Does it Really Matter? Does
My
Vote
Really
Matter?
Yes! Consider the following examples: In 1801, one vote in the U.S. House broke the tie between Thomas Jefferson and Aaron Burr. In 1839, one vote made “Landslide Marcus Morton governor of Massachusetts. In 1868, one vote saved President Andrew Johnson from being removed from office. In 1876, one vote in the Electoral College gave Rutherford B. Hayes the presidency. In 1941, one vote extended the Draft just four months before the attack on Pearl Harbor. In 2000, our nation had one of the most closely contested presidential elections in American history, and some people are still arguing about who won! The point is this ............................ To Know the Heart of the Pilot hree passengers share a row of seats in an airplane. As the plane is taxiing for takeoff, their conversation turns to the topic of the airplane pilot.
T
Stunningly, passenger “A” doesn’t believe one exists. “No one flies the plane. We are guided by a computer system in the terminal. This plane is an occupied drone. Why should I believe otherwise? The cockpit door is closed. Who can know? There is no pilot.” Passenger “B” disagrees. “Oh, there is a p i l o t . Someone sits at the controls of the plane. But, once we take off, he takes a nap. He gets the plane in the air and then goes to sleep.” The third passenger is shocked by what she hears. “You don’t know what you are talking about. First, there is a pilot. Second, the pilot is alert, competent and kind. I know; he is my husband. He is seasoned and sensitive and has every intention of a successful flight. We are in good hands.” Three passengers. Three opinions. A
plane with no pilot. A plane with a disengaged pilot. A plane with a seasoned and concerned pilot. Fast forward a few minutes. Turbulence shakes the plane like popcorn in a paper bag. Will the three passengers experience the flight in the same way? Of the three travelers, which is most prone to stay calm? Nothing is more important than the right view of God. Nothing. I’ve seen the wealthy and highly educated crumple like cowards at the face of death. I’ve seen the simple and humble take their final breath with a smile and a song. The difference? They knew the Pilot. You need to know the heart of the pilot. That is why the story of Jesus is in the Bible. He is the only picture of God ever taken. To know Jesus, is to know God. To know God is to know: this flight gets bumpy, but the Pilot? He knows how to get us home. Listen to UpWords with Max Lucado at:

Should US Stop Sending Taxpayer Dollars to Egypt, Lybia? by JENNIFER LECLAIRE rotesters carry an injured man who was hurt during clashes along a road leading to the U.S. embassy, near Tahrir Square in Cairo Sept. 14, 2012. Egyptian protesters, angry at a film they say insults their prophet Mohammed, hurled stones on Friday at a line of police in Cairo blocking their way to the U.S. embassy, which was attacked earlier this week. (Reuters/Amr Dalsh) The Obama administration should stop sending U.S. taxpayer dollars to Middle Eastern countries that permit and support terrorism by Islamic extremists bent on destroying America.

That's the sentiment from more than 5,500 Americans who contacted the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) in less than 24 hours. Recent bombings in Libya and Egypt have killed four American workers, including U.S. Ambassador to Libya J. Chris Stevens. The bombings came in retaliation for the anti-Islamic film Innocence of Muslims, a 14-minute video created by an IsraeliAmerican filmmaker that allegedly blasphemes Prophet Muhammad.

(417) 831-6721 While four deaths occurred at the Libyan embassy on Tuesday, no casualties were reported following the attack on the U.S. embassy in Egypt. Protesters did, however, tear down the embassy's American flag. U.S. officials speculate that the attacks were carried out by the militant Islamic group Ansar al Sharia and an African-based faction of al-Qaida, and that they were planned in conjunction with the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. Obama’s Anti-Religious Implosion In an effort to protect U.S. taxpayer dollars, the ACLJ is calling on the Obama Administration to ends it foreign policy of "appeasement and apologies." "The anti-American violence at the direction of Islamic extremists is not only very troubling, but amplifies what can only be described as a failed foreign policy by the Obama administration," said Jay Sekulow, chief counsel of the ACLJ. "At a time when President Obama refuses to meet face-to-face with the prime minister of Israel, our most important ally in the region, the Obama administration continues to send billions of taxpayer dollars to countries that permit and support the terrorism of radical Islamists bent on destroying America. It’s time to bring an end to a foreign policy of appeasement and apologies. We're calling on the Obama administration to cut off funding to Libya and Egypt until stable

governments—which support America— are put in place." Meanwhile, Christian Freedom International (CFI), whose humanitarian presence extends into Muslim-majority countries such as Pakistan and Bangladesh, is warning the persecution already experienced by thousands of Middle Eastern Christians as a result of the Arab Spring revolution will continue to intensify in the wake of the attacks in Libya and Egypt. Other organizations, such as Open Doors USA and the World Evangelical Alliance, have issued similar statements voicing concern for the safety of Christians in the region and the potential for more violent conflict due to the tendency by Muslim fundamentalists to link the United States with Christianity. "CFI mourns the death of Chris Stevens and the three other American employees who risked their lives to serve our country abroad," says CFI president Jim Jacobson. "We must pray for the families who have lost loved ones in these attacks and for all the Christians in these and other countries who suffer persecution. There is most certainly a growing threat to minority Christians in this region."

