeting financial goals, so if you haven’t met with a financial planner yet, we’d be happy to help you.
Whether you’re interested in learning about a mortgage, home construction loan, business or personal loan, we can tailor a solution to meet your unique needs. At Trustco, we recognize that a ‘one size fits all’ approach doesn’t work when it comes to banking. We work with each of our clients to understand their individual needs and goals and help provide unique solutions that work for them. While many banks around the country are closing their doors and resorting to impersonal, online banking, you can rest assured that Trustco is committed to doing business with you, in your community, right here in central Florida.
