recycling Signs

Workplaces create a significant amount of waste that can be recycled.

Recycling is an excellent way of saving energy, reducing carbon emissions and reducing the amount of waste going to landfill. It is also an essential component in achieving environmental standards such as ISO 14001. Employees should be encouraged to recycle and employers should set clear guidelines.

Maintaining high standards of recycling at work does not have to be difficult, but identifying what to recycle and putting bins and signs in place will make it easy and help to encourage employees to recycle.

Where to start

• Perform a waste assessment of the types of waste generated by different departments / functions in the business.

• Identify the type and size of the recycling bin needed in key areas

• Position bins and signage

• Communicate and train employees on recycling policy and procedure

A-BOARDS

What is an A-Board?

An A-Board is a double-sided standing sign that is commonly used to convey a warning message about a temporary hazard. A-Boards provide the perfect lightweight portable sign that can be positioned where required and removed after use.

Why do I need an A-Board?

It’s an employers responsibility to warn employees and members of the public of any potential hazards. If you fail to warn people properly of a potential hazard in which an individual then experiences harm the organisation can then face legal proceedings. Where a temporary potential hazard occurs such as wet floor, A-Boards are the perfect way to communicate the warning until the hazard can be resolved.

What different kinds of A-Boards are there?

Manufactured from polypropylene this durable A-Board is designed to help reduce the risk of accidents or injuries occurring by highlighting temporary hazards. This double-sided A-Board is lightweight and is easily transportable with its integral carry handle.

Economy A-Boards are manufactured from 4mm Correx board providing a lightweight and cost-effective temporary option. Your own choice of adhesive sign can be added to either side of the A-Board making it extremely versatile.

A-Boards are commonly used with hazard warning messages, however they can be used for a number of messages where a temporary instruction or communication is required. Our custom A-Board service is ideal for printing your own message or adding your logo / branding.

Slip incidents are extremely common and result in severe to permanent injuries.

The majority of slip accidents take place in the workplace or public areas and can be caused from ice, snow, water, oil and debris with the most common being from wet floor, spills and leaks.

Need a Site Survey?

By law the correct safety signage should be displayed in the appropriate locations and to current legal standards. A Site Survey is advisable if you are unsure of your legal obligations or have been notified by a regulatory body that your current signage is not adequate.

• Site Surveys identify the signs you need, including size, positioning and materials, as well as any bespoke sign manufacturing service needs.

• Site Surveys also provide advice on ensuring the safety of you and your staff, including Lockout Tagout and Asset Management.

Floor Markings

Floor graphics and markings provide safety, informational or directional information at specific locations, often in areas where there is not always an appropriate place to site a standard sign.

Materials and Specification

Our floor graphics are digitally printed onto self adhesive vinyl with a permanent adhesive on the reverse. The graphic is then laminated with a clear matt embossed PVC laminate, which is certified to R9 grade for slip resistance. These signs should be applied to sealed flat surfaces such as laminates, painted or varnished floors or whole tiles, and are suitable for dry indoor locations.

A higher specification (R11) is suitable for outdoor conditions and is available on request, please ask for details.

Application and Use

1) Locate the area where the graphic is to be placed, ensure the surface is suitable for the graphic as rough or porous surfaces are not suitable.

2) Clean the surface if required, it should be a sealed flat surface, clean from dust, oils or other contaminates.

3) Check that the graphic is centred properly and facing the correct direction (if applicable). Peel off a small strip of the release paper and stick it down to the surface.

4) Gently pull away the rest of the release paper, closely following this removal by pushing the floor graphic down, using a soft flat tool wipe from side to side to ensure no bubbles are trapped underneath the graphic.

Please note: We recommend that you test the suitability of this product before use and that a regular check is made on all floor graphics. Worn, torn or otherwise damaged floor graphics should be removed and replaced.*

*We cannot accept any responsibility for accidents to persons or damaged caused by the use of these products.

Floor Graphics

Our floor graphics will adhere to most smooth, clean flat surfaces and will provide a durable long lasting safety message. Each sign is backed with a high strength adhesive and has a hard wearing non-slip, non-abrasive lamination on the face.
