It's 4:30 am on February, 20 2012, Presidents Day. I'm getting ready to go to work, currently in a BIG machine shop, how I ended up there... I don't have a clue ... but I'm chasing after dead Presidents; money, the life's blood that everyone must have to survive in our crazy world and I asked myself this question... Why are there only dead Presidents on money? The main reason the U.S. is putting only dead Presidents on the new dollars (or dead people on any other coin) is TRADITION. Although this TRADITION has been legislated into law now, from the very beginning of our nation's founding, patriotic men felt... "It was improper to honor any living person by putting their image on the legal tender currency, especially the circulating coins". George Washington said " NO", when our young nation wanted to put his portrait on the first U.S. Dollar, WHICH WAS THE START of this long and still unbroken TRADITION. When the newly-formed United States of America minted its early coinage, it was Miss Liberty (goddess of liberty in early numismatic writings) whose portrait appeared on our ccurrency. The American Eagle usually appeared on the reverse. It wasn't until 1909, on the 100th birthday of the assasinated President, Abraham Lincoln, that a (dead) president was first featured on U.S. coinage. The LINCOLN CENT was intended to be a special commemorative, but it proved so popular that it endures to this day! Other dead Presidents soon followed... the Jefferson Nickel, the Roosevelt Dime, the Washington Quarter. So the fact that we live our lifes chasing after these dead presidents so our family and friends can survive in this money-driven world of ours, is a TRADITION really is unbelievable! Below are 12 ways my family and I make the dead President's we have to have to survive and I strongly encourage everyone who reads this document to build multiple income streams and DO NOT RELY ON A SINGLE INCOME - CALLED A JOB.
