The Next Generation of Mathematical Scientists Claremont Graduate University (CGU) offers a variety of master’s and doctoral degrees through the Institute of Mathematical Sciences (IMS). CGU trains new generations of mathematical scientists for positions in education, industry, and government laboratories. The Institute maintains a strong applied research component through its internationally recognized Engineering & Computational Mathematics Clinic, offering students first-hand experiences in solving significant mathematical problems for industry and government clients.

Engineering & Computational Mathematics Clinic CGU is the home of the Engineering & Computational Mathematics Clinic. In the clinic, students and faculty work as a team to solve complex, real world modeling problems for sponsoring clients. For over 40 years, the clinic has been training students to apply advanced mathematical techniques to the needs of large and small companies, government agencies, and nonprofit research organizations.
