To get a debit card requires you to start a checking account or a savings account just like when acquiring a secured credit card. After this process then the bank issues you a debit card and most of this debit card bear either a Visa or a Master Card logo and appear just like a normal credit card. Whether you are shopping in a store or online you will have the same privilege just like when using a credit offer. The way you are approved for a traditional credit card is that your credit is reviewed and then you are set at a certain debit limit. After that procedure then you get the card and can make transaction and pay for it at the end of each month. But if you are a person with a bad credit score you will not get a credit card so easily. But in the case of prepaid debit they work very differently and they are termed as reloadable cards. And this is because a money account is linked directly with the debit card, you put this money in an account with a bank that is secured by FDIC insured and this money will be protected just like a regular bank account. But they are not like normal bank account as the particular bank maybe many states away from where you are. And there is also a rules which states that you cannot make regular with drawls from the particular account. But with a debit card with the Visa logo you can get a limit that corresponds with the amount you put in.
