Life is an award-winning Science Centre full of exciting hands-on exhibitions and activities that are all included in the admission price. Enjoy shows in our state-of-the-art planetarium and Science Theatre, take a whirl on the 4D Motion Ride and explore our interactive exhibitions. For scouting and girl guiding groups we also offer special badge days and sleepover events, as well as group packages for our open air ice rink, which is open each year from November to February. There are no limits to the size of your party; we’re very flexible and can provide meal packages, bespoke workshops in our laboratories and even exclusive hire of the whole Science Centre or ice rink!

Badge Days
Sleepovers
At Life we offer specially tailored visits to help Brownies and Cubs towards their Stargazer and Astronomer badges, and to help Brownies towards their Science Investigator Badge.*
Pack your sleeping bags for a whole night in the Science Centre! Sleepovers at Life can be tailored to meet your group’s requirements, but typically include full access to the Science Centre, a special indoor campfire, activities, games, refreshments and time in our gift shop.
Group leaders will receive an information pack detailing the requirements of the badge, what will be achieved during the visit and which additional activities need to be undertaken to complete the badges. ‘My Brownies had a wonderful day out – they enjoyed visiting the lab, the staff, the experiments, the packed lunch area, the exhibitions, in fact the whole experience.’
We can cater for a whole range of groups to attend a sleepover at Life. We provide a safe and comfortable environment and our experienced staff will ensure you have an enjoyable stay. If you would like to incorporate one of our badge days with your sleepover we are very happy to discuss the ideal package for your group.

Skating@Life November - February Come for a skate on the region’s favourite outdoor ice rink and take advantage of our group packages.
Bring a group of 10 or more and 1 in every 10 people comes free! Combine your skate with a show in the planetarium or a trip on the 4D Motion Ride, or include a full Science Centre visit. Food and drink packages can also be added to suit your requirements, from simple chips and hot chocolate to more elaborate meals. The rink can also be hired exclusively for larger groups.
