EDITORIAL Cevisama 2014 is about to begin and data invite us to be optimistic. And it is that companies have bet another year on Cevisama as an inevitable annual event, as an international business platform and a catwalk of trends and, in fact, the exhibition is going to get a new record in terms of presentation of news this year. Let us count on the most representative companies in the ceramic sector and we will have a remarkable growth in sectors such as bathroom equipment, which is gaining weight and helping to increase the overall supply at each call of Cevisama. This edition will also have the supply of machinery, which adds to Cevisama every couple of years, and has surprised us with a significant level of participation. Moreover, the number of foreign exhibitors grows significantly, with a strong presence of the Italian industry. If to this we add the complementary offer which will involve the coincidence of dates with the Feria Habitat Valencia, Fimma and Maderalia exhibitions, we have a very attractive international trade show that will certainly convert Valencia from the 11th to the 14th of February in to a world capital of architecture, interior design and decoration. We believe that this coincidence of events can bring to Cevisama a greater number of visitors, especially national professionals and prescribers related to the contract channel - interior designers and architects. In this way, we hope to surpass more than 60,000 professional buyers who visited in the previous edition. Cevisama 2014 aims to continue winning internationality also on the demand side. We hope to reach 12,300 international visitors that we had in 2013 and the second-highest total in history. Visitors will find not only the highest number of proposals for architecture and interior design at Feria Valencia, but also a multitude of parallel activities, both at the fairgrounds and in the city. CEVISAMANEWS Cevisama wins Internationality Cevisama faces a new edition with good prospects. The event retells the trusted manufacturers and reinforced another year as the reference site for the sectors that comprise it. Therefore, from the 11th to the 14th of February at Feria Valencia Cevisama will meet the latest proposals of ceramic tiles, natural stone, kitchen and bathroom fittings, frits, glazes and ceramic colours, tiles and bricks, materials in this issue, as every other year, also joined by the supply of machinery. The offer will be marked by the quality, design and innovation. And as a characteristic of this year, by an improvement also from the point of view of internationality. In fact, this year the number of foreign direct exhibitors experienced a remarkable growth, exceeding 30%. And among them is the presence of the Italian industry, whose companies attract international visitors from growth markets that are faithful to Cevisama-buyers from North Africa, the Russian market, the Middle East or even South East Asia. The forecast of the organization, in the absence of the final balance, is to involve companies from nearly 40 countries. The representation of the Spanish ceramic sector will be very similar to the last edition, with the presence of all the most representative companies and trendsetters. And the fastest growing industry over previous editions is that of bathroom equipment, whose participation has far exceeded expectations.

CEVISAMANEWS Novelties record Cevisama will reflect the great effort made by companies for quality and innovation despite the tough economic climate of recent years. In this edition, probably more than ever, Cevisama becomes a gateway for new products and a trends engine. All indications are that the presentation of new products during this call will set a new record. CEVISAMANEWS Foreign sales continue to grow The Spanish industry continues being overturned in the foreign market The Spanish ceramic sector dismisses 2013 as the first European producer, surpassing the Italian industry for the first time. Companies are still very focused on the international market, due to weak domestic demand. During the first eleven months of 2013 latest data released by ICEX, Spain exported ceramic tiles worth over 2,000 million Euros, an increase of 7.3% over the same period last year. France was the main destination of exports between January and November, despite suffering a decline of 3.3%. The second destination was Saudi Arabia, with sales of 163 million, up 7.5%, followed by Russia with 151 million and an increase of 5.3%. In the balance provided by ICEX is the increase of Libya, which bought the Spanish industry worth 84.6 billion between January and November last year, representing a growth of 114%. The sector of frits and glazes, the sources said, exported worth 748 million Euros in the same period, an increase of 7.2%. Meanwhile in bathroom equipment exports they totaled 324 million Euros, a drop of 6% - and sales to outside of the Spanish of natural stone remained at 310 million Euros.

During the 4 days of the exhibition, the latest proposals that companies belonging to a Tile of Spain have developed for their potential markets will be presented. The offer is more varied than ever when you consider that our products are sold in 180 countries around the world, countless styles, finishes, and formats, etc. that we can see at the show which is unlimited, making the event a great showcase. The sector has managed to stabilize the last year although margins are increasingly tight because we operate in a highly competitive global environment and with increasingly greater problems and burdens. It also has reached another important milestone, and we are the first European producer by volume surpassing Italy, our traditional competitor. The good performance of exports is positive news if you consider that overseas sales now account for nearly 80% of total sales of our companies, but the domestic market remains stagnant and there are no signs of improvement. Until national sales begin to recover we cannot not speak about the end of this negative cycle.
Despite this data, there is a large sector uncertainty due to the uncertainty of the energy reform and how it will affect the industry and in particular cogeneration. Latest on energy measures from the government punish a highly energy-efficient industry, and as has been a very competitive patent and exporter, so it is necessary to articulate the right to not harm this vital industry for the economy of Valencia and Spain. The likely impact of the announced measures is unaffordable in the current situation of the sector, and may plunge the industry a huge waste of insurmountable competition from other producing countries. Global ceramic consumption continues to grow, as does production and competition. Tile of Spain companies live a constant renewal, directing its sales abroad, adjusting its costs and its structure, to achieve being sustainable over time and to remain competitive. CEVISAMANEWS New attractions for visitors The exhibition expected to attract more domestic and international buyers Attracting quality visitors, both national and international, is one of the objectives of Cevisama. And this year it looks like it can overcome even the great figures of the previous edition, when over 60,000 buyers visited the exhibition with more than 12,000 were foreign professionals from 139 countries. And this year the professionals have all the more attractions to go to the event.