Shake Yourself Loose From Condemnation by FRANCIS FRANGIPANE he burdens we carry may have nothing to do with moral failure. They might have come from any number of life's calamities.
T
One of the worst ordeals for the soul is the death of a loved one. Such a loss can leave us excessively burdened and trapped in the past. The story of Abraham's father, Terah, gives us an insightful picture of a man who could not depart from the loss of a loved one. Terah had three sons: Abram, Nahor and Haran. The Bible tells us, “Haran died in the presence of his father” (Gen. 11:28, NASB). To lose your son can produce terrible heartache; to have him die in your arms can be utterly devastating. In time, Terah took his family and left Ur of the Chaldeans in search of a new destiny in Canaan. En route, however, Terah had to pass through a city with the same name as his deceased son, Haran. Instead of continuing on to Canaan, the Scripture says Terah “went as far as Haran, and settled there” (v. 31). Longing for a deceased loved one is normal. However, life's tragedies also have a way of obligating us to a false loyalty that prohibits the release of our pain. Without notice, a face in an airport or a song on
www.OzarksChristianNews.com the radio floods our hearts, and suddenly we are overcome by sorrow. How quickly we reenter the place of our grief; how easy it is to settle there! “And Terah died in Haran” (v. 32). Not only did Terah settle in Haran, but he also died there. The wording is both prophetic and significant. Perhaps it was a false sense of guilt that held him hostage: If only I had done such and such my son would not have died!Whatever the reason, Terah was never able to live beyond Haran's death. We must also see that, as painful as the loss of a loved one is, we cannot permit the wounds of our past to nullify what God has for us in our future. Even if we enter limping, we must not settle for something outside our destiny. God's grace is here now. With His help, we must choose to journey on to Canaan or we too will die in Haran.
A Time For Healing These two things, personal failure and personal tragedy, can place cruel burdens of oppression and guilt upon our souls. God's response to our need is that, in addition to forgiving our sins, He has laid on Christ “the guilt of us all” (Isaiah 53:6 NAB). Whether our guilt is justified or not, it must be lifted from our shoulders and placed on Christ. Today a renewal is occurring in various parts of the world; God is restoring joy to His people. Many whom the Lord
Page 7
has touched were weighed down—just like you might be—with either moral failure or tragedy. In the very place where our deferred hopes produced heart sickness, Christ is here “to bind up the brokenhearted” (Isaiah 61:1. NASB). Where once sorrow and heaviness reigned, He gives a “garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting” (v. 3). No longer will church attendance be a penance for your failures. From now on you shall enter His gates with thanksgiving. Indeed, to every Christian struggling with an unbearable burden, the Lord says, You are still My bride.” Indeed, speaking of this very valley of troubling, the Lord has promised: “I will allure her, bring her into the wilderness and speak kindly to her. Then I will give her her vineyards from there, and the valley of Achor as a door of hope. And she will sing there as in the days of her youth” (Hosea 2:14-15). The fruitfulness of God's blessing from this day forward shall increase in your life. And there in “the valley of Achor”—the scene of your deepest wounds or worst failures—the Lord has placed for you a “door of hope.” His goal is nothing less than to restore to you the song of the Lord, that you might sing again “as in the days of [your] youth.” The preceding message is adapted from a chapter in Francis Frangipane's book, The Days of His Presence.

While the new birth is indeed an instantaneous experience, salvation is not. We aren’t just “saved” in an emotional moment at a church altar; we are “being saved” on a daily basis. Like Lazarus, who emerged from his tomb wrapped in grave clothes, we can experience the miracle of salvation and yet remain bound. Jesus told those standing near Lazarus, “Unbind him, and let him go” (John 11:44, NASB). We too need someone to unwrap us. I minister to countless Christians who struggle with various forms of brokenness. Some are addicted to behaviors or substances; others are emotionally crippled because of their upbringing; still others are haunted by childhood trauma. Often our advice to them is as insensitive as it is unrealistic. We say: “Get over it. If you’re a Christian, you can’t struggle with those things.” That’s crazy! Christians stumble. While I would love instantaneous change, the Bible speaks of both regeneration (which
You may be one of those who mourns in Zion. You may be a Christian—and yet you may be dragging a ball and chain behind you. Many believers who struggle with secret sin or emotional baggage stuff their problems under the proverbial rug and pretend to be free. But their masquerade usually does not end well. If you are still a captive, please don’t hide in the shadows. Identify your sin and then recognize that Jesus has provided the grace to overcome anything that binds you. I challenge people to take this quick inventory of sinful practices: The Danger of Abusing the Grace of God 1. Unforgiveness. Are you nursing a grudge? You’ll never know the true forgiveness of Jesus if you hold resentment in your heart toward others. Bitterness is like acid. It will corrode your soul until you forgive those who hurt you. continued on page 9
October 2012 continued from page 8 2. Fear and anxiety. Everyone has natural fears. It’s normal to stay away from snakes or spiders, for example. But other fears are unnatural. Many people have been traumatized by past experiences such as sexual abuse, bullying, poverty, family breakup, rape, accidents or war. The Holy Spirit can bring supernatural peace to your troubled mind and deliver you from the shackles of posttraumatic stress. 3. Sexual immorality. A large percentage of Americans today have engaged in sex outside marriage. And while society says this is totally acceptable, the psychological damage caused by fornication, abortion, homosexuality, adultery and pornography is real. The chains of sexual sin are strong, but Jesus can shatter them when we confess our sins and choose purity.
www.OzarksChristianNews.com holds us captive to other sins we won’t admit to anyone. God wants to liberate you, but freedom requires brutal honesty and a willingness to talk to someone about your brokenness. You may need to join a Christian recovery group, find an accountability partner or connect with a Christian ministry that specializes in inner healing and deliverance. Today God is calling His army to assemble. But we cannot march in step with Him if we are dragging 200 pounds of chains behind us. It’s time to break free. J. Lee Grady is the former editor of Charisma and the director of The Mordecai Project. You can follow him on Twitter at leegrady. His most recent book is Fearless Daughters of the Bible.
4. Occult involvement. Participation in any form of witchcraft (séances, fortune telling, idol worship or satanic covenants) will open the doors of our spirits to demonic influence. These formidable chains can only be broken by the power of Jesus. 5. Depression and grief. Many Christians are gripped by a powerful spirit of heaviness that is linked to rejection or disappointment. Depression can lead to self-hatred, eating disorders and even suicide. Yet Jesus offers abundant life and a sustainable joy. 6. Addiction. You may have fallen into the trap of using alcohol, nicotine, illegal drugs or prescription medicines to numb your emotional pain. Yet the Holy Spirit can go to the root of your brokenness and heal your soul. 7. Dishonesty and pride. This is often the reason many Christians remain captives. We want to cover up our problems rather than bring them into the light. Remember: Healing requires full disclosure. First John 1:8 says: “If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” It is often hypocritical pride that

lies they would save almost $20,000.00 per student per grade per year. Do that math!
by John Sacoulas, editor-OCN Here is my list of things I would do. And yes, it would balance the deficit and turn the country around.
• Remove restrictions on all energy explorations immediately and fast track multiple oil refinery construction as we continue to develop Hydrogen Fuel Cell technology.
• Change the word “Government” to “My Neighbors”. When people start realizing all services are paid for by their neighbors it will make it a whole lot more personal when using “My Neighbor’s Services.”
• Abolish the Post Office. They are pushing a $10 Billion dollar deficit this year so your 45 cent stamp actually costs you and your neighbors about a buck and a half to mail a first class letter! FedEx, & UPS have proven they can handle daily demands of correspondence and packages. PASTORS NOT OK WITH POLITICAL ENDORSEMENTS FROM PULPIT by Charlie Butts (OneNewsNow.com) After inquiring about pastors' views on the upcoming election, LifeWay Research has learned, among other things, that ministers don't think it's right to endorse political candidates from the pulpit. LifeWay Research surveyed roughly 1,000 Protestant pastors on various aspects, and director Scott McConnell says his group learned that three-fourths of pastors disagree that the election cycle has been too religious and do not see the election as a referendum on religion. "We asked them whether pastors should endorse candidates for public office from the pulpit, and almost nine out of ten pastors disagreed; and in fact, 71 percent strongly disagreed that pastors should be doing that," McConnell reports. "Pastors clearly respect the sacred desk of the pulpit enough to discourage its use to affect elections." McConnell adds that pastors clearly have their personal views on who the best candidates are, but they choose not to make endorsements from the pulpit.

HEALTH The Dark Side of the Routine Newborn Vitamin K Shot By Dr. Joseph Mercola
It
has been standard practice in the U.S., and most western countries, since 1944 to welcome babies into the world by subjecting them to a variety of medical interventions, one of which is a painful jab with a syringe full of vitamin K. This injection is routinely done to almost all newborns, unless you, as a parent, refuse to consent. Birth is an overwhelming sensory experience for your baby. He has never before experienced cold or hunger, been blinded by artificial lights, or felt the touch of hands or metal instruments, paper or cloth. Even gravity is a foreign sensation. A needle stick is a terrible assault to their suddenly overloaded sensory system, which is trying to adjust to the outside world. Is this injection really in your baby’s best interest? Is vitamin K really necessary immediately after birth? Or is there a more compassionate alternative? Vitamin K Shots are Completely Unnecessary for Your Newborn! I recently had the pleasure of interviewing the foremost expert in the world on vitamin K, Dr. Cees Vermeer, PhD, Associate Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Maastricht (in The Netherlands), I am thrilled to be able to share with you some of the latest information about vitamin K that he shared with me. The great news: Vitamin K shots are completely unnecessary for your newborn. While this painful injection is inappropriate for reasons I will cover in detail, vitamin K is necessary. But there are other safer and non invasive ways
www.OzarksChristianNews.com to normalize your baby’s vitamin K levels that don’t have such damaging effects. Why is this Shot Given in the First Place? Vitamin K is necessary for normal blood clotting in adults and children. Some babies (in fact, most of them) are born with insufficient vitamin K levels. In some newborns, this deficiency can lead to a serious bleeding disorder, typically in the first week of life, called Hemorrhagic Disease of the Newborn (HDN). Internal bleeding occurs in the brain and other organs, leading to serious injury or even death. While this disease is rare (incidence of 0.25 percent to 1.7 percent[i] ),it is has been standard practice to give injections of vitamin K as a preventative measure, whether or not risk factors are present. Your newborn can be at increased risk for Hemorrhagic Disease of the Newborn if he or she has any of the following: • Preterm delivery • Low birth weight •Forceps or vacuum extraction delivery • Mother’s use of antibiotics, anticoagulants, anticonvulsants, and some other medications during pregnancy • Undetected liver disease • An extremely fast, or extremely prolonged labor, particularly during the pushing phase • Delivery by C-section Unfortunately, the current standard of care regarding Hemorrhagic Disease of the Newborn and vitamin K was put into practice without adequate research to determine what was best for the newborns. These shotgun approaches were certainly convenient for the physicians but lacked any sort of consideration of side effects for the baby. Increased rates of circumcision immediately after birth, before infants can develop their vitamin K levels naturally, has undoubtedly contributed to making vitamin K injections routine, to lower the risk for
increased bleeding from these early circumcisions. As pointed out by one of my on-line readers, it is interesting to note that a newborn’s natural prothrombin levels reach normal levels between days 5 and 7, peaking around the eighth day of life, related to the buildup of bacteria in the baby’s digestive tract to produce the vitamin K that is necessary to form this clotting factor. Day 8 is said to be the only time in a baby’s life when his prothrombin level will naturally exceed 100 percent of normal. As it turns out, Genesis 17:12 of the Bible mandates the circumcision of infant boys on the eighth day after birth—a recommendation pronounced long before we had the science to back it up. I will leave any conclusions to you about the significance of this anecdote, but it is nevertheless interesting. The Dangers of the Shot They Don’t Warn You About There are three primary areas of risk associated with these injections: Probably the most significant is Inflicting pain immediately after birth likely causing psycho-emotional damage and trauma to a newborn, which is totally inappropriate, and unnecessary. It just creates another emotional wound that the helpless and innocent baby needs to overcome to achieve health and wellness. It is bad enough they will have to overcome unintentional traumas along the way but to mandate this practice is the 21st century is simply unconscionable . The amount of vitamin K injected into newborns is 20,000 times the needed dose. Additionally, the injection may also contain preservatives that can be toxic for your baby’s delicate, young immune system. An injection creates an additional opportunity for infection in an environment that contains some of the most dangerous germs, at a time when your baby’s immune system is still immature. It is, however, also important to correct the record about one myth that has been propagated for years about the dangers of vitamin K injections in newborns. It was suggested some years ago that vitamin K injections were associated with cancer and leukemia. However, that conclusion was in error. There is NO known association between the two.
Page 11 As mentioned above, these injections are absolutely inappropriate for your baby - but the increased risk for cancer is not a legitimate concern. Although premature clamping of the umbilical should be avoided as it can result in brain damage, there is insufficient evidence to say that this can lead to lower vitamin K levels in newborns, although you will occasionally see this claim made. In addition to the above, the possible trauma from the injection can also jeopardize the establishment of breastfeeding, which is detrimental to both mother and baby. ORAL Vitamin K is a Safe, Effective Alternative Fortunately, the alternative to these outrageously unnecessary newborn injections is amazingly simple: give the vitamin ORALLY. It is safe and equally effective, and devoid of any of the previously mentioned troubling side effects. But remember you HAVE to be proactive. Typically the nursing staff will NEVER ask for your permission to give this vaccine or vitamin K shot as it is STANDARD practice so they don’t need your permission. So you have to be VERY diligent in your request. Please remember, YOU will have to exercise extreme diligence in making your wishes known. The system will fight you tooth and nail as they sincerely believe they know better than you. It is so worth it though to take the extra steps to protect your newborn. I would strongly encourage you to make the additional effort. Dr. Joseph Mercola is a widely acclaimed physician and multiple New York Times Bestselling Author. In 1997, he established his website, Mercola.com, to provide people with practical advice on health and wellness. This article can be seen in its entirety at his website.

