After the year we have all experienced, it’s natural to want to rush toward 2021 and the potential for a brighter tomorrow. But this year end, we are taking the time to pause and reflect on the amazing efforts of our community coming together to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and the other challenges of 2020. We’ve seen nonprofit organizations create new partnerships to ensure that clients in need receive services safely. We’ve watched as trust is built and tested between individuals, organizations, donors and funders, only to strengthen the relationships that are being forged.

In this issue of Legacy, you’ll read about how the trust of The Community Foundation’s donors, today and in the past, is vital to the way we were able to respond in this time of community crisis. A history of giving to The Unrestricted Fund created flexibility to respond to the needs of community-serving organizations. Additional giving to The Unrestricted Fund in the early days of COVID-19, stretched that ability to respond even further.

As we approach the end of this year, we trust that the relationships strengthened during these challenging times will continue. We trust that all of us will do our part to make a brighter future for Muncie and Delaware County. We extend our gratitude to you for putting your trust in The Community Foundation today, tomorrow, and always. Where neighbors create legacies
