Humber Spa App (Evaluapp) Feedback to students at any point in a project is crucial for learning. This mobile tablet tool enables faculty to quickly evaluate student work, in process, and provide feedback. This helps students progress in their work in real time. The Humber Spa EvaluApp has been purposefully designed to be adapted and used with any Humber school or program that requires evaluations and assessment on in-process projects. Early testing with faculty indicates that the tool is quick to set up and easy to use and students appreciate the timely feedback. This paperless evaluation tool contributes to Humber’s commitment to sustainability and can integrate into current and future LMS ecosystems. From top left to right:

INNOVATION OF THE YEAR AWARD
Mass Casualty Scenario and Competency Mastery through Virtual Reality The School of Health Sciences, Media Studies and Information Technology and The Centre for Teaching and Learning collaborated to develop a virtual reality (VR) training program to enhance paramedic student resilience. It allows a safe, immersive environment in which to expose students to the real world stress of pre-hospital conditions. This challenges students to become aware of and understand their own unique stress reactions. This innovation has pioneered an approach that can be adapted for other Humber programs interested in immersive teaching and learning technology. This 21st century medium allows us to experiment with new methodologies, challenge existing roles and definitions of teaching and learning and affords the opportunity to do research on the efficacy of VR as a learning tool.
