Welcome to
CENTRALOTAGO
A GUIDE FOR NEW RESIDENTS
Welcome to
CENTRAL OTAGO It is my great pleasure as Mayor to be welcoming you to Central Otago. How fortunate we all are to live here, in what I believe is the best part of the best country in the world today. Central Otago is a place of contrasts – from the heat of summer to the crispness of winter, from the blue of the lakes to the brown of the hills. It is truly a World of Difference.
Please take the time to explore the whole district and see for yourself just how much this special place has to offer. Find the time to travel off the State Highways to explore the full scope of our area. This is a great place to call home. Get used to people being jealous when you tell them where you live and to friends and family wanting to visit. This brochure has some useful starting points to the Council services and facilities. Our Council is heavily focussed on customer services. We are here to help!
I like to be out and about throughout Central Otago, so please feel free to come up and say Hi and let me know how you are settling in.

WATER
Most urban centres in our district are on Council provided water and sewerage schemes. If you need to talk about your connections phone Council on 440 0056 or email water@codc.govt.nz.
Council promotes being water wise and in most parts of the district Council-supplied water is metered.
If you are going to be heading away over the winter months, consider draining your water pipes to prevent damage. If you are unsure how to do this seek advice from a local plumber. More information about water, sewerage and stormwater can be found at:
