What is Low E coating?

Filling the space between glazing layers with Argon gas reduces conduction heat loss because Argon has a lower conductivity than oxygen. And because Argon is heavier than oxygen, it also reduces convection heat loss.

Low E coating allows most of the sun’s spectrum to pass through the windows in your home, while reflecting most Ultraviolet Light, which helps protect your carpets, drapes and furniture from the fading and discoloration associated with exposure to Ultraviolet Light.

What is R-Value?

On the interior side of your windows, Low E coating reflects most of the heat energy from any source back into your home. Low E keeps heat inside in the winter & outside in the summer, ensuring your comfort all year long.

Laminate Floors

Laminate flooring comes conveniently packaged in planks that are generally four feet long. They are also available in tile form in varying sizes. Today’s laminate floors offer virtually unlimited variety in simulating the look of different natural hardwood, stone and ceramic materials, and are even embossed to somewhat reproduce the surface texture of these natural materials. The wear layer of a laminate floor protects the material from stains, scratches and some spills, making cleaning and maintenance quite easy. Typically, sweeping or vacuuming your laminate regularly will remove grit and dirt which can erode the wear layer over time. Installation is usually a click together method, and is a simple DIY project requiring no adhesive. Simply lay down your underlayment, and snap your planks or tiles into one another!

Vinyl Floors

They’ve been around for a long time, but today’s vinyl floors are nothing like they were in the past! Offering nearly endless colour and pattern options - vinyl recreates the look of hardwood, tile and stone floors in a very realistic way. Vinyl is a low maintenance floor requiring little more than keeping dirt and grit off it, and damp mopping with an approved cleaner once the grit is gone. Vinyl is almost impervious to water penetration - a huge plus for high moisture areas in any home. Vinyl does not get cold in the winter, and is soft and silent beneath your feet! Vinyl floors are highly durable when properly installed and maintained, and are resistant to tears and scratches due to durable wear layers that are part of the manufacturing process. Vinyl tile and plank floors are also relatively easy to install, although your subfloor must be level.

Glazed ceramic tiles are impervious to water and stain penetration, and are completely resistant to the effects of humidity (although grout lines must be sealed to ensure this).