rejoicing over God's gift of the law (Torah) to the Jewish people.
The Bible (Lev. 23:33-43) pictured Sukkot (Festival of Booths or Tabernacles) as an eightday period of rejoicing. Although it occurs at harvest time, the festival virtually ignores the harvest theme as it commemorates God's faithfulness to Israel through the wilderness wanderings after they left Egypt.
Messianic significance also abounds in the celebration as traditionally observed since Temple days. Psalm 118:22-23 stands out: "The stone which the builders refused has become the head stone of the corner". This beautifully pictured the time when Yeshua will reign as Messiah, the king over the earth. The waving of the lulav will be directed toward Him in that day. As we celebrate Succot each year, we can anticipate that time when the booths will no longer picture our present "sojourn under God's wings". Then they will remind us of the past, before the reign of Yeshua HaMashiach the King. In the meantime the booths remind us to depend on God and not on material goods (Mt. 6:25-33).. For more information see banner above or call 417-334-7373.
The seventh day of the celebration, Hoshana Rabba, gets its name from the prayers said on that day. Those prayers begin with the Hebrew "hoshana" (save now) and include some special Messianic prayers. In tune with the spirit of joy, the participants recite Hallel Psalms (113-118) during the week's celebration. It all culminates on the ninth day with Simchat Torah, the day of

Voting with morals in mind could pay off in the long run. It would be good maybe if we could regularly point out as a basis for comparisons among political platforms that: The Democratic party platform contains
entitlements that include robbing Social Security of funds by killing or preventing the birth of potential contributors; welfare handouts without providing America's underserved a work ethic and the dignity of contributing to the society which serves them; casual sex with harmful chemical and surgeries as solutions to consequences; penalties to companies who promote Bible values; and an unequal distribution of taxation. All result in punishing people for considering moral consequences while rewarding harmful behaviors and robbing America's coffers. The Republican party platform, as well as other political platforms such as the New Independent Christian Party, support life with dignity from conception until natural death, natural marriage and healthy families allowing human beings

Sukkot
Traditional observance has maintained the spirit of great rejoicing during Sukkot. As in biblical times, meals are to be eaten in booths as a "picture of man's sojourn under God's wings," and also as a reminder of freedom from Egypt (Lev. 23:43). Participants carry the lulav branches and the etrog (a lemon like fruit) in a procession through the synagogue and wave the branches in six directions.

