ANDORRA, A SMALL BIG COUNTRY ANDORRA, UN PETIT GRAN PAÍS
The Principality of Andorra is a small European state in the heart of the Pyrenees, with a total surface of 468 km2, and having a population of 78.115 in 2011. The country’s capital city is Andorra la Vella. Catalan is the sole official language for administrative purposes. However, Spanish is commonly spoken, as are French and Portuguese, albeit to a much lesser extent. Andorra is an independent and sovereign state under the rule of law, member of the United Nations (country 184) and of the Council of Europe. The only country in the world with two heads of state, a special feature resulting from the mediaeval document known as Pareatges (signed in 1278) and the historical evolution of the country. This signature gave the Principality its territory and political form and we may say that Andorra is one of the most ancient parliamentary democracies in Europe with the oldest borders as they have never changed since then. Andorra’s Constitution text, approved in 1993, defines the country as a parliamentary co-principality. Although Andorra is not part of the European Union, it is part of the Euro zone, using the euro currency. The territory is structured into seven local administrative divisions known as parishes: Canillo, Encamp, Ordino, la Massana, Andorra la Vella, Sant Julià de Lòria and Escaldes-Engordany. They are represented and managed by the town halls (comuns). Andorra is a prosperous country mainly because of its tourism industry, which services an estimated 8.3 million visitors annually.

El Principat d’Andorra és un petit Estat d’Europa, situat al cor dels Pirineus. Compta amb una superfície de 468 km2, i alberga una població de 78.115 habitants (any 2011). La capital del país és Andorra la Vella i el català és la seva llengua oficial. No obstant això, l’espanyol es parla comunament, així com el francès i el portuguès, encara que en menor mesura. Andorra és un Estat independent, membre de les Nacions Unides i del Consell d’Europa. És l’únic país del món amb dos Caps d’Estat, una característica especial que resulta de la signatura del document medieval conegut com a Pareatges (signats al 1278 i al 1288) i que defineixen el país com un Coprincipat. De fet, Andorra és una de las democràcies parlamentaries més antigues d’Europa. La Constitució Andorrana es va aprovar l’any 1993 i defineix el país com un Coprincipat parlamentari. Encara que Andorra no forma part de la UE, utilitza l’Euro com a moneda de referència. El territori s’estructura en set divisions administratives locals conegudes com “parròquies” que estan representades i administrades pels ajuntaments (comuns): Canillo, Encamp, Ordino, la Massana, Andorra la Vella, Sant Julià de Lòria i Escaldes-Engordany. Andorra és un país pròsper, sobretot a causa de la indústria turística. S’estima que el país acull 8,3 milions de visitants a l’any.

This pre-Romanesque building houses a rectangular nave with a wooden framed ceiling and a quadrangular apse. The circular Lombard belfry was added in the 12th century and is one of the few examples of its kind in the Pyrenees. Edifici d’origen preromànic amb una nau de planta rectangular coberta de bastides de fusta i un absis quadrangular. Al segle XII s’afegeix un campanar llombard de planta circular, un dels pocs exemplars d’aquestes característiques als Pirineus.

We think “green” Another Andorra’s quality is the ever-present nature in its purest form, and its landscape characterized by the river that runs through it, the Valira. In addition, over 90% of Andorra’s landscape is made of green areas. In terms of air quality index, we enjoy a quality rating of good qualified and situated on 67 points, well above the nearby cities of Toulouse, 33, Madrid, 46, or Zurich, 42.

Visits to Romanesque monuments, one of the country’s main charms, will complement any tourist timetable. Andorra has a high mountain climate with Mediterranean influences. Temperatures are low in the winter and mild in the summer, with significant variations depending on altitude and orientation. Andorra has a high percentage of sunshine and a generally dry climate. The average annual minimum temperature is -2ºC and the average maximum is 24ºC.

L’orientació d’Andorra fa que compti amb més de 200 dies de sol i un clima generalment sec. La temperatura mitjana anual mínima és de -2 º C i el promig de la màxima és de 24 º C. Les visites als monuments romànics és un dels principals atractius del país i s’inclouen en qualsevol de les propostes turístiques.

REQUISITS GENERALS General requirements
Invertir de forma permanent i efectiva una quantitat mínima de 400.000 € en algun o diversos tipus d’actius. Dipositar a l’INAF* una quantitat de 50.000 € + 10.000 € per cada persona a càrrec, no remunerables però sí deduïbles dels 400.000 €. A permanent and effective investment of the sum of at least 400.000 € in one or several of a listed types of assets is required. It is also required to deposit with the INAF* the non-interest and nonrefundable sum of 50.000 € + 10.000 € for each dependant. These sums can be deducted from the above-mentioned 400.000 €.

REQUISITS GENERALS General requirements
Autorització prèvia del Govern sempre i quan es superi el 10% de participació del capital social. Entitats de crèdit o financeres estrangeres que vulguin fer una inversió directa, requereix informe preceptiu de l’Institut Andorrà de Finances (INAF). Prior authorization from government is needed if the purchaser has a shareholding of more than 10%. Direct investements from foreign credit or finance entities require a prescriptive report from the Andorran National Finance Institute (INAF).
Són lliures i no estan subjectes ni al deure de sol·licitud d’autorització prèvia ni a les obligacions de formalització i declaració. Sí que es requereix autorització prèvia per subscriure participacions en un organisme d’inversió col·lectiva. These are unrestricted and not subject to either the requirement to apply for prior authorization or the requirements to formalise or declare them. Prior authorization is required to subscribe shares in a collective investment scheme.
