SMILES OF ORLANDO

“There is nothing more rewarding than exceeding our patients’ expectations when giving them the smile, comfort and function they always wanted.” That’s what Dr. Javier Martinez and his staff at Smiles of Orlando take the most pride in while serving their patients.

Growing up in a household where his father was a dentist inspired Dr. Martinez to join the profession. He considers his father one of his biggest mentors, crediting his father’s love of the profession as a motivator to help others.

Dr. Martinez earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Leon in Nicaragua and graduated at the top of his class. He continued his education by completing his Master of Science degree with a specialty in prosthodontics at the University of Minneapolis – one of the top dental schools in the nation.

Smiles of Orlando opened its doors to the Central Florida community in 2004. With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Martinez performs full mouth rehabilitation with a special focus on dental implants. His mission is to provide a quality replacement for what the patient is missing, as well as to help preserve what they have remaining. Dental treatment ranges from tooth whitening to crown replacement to full reconstruction.

Dr. Martinez stays on top of the newest technology and techniques in his profession, logging hours of continuing education and training. He also takes pride in educating his patients on the care he provides. Dr. Martinez and his staff provide personal attention to each patient and ensure they’re providing clarity on each procedure.

“We spend quality time with our patients and don’t rush the process,” he says.

Dr. Martinez is the immediate past president of the Florida Prosthodontic Association. He is also a member of the Florida Dental Association, American Dental Association, Academy of Osseointegration and the Dental Society of Greater Orlando.

When he’s not spending time with his patients, Dr. Martinez enjoys the outdoors, specifically activities such as hiking, biking and camping. He also loves traveling, photography, and spending time with his wife and three children.

LAKE NONA OPHTHALMOLOGY

“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.” This quote by Henry David Thoreau is something that Dr. Chirag Patel of Lake Nona Ophthalmology lived by when pursuing his dream of helping others through medicine.

Dr. Patel attended the University of Florida for his undergraduate and medical degrees. He then com¬pleted a one-year training program in internal medi¬cine at Richmond University Medical Center and a three-year residency in ophthalmology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. He pursued fellow¬ship training in medical retina disease and research at the UF Health in Jacksonville.

During his residency, Dr. Patel worked with his mentor, Dr. Elahi, a renowned ophthalmic plastic sur¬geon at Mount Sinai Medical Center. He taught Dr. Patel advanced aesthetic techniques, as well as the importance of a strong doctor-patient relationship.

As a comprehensive ophthalmologist with a subspecialty in medical retina, and years of experience in non-invasive facial cosmetic rejuvenation, Dr. Patel performs surgeries involving the eye and eyelids, such as cataract surgery, eyelid lifts, and laser vision correc¬tion; additionally, he performs aesthetic procedures. He is a member of American Academy of Ophthalmol¬ogy, American Medical Association, New York Acade¬my of Medicine and Florida Society of Ophthalmology.

Outside of the office, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, photography, playing sports and rooting for his Gators!

REMAGIN

For over 10 years, the teams at Orlando Eye Institute and Parbhu Oculofacial Plastic Surgery have proudly treated the residents of Dr. Phillips and Windermere, serving your eye and oculoplastic needs with compassion, respect and professionalism. As the practice has grown, thanks to the support of their patients and their community, the doctors have been able to integrate cutting-edge technologies into the practice and broaden the scope of what they can provide for their patients.

While the doctors have always been about improving the quality of their patients’ lives, they now have a much clearer vision of how to do so. This allows them to optimize vision, decrease spectacle and eye drop usage, bring comfort and instill confidence in your appearance — all in a safe and welcoming environment that their patients have come to expect.

Dr. Deepak Raja earned his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine before completing an internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, an ophthalmology residency at Vanderbilt Eye Institute in Nashville and a cornea and anterior segment fellowship at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Keshini Parbhu received her medical degree at Vanderbilt University and completed a fellowship in oculofacial plastic surgery through the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery — an elite societyof less than 600 members.

Drs. Parbhu and Raja are both board-certified physicians who believe in providing direct care to their patients. They perform all procedures and surgeries and provide all perioperative care to patients. All injectable and laser treatments are performed by Dr. Parbhu.

Most recently, aesthetic services were expanded, and the doctors plan on continuing to evolve in the upcoming years in an effort to meet their patients’ ever-changing needs. In the past year alone, they have added exciting new offerings, such as the Light Adjustable Lens for cataract surgery and minimally invasive surgical facelifts.

In order to reflect this open-minded concept, the doctors have opted to change the practice’s name to Remagin. While their commitment to your care remains the same, they can now provide a wider array of treatments, all under one roof, without the restrictions or barriers of conventional thinking. Instead, they want you to concentrate on the things that make you happy and let them help you get there! Refine. Refocus. Remagin.

ARTHRITIS CENTER OF ORLANDO

Success is a journey, not a destination. This is a motto that Dr. Nimesh Dayal has lived by throughout his career. His journey began at University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa where he earned his undergraduate degree. From there, he earned his MRCP from the Royal College of Physicians in England and his Masters in Clinical Investigation from Northwestern University.

Dr. Dayal completed his residency at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center in West Reading, Pennsylvania. It was there that he met his mentor, his Program Director, Dr. David George. “He was the ultimate professional, yet most compassionate of rheumatologist,” explained Dr. Dayal. He brings that same compassion to all of his patients at the Arthritis Center of Orlando.

Specializing in Internal Medicine with a subspecialty in Rheumatology, Dr. Dayal began practicing in Central Florida in 2013. Arthritis Orlando is committed to providing superior, state-of-the art medical treatment in a safe and caring environment. They offer a comprehensive rheumatological evaluation for patients with various forms of arthritis and connective tissue disease.

Rheumatoid arthritis remains one of the most common types of autoimmune arthritis which is triggered by a faulty immune system. Early treatment can control the pain and lessen the joint damage. This prevents long-term disability and allows the patient to maintain an active life. Dr. Dayal performs intravenous infusions of chemotherapeutic drugs to help treat the various types of arthritis and to prevent joint damage and disease progression. These drugs assist in blocking the chemicals that cause the inflammation.

Dr. Dayal also has interest in performing clinical studies of various investigational drugs for treatment of inflammatory arthritis. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national meetings.

Dr. Dayal also performs joint aspiration, joint injections, and ultrasound examinations of the peripheral joints and assists patients in exploring non-surgical treatment options for certain conditions. He is board certified in both internal medicine and rheumatology and is a member of the American College of Rheumatology — an organization that advances rheumatology through education, research, and advocacy.

Office hours range from 8:00am-5:00pm Monday through Thursday and 8:00am-12:00pm on Friday. Arthritis Orlando accepts all major insurance providers.
