in the WASTE & RECYCLING INDUSTRY Lockout - Tagout - Tryout The programme is designed to prevent the accidental start of equipment when an employee may be in the danger zone of hazardous machinery. Each employee must be able to guarantee their own safety. Equipment they are working on or around should be tested and proven incapable of starting, running, and cycling once lockout has been applied.

Types Of Energy
Dangerous energy sources can take may forms, including: Electrical Energy Commonly found powering nearly all workplace equipment. Hydraulic Energy Found powering forklifts, cutting equipment and pumps. Mechanical Energy Can be found in all machinery with moving parts. Thermal Energy In ovens or freezers (hot or cold). Pneumatic Energy Commonly found powering machinery via compressed air or gas. Potential Energy Found in compressed springs or suspended weights Employers must highlight & evaluate the hazards of each piece of equipment to build an energy control plan.