ILLEGALS GIVEN LEGAL PERMISSION TO DRIVE IN CALIFORNIA by Becky Yeh - California correspondent (OneNewsNow.com) A California activist says a new law that gives young illegal immigrants a license to drive sets a "horrible precedent" for The Golden State and the rest of the nation. If they qualify for a federal work permit program, roughly 400,000 illegal immigrants under 30 years of age will be able to drive legally, thanks to a new law signed by Gov. Jerry Brown (D). The governor signed the measure over the weekend as the deadline approached for him to act on bills sent to him by the state legislature. Jeff Schwilk of the Southern California Patriot Coalition explains that under President Barack Obama's "Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals" program, illegal aliens who meet certain criteria can legally work in the United States (see earlier story). "They are illegal aliens. Obama's backdoor amnesty is not legal," Schwilk asserts. "They are still here unlawfully; they have no right or privilege to be given driver's licenses. So this sets a hor-
www.OzarksChristianNews.com rible precedent for … the state for future bills and for other states." Gov. Brown claims granting driver's licenses to qualified illegal immigrants is the next step the federal government should take to ensure "comprehensive immigration reform."
Judge declines to block Missouri disturbing worship law ST. LOUIS (AP) -- A federal judge has refused to issue a preliminary injunction against a Missouri law making it a crime to disturb worship services. The law makes it a misdemeanor to intentionally disturb or interrupt a “house of worship” with profane language, rude or indecent behavior or noise. It carries a penalty of up to six months in jail and a $500 fine. Attorneys for the American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit on behalf of two individuals and two groups that picket outside churches. They contend the law is vague and infringes upon free speech rights. Senior U.S. District Judge E. Richard Webber last week denied the request for preliminary injunction. Critics of the law said Tuesday they will move forward with the case. A full hearing is not yet scheduled.

Page 16 NOTHING’S CHANGED AT CHICK-FIL-A; STILL DIGNITY, RESPECT FOR ALL by Charlie Butts (OneNewsNow.com) An accusation that Chick-fil-A's charitable foundation has stopped making donations to pro-family groups isn't true. The false report surfaced when Chicago Alderman Joe Moreno, who vowed this summer to block construction of a new Chick-fil-A in his district because of pro-family comments by the company's president, said recently that company officials had agreed not to donate to organizations that fight against homosexual "marriage." Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality discounts that report. (Listen to audio report) "If Chick-fil-A actually was negotiating with this left-wing alderman in Chicago [Moreno] to try to get a restaurant there -- and [if] it was actually making pledges about giving, that would be wrong," he tells OneNewsnow. "Because that would be the moral equivalent of negotiating with terrorists -and we all know you don't negotiate with terrorists." The truth is, straight from Chick-fil-A, their foundation -- WinShape -- has not changed its policies on donations and does not support organizations with political agendas. The Georgia-based restaurant stands by the statement it released in July,
www.OzarksChristianNews.com which states the culture and service tradition of the company "is to treat every person with honor, dignity, and respect - regardless of their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender." LaBarbera says the rash of publicity sparked by Moreno's recent comments, combined with a press release from the pro-homosexual activist group Civil Rights Agenda, has all the earmarks of a setup to turn people against Chick-fil-A. He also points out that "we all know that there are untold numbers of pro-homosexual corporations, like Starbucks and Pepsico, that are giving millions and millions of dollars to homosexual activist groups." In contrast, however, the pro-family activist notes that when Chick-fil-A -- a Christian-run business -writes a check to Christian-based groups that, in comparison, amounts to pennies, homosexuals want to turn the public against businesses operated by people of faith that do so. LATEST UPDATE ... Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee -- an ardent supporter of Chick-fil-A and initiator of "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day" on August 1 -reported company CEO Dan Cathy gave him the following statement during a personal conversation: "There continues to be erroneous implications in the media that Chick-fil-A changed our practices and priorities in order to obtain permission for a new restaurant in Chicago. That is incorrect. Chickfil-A made no such concessions, and we remain true to who we are and who we have been."

Free Abortion Clinics Coming to a High School Near You? by JENNIFER LECLAIRE Charismanews.com
After
news of free abortions in Orlando, Fla., last month, now pro-lifers are greeted with a new affront: School officials in New York City are making the morning-after pill available to teens at 13 public schools. That’s right, girls as young as 14 can not only go behind Mommy’s back to have sex—and even unprotected sex—they can also get the Plan B pill without Daddy ever knowing about it (and without cutting into their allowance). In case you aren’t familiar with emergency contraceptives, Plan B is the leading brand and is widely marketed as a “back-up plan that helps prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex or birth control failure …” A prescription is required for girls under 17. But New York City high schools are circumventing the need for Mommy to take little Jill to a gynecologist for a prescription. If Jill goes to one of these 13 New York public high schools, she can get a prescription for Plan B from Health Department doctors without ever warning Mom that her hormones are about to start doing cartwheels and backflips when the emergency contraceptive does its trick. Girls who take Plan B may experience nausea, lower abdominal pain, fatigue,
www.OzarksChristianNews.com headache, dizziness and other unwanted side effects. New York City schools already distribute free condoms. Why the need to distribute free prescription drugs that some medical experts say may induce abortions? Plan B-makers say, “There is no medical evidence that Plan B One-Step would harm a developing baby.” But Dr. Donna Harrison, director of research for the American
Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists, calls the morning after pill “the moral equivalent of homicide.” And Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum have characterized emergency contraceptives like Plan B as abortive pills. Keep in mind that pharmaceutical manufacturers say, "The sooner you take the morning-after pill, the better it works." Does that mean we may soon see high schools hand out the morningafter pill to teen girls so they can carry it around in their purses, just in case? Why not hand out birth control pills instead? Or better yet, how about a heavier emphasis on teaching abstinence until marriage in the school system? First, it was free condoms; now it’s free Plan B. What’s next? With New York City reporting that about 7,000 girls get pregnant by the time they hit 17—and that more than half choose to get an abortion—could we soon see makeshift abortion clinics rise up
behind the high school football field where 14-year-olds can have free, state-funded abortions? Will abortions be like field trips, except without the need to have Mommy sign a permission form? God forbid! Parents have been notified of the New York City Plan B school program and can opt out, which would mean Jill can’t get the morning-after pill without Mom or Dad’s permission. But as the mother of a high school daughter, I can testify that it’s all too easy for kids to forge Mom’s signature or just not tell Dad about a new program at school. (or have a friend that is allowed access to them from the school -ed) And many parents really don't care what their kids do, as long as they don't have to clean up the mess. Parents, please, teach your kids what the Bible says about sex before marriage. Teach them about purity. Get them in a strong youth group. Keep your eyes wide open, your spiritual ears attuned and your mouth engaged in prayer for today’s youth, many of whom may never step foot inside a church to hear the message of purity.

