The Art of Giving In October, Sheffield, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle and Chester joined forces with HSBC to support their respective local Christy Ball. Each gallery donated a piece of art to auction, raising between £1500£2300 each for a number of worthy causes. Newcastle has also recently supported a local charity called FACT, which raises money to strengthen the support network for sufferers and their families, and their contribution will feature in the charity’s forthcoming press releases and e-newsletters. Not to be outdone, the Glasgow team recently hosted the James Whale Fund for Kidney Cancer auction in their gallery. Celebrities’ drawings of whales (including well known Scottish personalities such as Lorraine Kelly and Ian Rankin) were auctioned to fundraise for the charity, which does such great work to support children suffering from kidney cancer.
