Homecoming 2013
NOV. 1-2
“A MAN TRAVELS THE WORLD IN SEARCH OF WHAT HE NEEDS, AND RETURNS HOME TO FIND IT.” – GEORGE MOORE
#1 IN THE NATION FOR STUDY ABROAD
Welcome
Homecoming 2013
As the Kentucky weather cools and the many trees on campus turn to rich colors of gold, I delight in thinking of who will return home this November to join us for Homecoming Weekend. In the pages that follow, you will find a schedule full of activities to ensure you enjoy your time back on campus. This year promises to be a memorable one – we will honor distinguished alumni and outstanding athletes; reconnect with classmates and professors from our study abroad adventures; cheer on our Colonels; and revel in stellar musical performances throughout the weekend! Let us also remember that Homecoming at Centre is a special time to welcome back alumni who are celebrating their class reunions. When you arrive on campus, please be sure to stop by the Alumni House to check in, grab a quick bite, and pick up your 2013 Homecoming Weekend commemorative gift. As always, I look forward to seeing you,
Megan Haake Milby ’03 Director of Alumni Affairs 1

SCOTTY MCCREERY Friday
Newlin Hall, Norton Center for the Arts
Country music superstar Scotty McCreery has had a blindingly rapid rise to stardom since he became American Idol's youngest male winner at age 17, as well as the show’s first country male winner in 2011. The Garner, NC native quickly emerged as one of country music’s most successful new artists after his debut album topped the Billboard Top 200 and Top Country charts, earning him a spot in the Guinness World Records for being the youngest male in history to score a no.1 album on the all-genre chart with a debut release. The hot streak continued as Scotty went on to win New Artist of the Year at both the 2011 American Country Awards and the 2012 Academy of Country Music Awards. He also picked up the USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year for “The Trouble With girls” at the 2012 CMT Music Awards. McCreery was ranked No. 1 on Billboard’s list of Top New Country Artists in 2011 and also ranked No. 4 on Billboard’s list of “21 Under 21: Music’s Hottest Minors 2012,” for his second consecutive year.