Christians Should Vote for Romney By J. Matt Barber t's no secret that I have been and remain a vocal critic of Mitt Romney. To say that his conservative bona fides are suspect is an understatement. I have tremendous respect for a number of fellow evangelical Christians who say that they will not support his presidential candidacy. I expect I will anger some of them, and may even lose a few friends. Still, in November, I am voting for Mr. Romney and suggest that any Christian — Republican, Democrat or independent — should do the same.
I
Jesus admonished: "Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be

Court justices may be the single most significant thing any president can do. For better or for worse, it profoundly steers law, public policy and culture at large in perpetuity.
President Obama is a wolf. Though he purports to be Christian, his policies are decidedly un-Christian. This man eagerly advances a culture of death. He is the most radically pro-abortion president in American history. He has dutifully signed off on — and implemented at each opportunity — every extremist demand of the radical pro-abortion and homosexual activist lobbies.
This is our most crucial point of focus: ensuring an originalist, strict constructionist majority on the high court. If Mr. Obama is re-elected and appoints one, two or even three more Ruth Bader Ginsburgs, forget it. America, as our founders envisioned her, is dead. Though Mr. Romney's judicial appointment record while governor of Massachusetts was erratic at best, he has pledged during this election cycle, "I will appoint conservative, strict constructionists to the judiciary."
Mr. Obama has shown utter disregard — if not total disdain — for the U.S. Constitution. Not the least of his indefensible infringements is his recent Health and Human Services mandate requiring, under Flip-flop? Perhaps. tionalist radicals. Some might say I'm putting pragmatism over principle, but I disagree. In this case, the two are not mutually exclusive. Remember Christ's counsel: Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. My friend and colleague Cynthia Dunbar, a law professor at Liberty University School of Law, recently wrote: "In this election year, we find ourselves with only three realistic courses of action: 1) Don't vote; 2) vote for Obama; or 3) vote for Romney." It's simple: A Christian nonvote is a vote for Mr. Obama in that it fails to affirmatively cancel out an Obama vote. Furthermore, any Christian who votes for Mr. Obama will get to take that up with God. This leaves us with our third and final choice: Christians must vote for Mitt Romney. A second Obama term is simply unacceptable. We won't survive it. Matt Barber (@jmattbarber on Twitter) is an attorney concentrating in constitutional law. A Christian Voice for Barack Obama by Rev. Chuck CurrieUnited Church of Christ minister n 2007, I endorsed Barack Obama when he was 30 points behind in the polls because I believed he had the vision and moral character to move our nation forward. Despite inheriting a wrecked economy, President Obama has indeed moved our nation in the right direction -- by creating jobs and reforming our health care system -- in ways that advance the common

good. We need Barack Obama to continue the hard work of repairing our nation. As a minister, my politics are deeply influenced by my faith. Like many religious leaders, I opposed the war in Iraq and applaud President Obama for having the wisdom not only to also oppose that war from the start but for ending combat operations and working hard to provide for returning veterans. All Americans look forward to the safe return of our troops from Afghanistan sooner rather than later. As a husband and a father of two young daughters, I know President Obama is standing up for families. He has fought powerful financial interests to reform Wall Street, worked to help families refinance mortgages at lower rates, provided better opportunities for Americans to pay off student loans and expanded the Earned Income Tax Credit to keep more working American families from failing into poverty. The health care crisis is one that has defined our modern age. Presidents since before Harry Truman -- Republican and Democratic -- have worked to find solutions. Finally, we have real reform that will provide coverage to 30 million Americans that have not been able to afford it before -- many of them working Americans who have been forced to choose between paying their rent or for medicine. President Obama's Affordable Care Act has been supported by the National Council of Churches in Christ USA and many other Christian denominations and bodies, along with interfaith communities. Barack Obama and Joe Biden offer a vision for our nation that stands in stark contrast to what Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan hope to achieve. Gov. Romney has called for tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans and Rep. Ryan's budget proposal would pay for those tax breaks by ending "every-
www.Twitter.com/OCNEditor thing from veterans' programs to medical and scientific research, highways, education, (and) nearly all programs for lowincome families," according to the non-partisan Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.
cusp of a lifesaving discovery, or the company looking for skilled workers is going to do a little bit better, and we'll all do better as a consequence. It makes economic sense. But part of that belief comes from my faith in the idea that I am my brother's keeper and I am my sister's keeper; that as a country, we rise and fall together. I'm not an island. I'm not alone in my success. I succeed because others succeed with me.
But for me as a Christian, it also coincides with Jesus's teaching that "for unto whom much is given, much shall be required."
President Obama's sees the world differently. He said earlier this year at the National Prayer Breakfast: ...when I talk about shared responsibility, it's because I genuinely believe that in a time when many folks are struggling, at a time when we have enormous deficits, it's hard for me to ask seniors on a fixed income, or young people with student loans, or middle-class families who can barely pay the bills to shoulder the burden alone. And I think to myself, if I'm willing to give something up as somebody who's been extraordinarily blessed, and give up some of the tax breaks that I enjoy, I actually think that's going to make economic sense. But for me as a Christian, it also coincides with Jesus's teaching that "for unto whom much is given, much shall be required." It mirrors the Islamic belief that those who've been blessed have an obligation to use those blessings to help others, or the Jewish doctrine of moderation and consideration for others.
When I talk about giving every American a fair shot at opportunity, it's because I believe that when a young person can afford a college education, or someone who's been unemployed suddenly has a chance to retrain for a job and regain that sense of dignity and pride, and contributing to the community as well as supporting their families -- that helps us all prosper. It means maybe that research lab on the
There is still more work to do, of course. The poverty level is too high (and would be higher without the President's Recovery Act). We need to do more to protect our environment. Our communities would be safer with strong, sensible measures that reduce gun violence. Congress needs to pass the President's American Jobs Act to help put more people to work. No one knows these issues better than Barack Obama. That's why we need to keep him in the White House. The alternative is a return to the policies that nearly brought this nation to the brink of collapse. As a minister, I trust deeply in the

