Clean and rinse, regardless of the presence or absence of trees in your yard.

Foundation Slope

Check that you have positive slope all the way around your foundation (meaning that the ground is higher at the foundation, and lower at the end of your yard).

Foundation Membrane

Check your exterior foundation membrane for any signs of damage.

Window Wells

Clean any debris from window wells, and check to ensure proper drainage.

Foundation Cracks

Perform a visual check of your foundation’s exterior for any horizontal and vertical cracks larger than 1/2” wide. Monitor any existing cracks for changes in size.

Interior Walls

Check the interior walls for any dampness, water stains, and/or efflourecense (white powder).

Faucets

Run water from your exterior faucets and close. Once closed, check for any leaks.

Foundation Shift

Take note of any shifting in your foundation, or any new cracks in the drywall of your basement.

Sump System

Remove any debris and/or roots from your sump system. Test run with water for 3 cycles to ensure full drainage.
