ALL SUMMER LONG OCLS Virtual Summer Reading Virtual Event

Orange County Library System is offering programs, classes and events online so families can enjoy all the library has to offer from the comfort of home. Age groups include ages 0-5, ages 6-12, ages 11- 18 and an adult summer reading program for adults over 18. Participants will need an OCLS library card to register for virtual events and to be eligible to win prizes.

July 4 AdventHealth Watermelon 5k

7:30 a.m.

Virtual Event

$8-$38 TrackShack.com It’s easy to participate. First, select one of the virtual 5k packages then pick up your tank and medal packages curbside from July 1-3 (shipping is available before June 26 for $3 per household), and complete your virtual race anywhere, anytime. Submit your results only by July 11. Proceeds are donated to the Track Shack Youth Foundation.

July 16 Sunset at the Zoo

5:30-9 p.m. Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens 3755 W. Seminole Blvd. Sanford, FL 32771 $5 admission CentralFloridaZoo.org Take happy hour outside! Adults over age 21 can stroll through the zoo, enjoy live music and sip on beer and wine (available for purchase) while seeing the animals during sunset.

July 22 Art 101 - Fantasy in Art

OCLS.info Orange County Public Library offers this exciting and engaging virtual class. Artists have been imagining and depicting fantastic creatures and worlds since humanity’s earliest civilizations. Learn why fantasy continues to capture the imagination of artists today.

July 25-26 Weekends at the Winery

Live entertainment on the outdoor stage will take place from noon to 4 p.m. each day. This event takes place every other weekend.

July 28 Edible Gardening

July 29 Battle of the Brains at Home

Raffle prizes include Disney tickets, jewelry, restaurant gift cards and more. Entry fee includes admission into the virtual trivia game and automatic entry into our prize raffle.

August 15 Appetite for the Arches 2020 Virtual Event

RMHCCF.org Local top chefs will put their creativity to the test using McDonald’s ingredients in this unique foodie competition. Check the website for more details as they become available.

August 22 Wishmaker’s Ball

5-10 p.m. Waldorf Astoria WishmakersBall.com This signature event for the local chapter of Make-a-Wish Foundation will include an evening filled with entertainment as well as an opportunity to hear directly from the wish children whose lives have been touched by the power of a wish. All funds raised stay locally to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. Check the website for updates for this event as they become available.
