The Region
The Colorado River flows from the Rocky Mountains through to the Lower Colorado River Valley in the Southwestern United States and empties into the Gulf of California. The River provides the border between the states of Nevada, Arizona and California. The towns all along the river provide an abundance of outdoor activities – boating, fishing, hiking, golf, cycling, off-road adventures and exploring. In Laughlin you’ll find entertainment, gaming and nightlife. The area boasts over 300 days of sunshine. It’s hot in the summertime and can be cold in the winter. The nights provide an awesome view of the stars.

Many people refer to Topock Gorge as a miniature Grand Canyon with its colorful, steep rocky walls and abundant wildlife. Topock Gorge is a little over four miles long. The Gorge is part of the designated Havasu National Wildlife Refuge and a favorite place for boaters, kayakers and canoeists to enjoy the splendor of birds, big-horn sheep and wild burros. Sandy beaches are in abundance along the shores of the Gorge, and with the heart of Topock Gorge being a no-wake zone, it’s easy to pull up and enjoy the day without the worry of large wakes breaking on the shoreline. There are many jump rocks along the Gorge, both on the Arizona and California sides of the shorelines.

The London Bridge
Lake Havasu City founder, Robert P. McCulloch, bought the Bridge in 1968 from the City of London for $2.46M. Each block was meticulously numbered before the bridge was disassembled. The blocks were then shipped through the Panama Canal to California and trucked from Long Beach to Arizona. Following reconstruction of the London Bridge, Lake Havasu City rededicated it in a ceremony on October 10, 1971. It’s a great place for a stroll over sparkling Bridgewater Channel. The Visitor Center conducts a 90-minute walking tour of the Bridge. 928-855-5655 • GoLakeHavasu.com