You have undoubtedly heard of the adage, “If it walks like a duck, smells like a duck and looks like a duck then it must be a duck!” right? Well... What if the dog learned how to walk like a duck and sprayed duck cologne on himself and rented a Halloween costume... was attracting men of contrition and peace, Islam was garnering a majority of angry men. Think Martin Luther King vs, Malcolm X here. Having said that, make no mistake that in the Muslim faith it is blasphemy to even mouth the words that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. The biggest stumbling block to Muslims is that they cannot even tolerate the notion that Christians have three Gods. For all the efforts of Christians we have not been able
The bottom line is Barack Obama has professed that he believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and is his personal savior. We cannot know his sincerity. It could be his statement was for political expediency much like Constantine of the 3rd century. However, his utterance makes him a blasphemer against Allah. Inside the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem, Israel there is an Arabic inscription that translates, “God has no son”. This was put there as an indictment against Christianity. Ask a Christian, they say he is a Muslim. Ask a Muslim, they say he is a Christian. .President Obama therefore is a Muslim sympathizer (bad enough) but he is certainly not a Muslim.

Courts BIBLE PUBLISHER NOT 'RELIGIOUS'? by Charlie Butts (OneNewsNow.com)
ore than two dozen lawsuits have been filed against the ObamaCare mandate that requires employers to provide free coverage of contraceptives, abortion pills and sterilization. The latest suit comes from Tyndale House Publishers.
M
Tyndale is the largest privately held Christian publisher of Bibles, Christian
books and digital media, yet it is subject to the mandate for for-profit corporations that are considered categorically nonreligious -- even though Tyndale is owned by a non-profit foundation that provides grants to meet physical and spiritual needs of people worldwide. Alliance Defending Freedom attorney Matt Bowman tells OneNewsNow, "Bible publishers should be free to do business according to the book that they publish." "To say that a Bible publisher is not religious is patently absurd," the attorney continues. "Tyndale House Publishers is

a prime example of how ridiculous and arbitrary the Obama administration's mandate is. Americans today clearly agree with America's founders: the federal government's bureaucrats are not qualified to decide what faith is, who the faithful are, and where and how that faith may be lived out." The mandate forces employers, regardless of their religious or moral convictions, to provide the coverage under the threat of heavy penalties. The attorney says that puts Tyndale in a precarious position -- either dump its religious convictions, or be punished for remaining true to the faith.
WHAT OUR FOUNDING FATHERS REALLY SAID “We seek to prevent in some measure the extension of the penal code by inspiring the salutary and conservative principle of virtue and of knowledge in an early age... by general inspection we seek, as far as possile, to purify the whole moral atmosphere... and to turn strong current of feeling and opinion, as well as the sensures of the law and the denunciations of religion, against immorality and crime.” Now you know what our founding fathers really said... ~Daniel Webster, Founding Father

