ALL-SAA HONORABLE MENTION
The Colonels were all over the place during Spring Break. This graphic shows the locations where Centre had student-athletes competing.
HAYHURST CONTINUES STORIED CAREER NINE-TIME ALL-AMERICAN SARAH HAYHURST IS ONE OF THE MOST ACCOMPLISHED STUDENT-ATHLETES IN CENTRE HISTORY... AND SHE'S NOT FINISHED YET. Sarah Hayhurst is the most decorated Centre student-athlete of the modern era and perhaps Centre's most accomplished student-athlete ever. A native of Newburgh, Ind., Hayhurst is a nine-time All-American - seven times in diving and twice in track and field - with a chance at a tenth All-America honor this spring during track season. Hayhurst has swept the Southern Athletic Association Women's Diver of the Year award for all four years of her collegiate career, and is a seven-time Regional Champion in diving. In 2017 and 2018, Hayhurst finished as the national runner-up in the 1 Meter diving competition, finishing just 1.05 points shy of a national championship as a senior.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS - NINE-TIME ALL-AMERICAN (DIVING 7X, POLE VAULT 2X) - TWO-TIME NCAA RUNNER-UP, WOMEN'S 1M DIVING - SEVEN-TIME ZONE 2 REGIONAL DIVING CHAMPION
In addition to her diving accolades, Hayhurst is also a two-time All-American for the Colonels in pole vault, earning the honors in 2016 and 2017 with the 2018 track season still pending. Hayhurst recently added another honor for her efforts away from competition, being named a National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) All-American Athlete of the Year for her dedication to strength training and conditioning.
- EIGHT-TIME SAA DIVING CHAMPION (1M 4X, 3M 4X) - FOUR-TIME SAA WOMEN'S DIVER OF THE YEAR - THREE-TIME SAA POLE VAULT CHAMPION (2015, 2016, 2017) - NSCA ALL-AMERICAN ATHLETE OF THE YEAR (DIVING)

1. Monday, May 7 will see one of the biggest days of the year for Centre Athletics as Newlin Hall will host the third annual Centre Athletics Awards Show. Hosted by Centre women's soccer assistant coach Jessica Chisley, the CAAS celebrates all things Centre Athletics, with coaches and Centre SAAC representatives presenting awards to Centre student-athletes. Awards are determined by a combination of coaches' choice, SAAC voting and faculty/staff criteria. 2. Led by first-year Head Coach Monica Scott, 2018 has been a history-making season for Centre women's lacrosse thus far. After dropping a close season opener at Capital, the Colonels have won their last 12 games to set a program record for consecutive victories. During that stretch, Centre has outscored its opponents 219-71, winning by an average margin of over 12 goals per game. The Colonels currently rank seventh in NCAA Division III with a +10 average scoring margin for the season. Centre starts six seniors, and has three individuals - Hannah Bellamah, Haden Gibbons and Colleen Jackson - who have eclisped 100 career goals. 3. Centre Athletics sits 62nd out of more than 450 institutions in the latest NCAA Division III Learfield Directors' Cup Standings, released at the end of the winter season. After a successful fall - led by field hockey's 70-point contribution - the Colonels remain on pace to eclipse last year's 121st-place finish. Centre received 52.5 points from its women's swimming and diving squad, and currently sit second to Birmingham Southern among Southern Athletic Association programs in the overall standings. 4. The Colonels have increasingly been more involved with Centre's Green Dot efforts. A Green Dot is "any behavior, choice, word, or attitude that promotes safety for everyone, and communicates utter intolerance for interpersonal violence, dating or domestic violence, and stalking." A handful of teams have participated in "Green Dot Games" throughout the year to promote the cause against violence, and dozens of individuals - including student-athletes, coaches and administrators - have undergone Green Dot training in an effort to make Centre a safer community.
