WELLINGTON WELL POSITIONED FOR ANY STORM!

One of Century 21 New Zealand’s best performing franchises has been Century 21 The Moshi Group based on Courtney Place in Central Wellington.

In recent years Wellington has enjoyed some solid residential property price growth and an incredibly competitive rental market.

Principal Alen Moshi says the capital city will of course be impacted in the coming months and years but is insulated more than others thanks to the government sector not going anywhere.

Situated near the country’s geographic centre, Wellington has been the home of the New Zealand Government, Parliament and much of the country’s civil service since 1865. As of last year, the Crown occupied 45% of the office buildings in the central city.

Despite being much smaller than Auckland, Wellington now also boasts the title of New Zealand's cultural capital and has been ranked one of the world's most liveable cities.

Famous for a vibrant creative culture fuelled by great food, wine, craft beer, coffee and events, Wellington today is truly cosmopolitan with genuine personality and artistic flare. The city is home to many high-profile events and cultural celebrations and plays host to many artistic and cultural organisations.

Based in Wellington Oscar-winning filmmakers Sir Peter Jackson and Sir Richard Taylor along with a growing team of creative professionals and businesses, have given rise to the moniker “Wellywood”. Jackson’s Weta Workshop is of course best known for delivering the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

“Modern-day Wellington is an exciting place, and in recent years the local property sector has seen some substantial growth. The city is now well placed to weather the economic fall-out from the Covid-19 pandemic, and we are still getting great results for our clients,” says Mr Moshi.

The Moshi Group featured prominently in Century 21’s first quarter awards for 2020, with Alen Moshi taking out Top Principal for the Quarter.