NCIS's Muse Watson To Sing At Opening Show Vets For Vets at The Starlite Theatre November 5th
Hope Springs
Movie Reviews in a nutshell...
By Hannah Goodwyn CBN.com Senior Producer
Hope. It’s a wish or desire for something to happen. It’s what you hold onto when faith is too hard to come by. It’s also the underlying current of Hope Springs, Meryl Streep’s new movie with Tommy Lee Jones and Steve Carell. Hope Springs examines the marriage – or lack thereof – between middle-aged Kay, the desperately lonely wife, and Arnold, her despondent husband. The message is clear and strong, calling audiences to commit fully and again to their spouse. The film’s ideas about how reconciliation can happen are a bit off kilter. Rated PG-13, Hope Springs is filled with awkward sexual situations, innuendos and suggestive themes. It’s not a movie you’d want to see with your family. Hope Springs is a funny and heartwarming movie that makes a strong case for fighting for your marriage. Still, the sexual content, including scenes of self-pleasure and oral sex, is hard to ignore. The extremely mature themes in this film may be too offensive for even some adults. Caution is advised.
Branson, MO ~ Award-winning actor Muse Watson, also known as "Mike Franks" to his fans, will take the stage at the Starlite Theatre on November 5th to perform an all-inspiring rendition of The Battle Hymn of the Republic, accompanied by the Jerry Ford Big Band Orchestra. As part of the citywide Veterans Day celebrations, the Starlite Theatre will host the USO-canteen-style show, produced by Brenda Meadows, an Army veteran who toured Vietnam in 1968 as an USO performer, and sponsored by Branson Veterans Task Force. Watson will join an all-star lineup in Vets for Vets that will feature many of Branson's top performers, including Jeanna Kilbane, Army veteran Eddie Stovall and The Platters, award-winning pianist Dino, special gue st Eddie Beesley, who lost his legs in 1965 while serving in Chu Lai, Vietnam and many more. This is Watson's second-year to be in Branson during Veterans week. Last year, Watson spoke at the unveiling ceremony for The Traveling Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall and dedicated an American flag to the Branson Veteran's Task Force. Watson will again be riding alongside Branson Veteran's Task Force Chairman Ernie Bradley in the 79th annual Veterans Day Parade. "It's that time of year. Time for me to loan my body to "Sam" for another season of A Christmas Snow LIVE. I Love playing Sam! It is always so rewarding to
hear how the story inspires folks to do the next right thing..and I love being in Branson, Missouri, the capital of appreciation for our veterans. No other town I know of has such a grateful attitude towards veterans. And we celebrate that again this year on November 5th singing in Vets for Vets", states Watson. Vets for Vets producer Brenda Meadows remembers how important these shows were to men and women during active duty. "Muse has two brothers who served in Vietnam, so he knows how important entertainment from "home" was to them", states Meadows. "We are so excited about Muse joining us. He's so talented vocally as well as has a great deal of heart and gratitude for those who served in the U.S. military. We have adopted him as an honorary vet!" Are people that blind that they think that voting for a political group who rejected God in their platform, stands for murdering children, and stands for same sex marriage is an appropriate action? We are not voting for a pastor or a Bible leader. We are voting on the direction for this country. I guess it is too much to ask people to look beyond the entitlements they can't live without, believing the lie that the other party will not care for seniors and the poor, and for some, the color of a man's skin to choose a party that is although not perfect, but closer to Word of God teaching. Shame on those who are masquerading as Christians and encouraging others to follow their folly and ignore Christian responsibility.

Here is Real-L Life Testimonies... A mother and daughter’s stories... Migraines, Insomnia, Allergies… yep that would be my daily life, before Dr. Bo. Since I was 12 years old I have suffered from migraines, as I got older they got worse. Some of my migraines lasted for three or more days at a time. When I met Dr. Bo, not only was I suffering from a long migraine, but severe pain in my lower and mid back. I had tried many different OTC pain meds and some would work temporarily but the pain would always come back. After just a couple visits with Dr. Bo I started noticing a big difference. The pain in my lower back went away and the migraine, turned to just the occasional headache and that is even with me sit-

Why is my neck hurting? I'm starting to get a headache; I'm only 13, why is this happening? Three years ago that was me. My name is Kristina, I am 15 almost 16 years old and I see Dr. Bo weekly. I look forward to seeing my chiropractor every week. I am in marching band and winter guard. We work extremely hard at what we do and every Wednesday I can't wait for the end of the day so I can see Dr. Bo. Since I move a lot before, during and after school, getting adjusted makes me feel replenished and fresh. Since seeing Dr. Bo I have noticed I have had a better outlook at things. I don't have as many headaches or neck pain. He takes care of me and I always feel so welcome in the office. I have met some great friends thru Victory Chiropractic along with receiving wonderful care that will help keep my body functioning the way it should. ~Kristina

and the price has skyrocketed.
Three Hiring Mistakes to Avoid ccording to a recent study from the U.S. Department of Labor, the average number of years a worker stays at a job is 4.4. An additional 91% of Millennials (15–35–year–olds) believe they’ll stay on the job less than three years. The days of 30-year, gold-watch-earning team members are officially gone.

So what’s the big deal? People change jobs all of the time. It’s critical because turnover hurts your bottom line. In fact, it’s been estimated that it costs $3,500 to replace one $8-per-hour worker. But that’s just the beginning. The longer a team member has been with the company, the harder they are to replace. Add the loss of morale on your team to that,
So how can you grow a team that is so passionate about their jobs that the thought of jumping ship is as foreign to them as frog legs for Sunday dinner? It all begins with the hiring process. When you have the right people on board, turnover drops. Get on the right track by avoiding these hiring mistakes.
Hiring Too Quickly We’ve all been there. You’re so short of help, you are willing to take the next warm body who walks through the door. Bad idea. Within six months, odds are you’ll be trying to fill that same position again. The Solution: You have to be willing to wait for the perfect person—one who shares your values, work ethic, etc. At Dave’s company, team members are

Choosing Talent Over Passion There are lots of great candidates out there with incredible talent and experience, but that doesn’t mean they are the person for the job. In fact, they could be a jerk who will never fit in. The Solution: When interviewing a can-

And when they are married to someone who is domineering, unstable or simply full of drama, you’ll end up with a team member who can’t be creative, productive or excellent. The Solution: Part of the 12-step hiring process at Dave’s company includes a spousal interview. The leader and their spouse meet for dinner with the job candidate and their significant other. It’s not a formal interview; it’s more a time to hang out and get to know each other. A

Of course, it is the human religious nature to make twigs into trunks. You can imagine the difficult task we have to try to educate and spiritually mature the believer without creating a great offense in the process. If this paper took a left-wing, flaming liberal position or a stinking right-wing, conservative p o s i t i o n (extreme opinions either way), folks on both sides of that spectrum would get pretty generous to support their own ignorant bias. Having a Christian publication be moderate usually generates moderate financial support because it doesn’t get us all fired up. However, we believe a moderate approach to the majority of hot topics is the most prudent and,
